Went for the first time today and it was amazing. The pedicure was so relaxing and Paige is very friendly and makes her clients feel welcome and relaxed. This salon is marvelous. Very serene and relaxing . No loud radio no watching etc, there is a tv on there but it a serene picture with lovely calming meditation type music. The owner is very appreciative of your business there , they will ask how your visit is going. The young lady that was recommended to me I can't really say enough good about her Paige is fantastic. I'm sure the other staff are great too. It's not a hurry up and get gone. They do not rush .The pedi I got w...as slow and easy, she takes ample time massaging your feet and legs.And I don't have trouble communicating to what I want down. I tried the dip for first time , a little more expensive, but better for your nails. These are exactly my nails now with only the powder dip on them they are sooo pretty. My cuticles don't burn and swell like after using shellac. And folks the so many other things like wash and dry hair with a head massage , they do facials , waxing and so many more things. Searched for the closest place I could find with decent reviews on Yelp and found Nail Savvy Spa. I loved the ambiance--soft music playing, no TV, and no pictures of hands/feet on the walls. I felt welcome from the first moment I stepped in--Angie talked to me the whole time and shared a lot of knowledge about nail health with me. Their dog Leo was super sweet and very friendly. I loved sitting in a leather recliner for my manicure instead of a nail station. It's very relaxing to be able to sit back with your feet up while you get your nails done. She was super attentive to detail, too, and even chose herself to redo a nail or two that wasn't quite perfect. Thanks so much for the great experience, I'll definitely be back! Read Less

The color I got looked completely different than the color I asked for and I asked for a discount since this was their mistake and they only gave me $5 off saying I should stick around to have them redo it. In desperate need for a mani/pedi, I looked up the nearest place I could find with decent reviews on Yelp; came across Nail Savvy Spa.  Called 'em and they were able to fit me in before closing, which was in a little more than an hour from my phone call to them.  I think I may have found my new Portland-area salon.  For me, it's all about the ambiance & the message and they get an A+ in that department.  I appreciated there being soft music playing, available work search & crossword books, no TV, and no pictures of the cheesy manicured hands/feet or the fake hand sculptures that are typically more creepy and tacky than informative.  Instead, they had various reflexology-related information posted on the walls that gave the place more of a spa ambiance.  I also enjoyed the fact that it's a small shop; small and intimate.  They technicians were really friendly and seemed to go out of their way to talk TO the customers rather than the technicians just talking to each other in the presence of customers who don't understand their spoken language.  The lady that was sitting next to me was obviously a regular and you'd think that she and the technician that was working on her were long-time friends.  It all felt very inviting.  The pedi chairs were comfortable with the typical messaging features, water hot like I like it, and time was taken to give a good message before painting my tootsies.  Had I not been having a random allergy attack (unrelated to the salon), I would have been super content and relaxed with my complimentary glass of white wine.  What was really different for me,and will have me returning, was the leather recliner they sit you in to do the mani; instead of those typical nail stations that tend to be uncomfortable.  You just can't get more relaxed than sitting in a plush leather recliner while getting your hands massaged and nails painted.  Again, it would have been in heaven had it not been for my damn allergies.  Since I came so close to the shop closing, they tagged-teamed me in the recliner while one technician did my feet and another did my hands.  I kinda felt like royalty being catered to for a little while, which is a nice feeling for this single mom.  They finished up my messages with a nice paint job on both my feet and my hands while obviously taking care to pay attention to the details that make for a great set of painted nails.  And, as if that wasn't enough, they felt so bad for me and my fit of allergies that one technician gave me a shoulder/neck massage while in the recliner and recommended that I purchase some eucalyptus oil to help with the congestion, which was a huge help throughout the night.  And to round out the great experience, I didn't realize that they only take cash so they actually trusted me to leave to go to the nearest ATM to return with cash.  Needless to say, I VERY MUCH enjoyed my experience at Nail Savvy and will definitely be returning.  They've absolutely found themselves another regular patron.  