NOT RECOMMENDED: The people are nice and do a good job in a reasonable amount of time. My shellac manicures last at least 3 weeks whereas I couldn't keep my manicure looking fresh for more than a week at my previous nail salon. Recommended! UPDATE: I got fed up with my nails constantly being filed down to nothing but pink on top and decided to start doing my own Gelish manicures at home. You can get everything on Amazon for about $120, the cost of about 3 manicures. I've never been happier! I love this place! I've had my nails done by billy, bobby kimmy, and rose.  Each has done an amazing job.  This last time Kimmy did my nails and they are one of my favorite sets. This nail salon is AMAZING! They were able to fit me in for an appointment same day, within an hour of my phone call.The salon has a relaxed vibe and I enjoyed the ambiance. My nail tech Rose was friendly and did a phenomenal job on my new set of acrylics. She asked what shape and length I'd like and knew exactly what I was talking about. She helped me pick out the perfect nail color based off a picture I showed her. She kept double checking that everything was just how I wanted it, and she was spot on each time!I want to dispute some of the previous reviews on here. First off, they change the towels out between customers. I watched them do it during my appointment today. Secondly, OF COURSE they charge you for the nail file and buffer. They're already paying for their booth, their nail supplies, etc. Of course they're going to charge you for a nail kit that you bring in each time. I absolutely love this place ! Christina always does my nails PERFECTLY! She spends her time on my fills which I genuinely appreciate! She knows my style and color preferences that it makes my trips there so much easier. I came across this because it was close by my work, I will never go anywhere else. On top of the incredible service they have a million shellac colors! They are so sweet and always offer me wine or a mimosa. I am so impressed with this place, Christina will always offer to fix something that I don’t like. I have been going here for almost a year after struggling to find a good place to get my nails filled here in the Portland area. I'm so glad they are so close to my work and home! I have always been pleased no matter who does them! The design is beautiful and the guy was very careful - even fixing up the screw ups of the last salon I went to - but they don't wrap the edges of your nails when they paint so the tips wear off so much faster and it looks kinda trashy. Also, he did put the design, meant to start at my cuticle, a little further down so it made my nails look grown out even though the design was brand new. I LOVE Bentonite Nails!!!! They are so friendly , efficient, and clean with a beautiful atmosphere!! I have become a very loyal client , specifically with Kimmie! She is AMAZING !! This is a hard one to write. I love the final product but, there is NO customer service. Very interesting that there is soda, water, champagne sitting right in front but, I have been here twice and never even offered a glass of water. The first time Tommy did my nails but, never told me about the extra cost. I wasn't too mad because, I was very happy with the final product. The second time I had someone else (she never told me her name) and I asked her to fix my nails on 3 difference occasions until they looked like what Tommy did the first time.  The entire time she talked to the other nail techs in there native language and never said two words to me. My sister & I took my mom here for her birthday and I have mixed reviews. It's a great atmosphere and the color options are really great. They did a really great job on my nails and I loved how they turned out. The reason for the low rating is the fact the massage chairs were not working. It would just stay in one spot. I asked the nail technician for help and she clicked one button and I let her know it still wasn't working but she didn't care to help at all. It was my Mom's birthday and she was having the same issue and was also receiving no help either. This is one of the parts we really enjoy and look forward to relaxing. It was frustrating that they didn't seem to care and I felt a bit cheated out of the relaxing pedicure we were hoping for. I would go back from my nails possibly but not for a pedicure. Read Less

I went to Billy for a full set ($50). I tend to stay on the neutral side for colors, but this time he suggested a pink/white ombré. It looks so classy and beautiful, and the shape of my nails is exactly what I wanted. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I feel like the Customer Service could be better. This might sound minor to some people, but I wasn't offered any beverage while I got my nails done. It was a very hot day and several other customers were taken care of. I also asked to see the gel colors and was ignored several times. Typically I wouldn't care much, but when I am spending $50+ each visit, I definitely expect to be taken care of during my visit. I'm not sure how this place still has so many stars. I've tried this place multiple times because of the good reviews. I've always left decently happy with the end product of my nails however the experience of getting them done was always less than good. I've called for my friend and I to get a manicure together. When we arrived we had to split up far away from each other and get our nails done separately the whole time. She got her nails done right away. However the person that was supposed to do