Having only moved to Salem a few months back I have been looking for a good nail salon.  I chose this salon because it is close to my home.  I called on a Friday and was able to schedule an appointment for Saturday.  I got there a few minutes early.  I didn't really have to wait.  I told the gentleman who was doing my nails exactly the shape I wanted.  I also stated I wanted to try the chrome powder polish.  We chatted for a moment and he went to work.  The end result is awful!! The shape of my nails is wrong it looks like acrylic was just globbed on my nails with very little filing for shape.  He then started to do the chrome powder.  While you can kind of tell it might be chrome, it is splotchy and bubbling and in some spot just missing.  Since this business is closed Sunday and Monday I couldn't even call to complain, much less have them fixed.  I am having to go to a different nail salon that is able to get me in today, because another day of this mess is to much!!  It turns out the man doing my nails is Han the owner.  He did not take a lot of time doing the set and was dismissive when he was done. I'm new to the area and I went in because it's close to home. Went in without an appointment at 4:30 on a Tuesday and they took me within 20 minutes. Super appreciated that! The gal who did my pedicure, however, was not the best. She acted annoyed with me that I didn't have my own file...my own file? Really? Then when she was filing my toes, she cut me twice. Also, there is a sharp corner still on my big toe that is stabbing me. Then, as I came in spur of the moment, I asked if they had those disposable flipflops, as I had worn tennis shoes. She said they did, but they cost $3.00. Wow. I passed on those. Made a same day appointment over the phone and was easily slotted. I wouldn't recommend walking in as they have regular clientele that have standing appointments. Over the phone I discussed wanting manicure w/ design along with a pedicure. I wanted to emphasize the design part as I've noticed nail salons usually only have 1 person that can do something besides your basic 5 petaled white flower. My pedicure was amazing. Chi took care of me for that portion and didn't skimp on the massage like other places I've been to. After that I was passed off to Hung to take care of everything but the design for my manicure. Once he was done doing his part I inspected my nails and saw one of my cuticles has been cut and was bleeding. On one of my thumbs there was some areas where more polish could have been applied. Only one finger could have used some cleanup as it had flowed over to my skin. Trina took care of the design portion. Amazing! She is very charismatic and great at what she does. I showed her a picture and she was able to not only replicate it but improve. I couldn't believe how fast she had worked! I've been coming here for over a decade, and there has been a couple hit and misses when there are new employees in training but they are so kind and efficient. They work very hard to sure enough in walk in even on a busy day. They are fast at their work and know what they are doing. They offer a wide variety of not only nail accommodations but waxing as well. Most importantly I am confident that they use sterile equipment and know how to use them properly. They even have signs warning that they do not remove callasus like other places might over since it's not procedure allowed in Oregon at least. Oregon also requires you to have your own file, buffer, speedsters etc but if you need a kit they are not expensive to add on and they let you keep it after. I absolutely love their hand done art they are phenomenal at doing. But I'm a hurry they're great with airbrush designs too. Trina loves to try new things if you have a specific design in mind. I can't wait to come here for my wedding one day, and I have had my nails done here for every dance growing up. I'm super rough on my nails so they usually only last a week but that's definitely on me. Read Less

Went in for a acrylic nails, glue sticking out on sides of nails and parts of sides not painted, cuticles weren't pushed back at all so after it was finished it looked like I already needed a fill. Asked for a pedicure for me and my daughter and they charged me for a spa pedicure when I asked for a simple one. Charged my daughter for gel polish when I said just normal polish. Read Less

I went in to get a new full set. I got my polish and sat there a while before I asked when they would take my old set off. The man chastised me and made a comment about how I must not do this often as it's proper etiquette to soak them off at home(?um). He brings me over to the manicure table immediately taking the drill out and grabbing my left hand so roughly he snapped the end of one of my natural nails off. Goes right into drilling them down. He keeps catching the drill on the sides of my fingers and holding it in one place so long it hurts. When I tell him this he tells me it's supposed to hurt. (No). He says "$32". Which was weird but I gave him the money and he puts the tips on. Doesn't even ask how long I want them before cutting them down. They're a bit short for my liking already. Let me tell you he put that acrylic on SO THICK. Asks what shape I want. I said "round please." So he starts going at them then he shows me them and they're square? I'm like "I asked for round". He says "no you said square." I ask if he can just make them round. He says he will for $5 more, I let it go. Then he says "I need $15". What?! I'm like I already paid you. He says it's for extra charges. I asked what they were for he told me it was for the tools and tips! I've never been charged extra for tips. He's telling me I owe him almost $50 for a full set! Now I've had prices inflated on me before because hey, I'm a young girl. What am I gonna do about it. Begrudgingly i shell out the money and he paints my nails. I reach out my hand at one point and he bumps it! I ask him to fix the nail he bumped, he said no. I was really confused it's not even like it was my fault the polish got smudged. HE bumped it! I'm just upset at this point because my money got swindled and I was left with some mediocre at best nails. I was staying at the Shiloh for a wedding and just happened by these guys. On a whim I stopped in and they had an opening. They did such a super job and it has lasted as well. I needed something special and they were able to accommodate my request. I had never had a professional manicure before but you guys got me started. Used to be a regular here when I first got my nails done but found another salon that did my nails much better and I found out what was wrong with my nails when I got them done here. The lady is always distracted whenever she does my nails, talking nonstop to whomever is in the room. She does my nails so quickly that at times they're out of shape but because I just started getting my nails done I didnt know that my nails weren't supposed to look like that. Paid a lot for solar nails with shellac and three broke in less than two weeks. Went to get a fill thinking maybe