Thanks, ladies!!! Wonderful, relaxing experience. Took a friend here by chance recently to get her nails done for her birthday. Great prices for manicures. I spent $30 on both our nails so I gave a $10 tip. They obliged our other friend in the massage chair while she waited for our nails to get done, that was dope. The chairs were amazing, never had a manicure reclined with my legs up, and piano soundtrack playing in the background. We also came close to closing time, around 6:30pm. Many shops turn you away (one actually did down the street 15 minutes before finding this location), but these ladies were awesome and they have an adorable, friendly shop dog as a company pet. highly recommended. Not impressed today.  Won't be coming back.  First, was charged $5 to have old shellac removed before getting a fresh shellac manicure. Really?!? Seems like that should be a part of the service, like when you take off off polish before a regular manicure.  Then it was a very fast mani with poor results. If what you like is personal service, a great leg or arm massage, super comfy chairs and wine along with your polish, this is the place for you. They even have shorts and flip flops if you came unprepared. And skip bringing your own file bag. It's included!But if you want carefully trimmed cuticles or short toenails, forget it. Writing this review from the salon! I came here because of the Yelp reviews and was pleasantly surprised. This is my first time in as I have been looking high and low for a good nail salon in the SW Portland area for almost a year now and this is the best I have found! Not only do my nails look clean but they matched the color very well. My toes are just as short as I asked my finger nails are just as long. The polish is even and she cleaned up well around the edges after. Thui did a wonderful job!!I also very much enjoy the environment. There are several regular customers in here, some that have been going as long as 20 years! The air is clean and well filtered--it didn't feel stuffy even with the door closed. All of the workers are friendly and seem happy, even the women who were not doing my nails asked my name and how I was.Love this place and I absolutely plan on coming back. Thanks Savvy Nails! Annie absolutely saved my life! I had just come back from getting my acrylics done at another salon (which I won't name) and was so frustrated at how thick and misshaped they were. I called desperately trying to find someone who could fix them and Annie took me as her last client even though they were 10 mins from closing. The lady was rude and did not do what I wanted on anything from the shape of my nails to color and add-ons I asked for acrylic, thinking she new what I wanted " mind you I showed her a pic " I wanted blue and white tips. She said those or enoying to do, she said no by this time she had the acrylic covering the hole nail. and she answered that the pic I showed her was" gel " mind you it's acrylic powder /gel. mean time she painted my tips a almost purple blue really dark. It's been 3 day and my nails look so bad. If I wanted nail polish I would have did them my self... I will never come back. I don't get how she put her opinion frist over the customer chocie. Small but quaint and nice, and worth the price. $50 for a pedicure & shellac mani, which for a job well done I thought it was a good price. Angie did a great job and her sweet pooch Leo sat on my lap for the entire visit. The pedicure massage chairs are wonderful and they have big comfy recliners that they do your mani on. Everything you want from a nail salon and more! First, it's the cleanest, most tastefully decorated salon I've ever attended. The service is top-notch. Angie is meticulous, knows foot health care, and does reflexology massage. The atmosphere is serene and soothing. Even the bathroom is sparkling clean and beautifully decorated. It costs a very few dollars more than the run-of-the-mill nail place, but well worth it, even on a limited budget. I have been going to Nail Savvy for 7 years. I have had acrylic nails, reflexology, pedicures, facials and waxing of the eye brows. Angie is the best. Each customer is important to her. She will pamper you and you will feel that you are special. When I get pedicures, I always know that Angie is looking closely at my nails to avoid any problems such as fungus, ingrown toenails etc. I had acrylic nails for 3 years and Angie found some fungus growth on one of my fingernails and told me that we needed to treat the fungus to get rid of it before she could apply more nails. She not only did what was best for me but did so with a loss of income for her. I knew then that my nail health was of the utmost importance to her and she would take care of me like I was family. Cleanliness is also a huge factor in her salon. From the tools she uses to the pedicure spa to the chairs you sit in. She goes above and beyond what is demanded by the State of Oregon. I'm a guy, and I have had a couple of manicures and waxing in the past, but none was as great as the service and care they provided me at this place. I got a relaxing massage on my hands & feet before they worked on my nails. The care & attention they gave me was excellent & their equipment/place is very sanitized so i wasn't worried about getting any infections. I also got my back waxed & it didn't hurt, which was amazing since I've been getting it done for the last ten years & each time tears always seem to well up in my eyes. The nail technican Angie is very professional & nice, she gave me a few tips on how to care for my nails & she was nice to talk to.
