I dream I'm a rich woman so I could go every week but I do go once a year to treat myself. And let me tell you! I never can wait to go back! As the months pass and my annual visit comes closer I am always so impatient last year a healing oil was used during my massage to help with my body issues and so I purchased a bottle to take home (very well priced for the ammount!) I still have about 1/3 of the bottle left and this is after using it for almost 9 months! I use it about once a week on just my hands and face but still! My mediocre review has nothing to do with the wonderful job of the aesthetician Angie.  My first facial here was the Epicurean facial and it was absolutely amazing! It took my breath away and I raved about it to everyone!  My husband purchased me a three dollar gift certificate when I was eight months pregnant for me to enjoy after the baby was here for some pampering. I subsequently scheduled two more facials and unfortunately, ran into snags with both attempts.When I called for my second facial, I requested the same facial type as I did on my first one. Instead they gave me the signature facial which I didn't enjoy and was considerably more expensive.When I called for my third facial, I specifically requested the Epicurean facial with Angie.  They told me the days she was available during the holidays, and I found a date when she was working and scheduled it three weeks in advance.  The day before my scheduled facial, I received a call from the receptionist asking that I postpone my appointment for 15 minutes to help accommodate scheduling for that day. That obviously was not a problem and so I showed up to my appointment per their request.When I arrived, they informed me that Angie was not going to give me a facial. I told her that was unfortunate because that's the reason why I scheduled for that day. They apologized and said I could reschedule and go from there. The disappointing thing is I've been looking forward to this for weeks, and being a new mom, you need every type of break to get away and be pampered. Unfortunately, my generous gift card had been tampered with on their end twice and both unnecessarily.  Today's disappointing cancellation meant an hour and a half drive in rush hour traffic, quite the opposite effect of a relaxing facial.If 66% of the time they make a mistake with scheduling and you're paying for a high quality, pampered experience, then they really need to spend more time training their front office staff.  These are easily avoidable mistakes that really put a negative taste in my mouth when considering recommending them in the future or even scheduling another facial. I love this place! I don't pamper myself as much as I should but I have had 2 services here and both were wonderful! The whole spa smells very nice and it is very clean. The service I had was a sugar body scrub which I had never had before coming here. It was amazing and the smell of the scrub was so relaxing and refreshing. The second service I received was a facial. It was just as enjoyable as the body scrub I felt the esthetician listens to my skin concerns and came up with a wonderful facial to treat my concerns. Blooming moon is the best spa in Portland! The location is great, everyone that works there; from receptionist to technicians are amazing and I love their all natural products and the beautiful spa. I wish I could give this place zero stars. Not based on their actual services but on their poor customer service. I booked a several hours long (and several hundred dollars) appointment with them nearly a month ago to celebrate a special occasion. Two hours before we're supposed to arrive, they call to cancel - two hours! I had a whole special day planned around this appointment and all they could do was offer to reschedule at a discounted rate - or have one of us come in. If I schedule a couples massage with foot treatment, why would just one of us come in? I understand people get sick - but how do you not plan for that?! How do you not have backup ready to accommodate your customers? I find this incredibly unprofessional and so disappointing. Blissful! I went to Blooming Moon Wellness Spa for the first time this weekend, and could not be more pleased! The space was tranquil and refreshing, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure I was relaxed and happy. I purchased the "Bare Your Souls" Deluxe Spa Pedicure with an additional hot stone massage, and oh my goodness.... what a treat! (Do try the Eucalyptus lotion - it's amazing!) Kaitlyn was my nail tech, and she was so professional, personable, and did a wonderful job on both my nails and my massage. I even saw her the next day while out and about, and she made sure to say hello. I came here with my mom a few days ago for her birthday and we got a deluxe pedicure. While I enjoyed the private area, and the super nice and bubbly nail techs, I was incredibly disappointed in the service itself. We each paid more than a normal pedicure would cost and I felt cheated. The ladies hardly scrubbed our feet, I literally do a better job with a pumice in the shower. I am remiss in writing this review from my appointment about a month ago. I splurged and went with the Peppermint Me Package and let me just tell you, it was incredible. Worth it!!!! Sara (h) did an amazing job with the scrub and the massage. The steamy shower was amazing and did wonders for my allergies. Melissa was so fun and gave me a great mini facial. We had a blast during my pedicure, as she was super fun to talk with. I had an incredible experience getting a glow and renewal facial spa treatment here, and was helped by Angie Alverson! She made it such a wonderful and relaxing time, and did the most amazing facial treatments including the lighten & brighten brown spots, extractions, led light therapy, hyperpigmentation and sun-damaged skin.