mine was helping someone else. He started helping both of us at the same time. It was very strange. At the end he gave me no direction on whether I was done or not and barely spoke a word the entire time. Overall my experience with this place has always been awkward and the service is sub par. I had a pedicure and lip waxing done here. The woman doing my toes was super friendly, and gave a great, long leg massage (my favorite part!). I then had my lip waxed, and told the lady that I have very sensitive skin and she had a solution for that. This place is less than 10 minutes from my home - the convenience factor is a plus, and that's about it. On two recent occasions I had booked with Tommy since Kim (my first choice of nail techs) was unavailable. In each of those instances I arrived for my appointment, and Tommy was working on another client. He looked surprised to learn I had made an appointment with him although he never approached me nor apologized nor did anything to suggest I had been inconvenienced. The second time I ended up with Jenny who told me she was new to the salon. While I had specifically told her that I wanted a plain mani and pedi, she asked me on four different occasions if I didn't want gel. Answering her, I remained calm while I was nearly seething! The final straw was when she stared at me and said, "How about waxing?" This was an interesting question inasmuch as I had just had my brows waxed the previous week while on travel. She will not earn a bigger tip by annoying clients. The following week I called Benitoite asking to speak to the manager. The manager was not available I was told, and instead a male employee took my call. I repeated to him what I described in this review. He said,"This won't happen again." Once more, no apologies no offers for a free service, nothing. I told this person that my experience would definitely not happen again because I had no intention of returning. Read Less

This facility is NOT CLEAN. I stood up to pay for my nails and another customer sat down where I was sitting and they didn't even change out the towel they were working my nails on or disinfect counter!! I don't want to worry about getting an infection when I get my nails done.If you don't walk in with your own file THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR IT!! Every time I get my nails done they give you the file because it is unsanitary to reuse them but have NEVER been charged $2 for a cheap file!They just started putting shellac polish on both my sister and I when neither of us asked for it and charged us for it when it was done! Don't just assume your client wants the more expensive option and proceed to charge your customers for something they never asked for. This made my supposed to be $35 acrylic manicure $50.I have not found a nail salon in the Portland/Vancouver area that can do simple nail art so, being cautious, I showed the nail technician a picture of what I was hoping for (one triangle design on both ring fingers) and specifically said "if this isn't possible and can't have my nails look like this, that is perfectly fine, I will just have my nails all one color". They responded very confidently and said "oh yeah, I can definitely do that! That's easy, that won't be a problem". The acrylics they did were actually the best shaped acrylics I have ever had. Perfect length, thin, and shaped well.Fast forward to the painting process and they made the shellac (that again I didn't ask for) extremely thick. The triangle design that they were so confident about earlier started with gold cheap glitter polish (that color wasn't even in the design at all)! The point of the triangle was off center and was almost comical how bad it looked (but wasn't comical because I paid $52).I came back in after paying after sitting in the parking lot staring at my nails sadly and decided to have it filed off. They insisted I pick another design instead of having plain nails so I chose a simple one with gold nail tape. They said it would last a week, and it fell off two days later.I obviously see they are capable of good nail art from the pictures and I think you could definitely have a good experience here if you say EXACTLY what you want (and bring your own stupid file), but I think I just got the wrong technician and the lack of cleanliness is enough of a deal breaker for me to not come back here. This has been my place of choice for about two years now, but the last six months I've walked away disappointed at best. Some of their new gals are just plan rude, one tried picking off my old polish with her finger nail then pulled the tools out of her pocket, my gel pedi clumped off same day on one toe, and after today I will not be returning.First timers they are really good and attentive with, but do not appreciate continued service. One of my better experiences actually.  Go Tigard for having an unexpected gem!They were busy for a saturday afternoon but got us soaking right away and after a wait treated all three of us at the same time.  The one step up from the basic mani/pedi ended up only being a few dollars more and what a treat.  This was a true Treat yo'self moment.  Wax, massage, buffing, the works.  They offer tea and mimosas and such while you're having your treatment.  The facility is spotless and the service is friendly and very thorough.  As three men sometimes you get looks coming into a suburban parlor but they treated us just like all the other costumers.  A real joy indeed.Thank you Benitoite, you have made customers out of your new neighbors!