it was just this time thing but now my fill is so ugly. I have absolutely no idea how this place has good reviews. All Trina talks about is money and is consistently talking about what your price will be the entire time she's doing your nails. She also made me run my card before she even painted my nails which really pissed me off. She's rude, disrespectful, she rushes everything, and even told me, "if I'm not worried about it, you don't worry about it" when she put acrylic powder all over my skin. Need to always make an appointment to get in but the staff is friendly and talkative. Everyone speaks great English and is able to carry a full conversation with you. I'm honestly so upset with how my nails tuned out. I showed Trina a picture online of what I wanted done, and not only were they the wrong color, they were the wrong shape. They were uneven and cost $49 for a set of shellac without any design.. she rushed me, too; my full set was done within 35 minutes, and she didn't let my nails cure the entire time they were supposed to. When he decided it was a no-go, he ignored me. I had to have him re-shape my nails, because he was not longer paying attention.The nails were way too thick, I think because he was in a hurry. I will start by saying I'm really picky when it comes to pedicures. It's my one splurge and I want it to be good.I was a walk-in so that may have been part of it but my pedicure was super fast.  The leg massage lasted about 10 seconds.   I would much rather have them tell me they don't have time than to try and give me a quickie to get my money.  She did go to town on the bottom of my feet because they are dry but it was almost to the painful point and I would rather them use the cheese grater thing rather than the sponge thing they were using.  $30 is bit high when everywhere else is $20-$25.Also the chairs were not all that great. These guys are great! I had a horrible experience two days before with my acrylic nails at another place and I was so desperate to get them off. Every place I called said they were booked and I couldn't get an appointment. I called Top Line Nails and the guy that answered was kind, spoke clear English, and rushed me in as soon as I could get there. Not only did they take the time to remove my bad acrylics but they went out of their way to give me exactly the look I wanted! Here is a hones list of the top ten things to know about Top Line Nails.1. The salon is located in a nice off of the street location that guarantees a lot of parking availability.2. The salon is a family owned business. The husband and wife team of Han and Trina along with their daughters all work to provide quality nail care.3. EVERYONE at this salon speaks excellent English so if you read somewhere there is a language barrier dismiss that review. 4. Everyone at this salon knows what they are doing. This equates to quality nail care. The day I visited I noticed a new family member had joined the team. Trina and Han carefully watched her to make sure she knew how to perform services correctly and gave her tips along the way to ensure the customers were satisfied with her work.5. This salon has customers who have been coming there for 13 years. Yes I said it....13 YEARS.6. This salon reminded me a lot of the television show Cheers in that they knew so many people who walked through the door. They greeted each customer by name and even managed to remember mine!7. I had an acrylic fill with regular polish and a pedi with regular polish. I learned more about my nails and feet that day than I have at all of the other salons I have visited combined. I love the shape of my nails (I like them round and short). It takes a bit to get the shape so they compliment my short fingers but they did an amazing job!8. The salon is CLEAN and COMFORTABLE!9. The prices are REASONABLE! I always worry when I go to a salon about pricing. I have not been able to find any consistency with pricing and quality of work in Salem. I even visited the much heralded REVEL salon and was sorely disappointed. I got shellac-really cute colors.  She took about 20-25 minutes to do the whole manicure, all while doing other people stuff in between while my shellac was curing.  Two days later two nails peeled off!  Ugh!  I was so mad I spent $35 to have them peel off in two days!!!!!!!!  Will never go here again. I went with a friend who loves Trina, one of the owners. I had never had a mani/pedi, so we set up appointments together. The only reason I agreed to start going to get pedis done was because my job requires me to walk for 10+ hours a day and my legs/feet hurt constantly. I had an appointment with one of the employees (not Trina) and despite the pedicure and manicure being done well, there was an awkward silence the whole time between me and the lady. She would occasionally ...talk in her native language to one of the other employees, but avoided eye contact and conversation with me the entire time. It made me feel awkward and uncomfortable, so I decided to make an appointment with Trina for my second ever mani/pedi. I showed up 10 minutes early and she was JUST starting on a lady's pedicure. The appointment was 30 mins late. I sat there for 40 minutes with nothing to do, but I was patient and didn't cause a fuss. When the pedicure did happen, it was HORRIBLE. She spent hardly any time doing anything. She didn't massage my legs or feet worth a damn, she didn't clip my toenails at all, just filed them for a second each, and I have horrible calluses on my feet that she didn't touch. The paint job came out great, but nothing about the pedicure made me want to go back. Then we got to the manicure. She again didn't clip/trim my nails- she merely filed them, leaving them uneven and much too long. She didn't soak my finger tips, nor did she massage my hand, something I was told was standard. The only thing she did with my fingernails other than file them was paint them. No cuticles were pushed back, no buffing, nothing. She literally just filed and painted them, something that I can do at home. Then she charged me $43, which seems much too expensive seems how she hardly did anything. I even brought my own polish in; the only resource of their own that they had to use on me was the water in the foot bath. I can't decide what was worse, having a lady that awkwardly ignored me the whole time, but did mostly quality work, or having someone who talked to me throughout the appointment, but did terrible! I will NOT be returning. They have not lived up to my definition of mani/pedi, and I am a backwoods, country grown woman that changes her own oil in her vehicles and hand washes dishes. My daughter and I was looking for a new nail salon that's closer to home so we dropped in to top line nails. I have looked around at several other salons and none of them fit what I was looking for. top line nails was exactly what I wanted, my nails turned out great. We walked in and asked for a nail appointment and even though they were very busy they got us right in. Great work, nice clean Salon, good atmosphere and there was no communication gap.