(products included microderm, pro-collagen,  pro-biotic and zinc treatments) and and anti-aging. While I do enjoy massage and have had very good massages, I felt Taylor was able to address my requested issues really effectively in a way where I felt the results immediately, and my husband reported the same for his massage. This spa is great! Very relaxing atmosphere and I loved the decor and arrangements. I had a mini facial and 90 minute massage. I have been a client of Blooming Moon throughout my pregnancy and have enjoyed my massages with my monthly wellness package. My massage therapist goes above and beyond to make sure I'm comfortable and to help me understand the aches and pains of pregnancy. My friend and I wanted to have a pampering spa day so we chose to try Blooming Moon's Sakura package. It was amazing! It began with a 90 minute back massage that completely relaxed both of us. Then, we were able to stay in our beds and receive the facial treatment. If that wasn't enough, it ended with a pedicure. We left very relaxed when we left (3 1/2 hours later.) I was greeted right away and brought to a little waiting area where there is water, tea and mints to enjoy while I tried to quiet my mind and get in the "spa mood".Victoria, my esthetician, took time to ask about my skin, recommend some cleansing and moisturizing tips, and was gentle and thorough during the one hour relaxing soothing facial - one hour felt like 15 minutes! Blooming Moon is by far my favorite spa in Portland, and I've checked out quite a few. I usually visit a variety of places for different services, but after a year and a half it's hard to think about going anywhere other than Blooming Moon. Their wide variety of services are consistently amazing. Ginny is by far the best eyebrow waxer in Portland...and I'm pretty particular about how I like them done. She's seriously made an art of it. Her facials are a bit like dying and going to heaven. If I could I'd treat everyone I love to one of these! I've been to lots of spas where they'll put a mask on you and leave the room, but not at Blooming Moon. From start to finish she's working on you're body... whether it's a hand massage or the killer foot massage. Total pampering. Not to mention my skin felt great and sparkled for days after. Everyone that works there is cool, friendly and real. And they're incredibly knowledgeable about the products they carry. They just moved to N Killingsworth and the new location is stunning. I came to the Blooming Moon on my day off last week for a facial and foot soak and scrub. The facial was wonderful - the esthetician seemed to apply endless masks and really tended to my skin, asking questions along the way, and recommended some really good products for me as well, based on my sensitive skin. I didn't know what to expect for the milk foot soak, since I've never had one before, but it sounded like a good idea. I sat on a fluffy couch in a candlelit room with lots of pillows as they brought in a huge turquoise basin of hot, lime scented water. Since I'm vegan, I requested coconut milk instead of regular milk in the water, which they were MORE than happy to do. The papaya foot scrub was amazing - it smelled like i was on an island! I left the spa with the Epicuren fine herbal scrub (i never exfoliate enough!), and some aloe for moisturizer (it was only $9!). I love how close the spa is located to shopping and amazing food! I can't say enough good things about Ginny's facials. I received a gift certificate from my boyfriend for one of Ginny's facials and I was amazed at the results. I am 52 and I had never had a facial before. My skin responded so well to her facial treatment. The deeper lines diminished to much finer lines, the lines around my mouth and eyes were barely visable afterwards, my pores diminished, and . . . the acne-prone area around me chin cleared up for weeks without further problems. The mask, chemical peel and other treatments she used on my face worked wonders. (My boyfriend immediately noticed.) Not to mention the wonderful facial, neck, shoulder, arms, hands and feet massage that she throws in on top of this wonderful facial. Well, now I'm hooked! I talked my boyfriend into giving me another gift certificate 60 days later, which I used this week. I've now decided that I can't live without them and I plan to treat myself every other month to a facial, as I think they are a necessity if you are trying to ward off the extra wrinkles and can't afford plastic surgery. I'm so hooked that I'm going to give my grown daughters gift certificates for facials and/or massages as they will absolutely love them. Update, a year later....I have been going to Casey for facials, waxing, eyebrow and eyelash tinting etc. for the past year and have always had great results. She has had excellent suggestions for my skin that has really helped my skin continue to look great even a month after my facial. Also the eyelash tinting seems to last longer than anywhere else I have had it done. Sept. 2009: The facial was so great, I came out refreshed and looking like a new woman. I honestly can't remember when I was as relaxed and peaceful as I was during my facial. I LOVE that with the facial comes a shoulder, arm, foot and leg massage.
