To start off this post I'm going to comment on the salon itself. It was very clean and had a very relaxing environment from the music to the decor. I had a wonderful experience there! Mikayla was awesome! She was kind and personable. She was also highly attentative towards my needs and made sure I was comfortable and well taken care of the whole time. Yesterday was a Transformation Tuesday for my hair and I love it! Awhile back I went to a different salon to get my hair died and they completely killed my hair. It was breaking, falling out, and so so dry. No amount of conditioner helped. So my hanai mom recommended Havana salon. I was skeptical, because I haven't had many good experiences with strangers doing my hair. But Elisha made me feel comfortable and she did an amazing job! She told me everything she was going to do to my hair, what it was going to do, how it was going to help, and how I can better take care of my hair as well. I got a split end treatment and a trim. The comments made by Keri B. and Allison are completely false. Keri B has never been to Havana Salon. How can you reveiw a business without ever going there. Allison came in and wanted me to apply lightner to a scalp that had a massive red skin irritation. Our manufacturers directions state not to apply the lightner to skin with abrasions or irratation. We follow the manufacturer's directions. I have done numerous services for people who have cancer. Everything these two womn have said was a complete lie. I have had them work on my hair for many years and now that I live in Washington DC, and when I fly back to Oregon, they always fit me in for a double color process, Brazilian Blowout and haircut.  Shea also does an amazing job in regard to waxing.  I have very sensitive skin and she is very patient and skilled and makes sure that I don't break out and or react to the wax.  All three deeply care about not only their clients' hair, but also their overall well being. Too much to say in detail. Did a bad job of cutting and coloring my hair. I wrote the owner, who practically begged me to let her "make it right", which apparently meant "talk down to me" and then CHARGE ME MORE MONEY TO "MAKE IT RIGHT"! Elisha is excellent at color and cut. My hair color hasn't ever looked this good! I have gray/black roots (which are hard to deal with) and she knows exactly what to do to make it natural looking and blended. I can't say enough about how pleased I am to have found her! If I can give them zero stars I would! I did not get what I wanted done to my hair and the girl who did my hair was very rude! She was even going to send me home with wet hair! Elisha the owner is by far the rudest person I've came across. Very stuck up and did not care  that they messed up on my hair at all. Very unprofessional in my opinion. She also started taking pictures of me when I told her I don't want my picture taken and I'm never coming back there again. Elisha is an amazing colorist and stylist. I have been going to Elisha for 2 years and I have never been disappointed with my color or cut. Recently, Elisha transformed my color from a dark ombré to platinum blonde and the final product is amazing. Do NOT make an appointment with Laurie Musick! My friend had an appointment with her this last weekend. She was contacted by Laurie's daughter to come in early. She agreed and then spent the next HOUR in their waiting area because Laurie was in fact not ready for her. Once she finally was free to see my friend, she refused to do her hair due to her having skin cancer. My friend gets her hair dyed all the time and tried to explain this to Laurie to no avail. Had an appointment with Laurie Musick. Worst experience EVER! She change my time to come in a half hour early. I did. And she made me wait an hour! Then when we were going to start she notice marks on my head (I have a form of skin cancer). Well, she doesn't do cancer patients! 1st I would like to say that i NEVER write reviews for anything but i feel like i need to do this. Anyway, i was in contact with Elisha (the owner) thru text &  i expressed to her the way i wanted my hair (i was going from a maroonish color to a light brown) she explained that it would be a process but indeed she would make it happen, not exactly as the picture id shown her but it would be similar, I agreed. the day i went in for this to happen (03/07/16) she let me know it would be a $350 charge because of the "process", i dont mind spending the $ but for a job done right (after talking to several other stylists they all almost fainted when i told them i paid $465 total for the service, a shampoo & conditioner, i know i know im dumb for even swiping my card & not investigating prices elsewhere beforehand smh) anyway she started & everything was fine up until my scalp started to LITERALLY burn so i get up & let her know, she washes the bleach out & tells me that the cause of this is because i dyed my hair 7-8years ago with box dye & that she can no longer go on with the process because of this & i would have to wait at least 6 months but for a fee she can do keratin treatments so my hair can be restored. Not ONCE did she take the blame & even said thru text "its out of my control". The whole time after the incident happened all i kept hearing was "next time you come in we can do this for this much & this for that much but you have a lot of hair so it'll be extra." I wanted to cry but i held my composure. The next morning i wakeup with SCABS YES SCABS all over my head, i freaked out so i texted her. She tells me "blah blah blah just condition your hair." I go see a different stylist to ask her wtf is on my head & what can i do, she tells me theres no way it was box dye from 8 years ago & she felt so bad. I go see Elisha personally the same day to show her what happened over night & again not once did she take the blame nor at the very LEASToffer to fix my shitty hair or reimburse me some if not all of my money. I literally left in tears because i just couldnt believe what had happend to my scalp, hair & all the money i just threw away (As advice she told me to take advil though, yes advil lol). A few days have gone by &  she hasnt even bothered to at least reach out or ask how her mess on my head is doing. This whole experience has been horrible & my hair is falling out. Ive gotten in contact with the state to see what could be done, if at the very least they can keep this on record.  If you do decide to go in there because of all the "rave & good reviews" be aware that you will come out of pocket for her mistakes & she will not take blame if she messes up because shes perfect at what she does & she went to Paul Mitchells schools of beauty. I can absolutely see why this salon is so highly rated! Everyone is so nice and they really take time to know their customers. While I was there, they were having someone come in for a touch up and the owner did her homework before the client even arrived so she could just get started. The service I received from Jesse was great...However they are WAY OVER PRICED for being in Salem.  You can receive a great cut and color for half the price they charge you at Havana. Jjust check out the groupon offers for hair in Salem..Havana is the most expensive one there for the same services.  If they lowered their prices I would go there again though. Read Less

I wanted something fresh and new done with  my hair and found Havana salon through groupon. I called and asked if they would be willing to substitute the offer on groupon (color/cut) for an ombre/cut. This was one of the few salons who were willing to do the substitute at a small fee. This was the best haircutting experience of my life! I have crazy long hair, and it took almost three hours to color, cut and style my hair. Jessica Schaefer made it such a fun and enjoyable experience. The color she used in my hair looks natural and compliments my hair and skin well. It also didn't dry out my hair.
