I’ve been here twice; my first time I came and got exactly what I wanted. My second time, I came with nails I got done at another place that turned out horrible, true horror story. I took my 2 year old for her first pedicure, I was worried how she would be with someone touching her feet, but Heather was so amazing and made her feel comfortable and relaxed. My 2 year old enjoyed it so much. If you don’t have a nail kit (file, brush etc) you will have to buy one, but it’s only $2 and you get to keep it so you have it next time! Today I went to Isse's because for the past 2 months I have stopped biting my nails, I bit my nails for 15plus years. I wanted to get my natural long nails some coating of nail polish done in a french nail style. They suggested I do shellac nail polish which would cost 30$ Upon walking into the salon I was blown away! I have been here once almost 6 years ago and it def did not look like this.. they did a remodel about three years ago and I think it looks phenomenal! It is so ...relaxing, feels like you have stepped into a new world, the art on the walls and the lil water fountain they had on the back table everything is gorgeous here even the sinks! You would never know from the outside appearance that when you stepped through those doors it was like a hidden gem... The nail ladies were all so nice and asked you if you needed a drink. I asked for water but I was unaware some women were sipping wine and champagne! Like wow! There work is very thorough, precise, and defined. They are fast at what they do and do it right! They asked if I wanted a wax treatment which would be 5$ more.. I didnt know what that was and she said it makes your skin soft, so I was like okay ill try it. before that she put some oil on my hands and massaged it in, it felt really good, never gotten a hand massage before, then she filled up a bag of warm wax and you place your hands in it for 5min then wash. OMG my hands are so soft! My nails look great! I love this place so much I want to go back and its prob the only nail salon I will ever go to! I LOVE this place. After trying many places multiple times I have found Isse to be superb. The ambiance is classy & calming from the lighting to the decor & music. All very pleasing. Even in the restrooms. Everyone is very accommodating. When I make an appt i get on time with everything prepared for my arrival. This is imperative for me. Very clean, professional and friendly. Definitely a relaxing spa environment.  Got me in fast for being a walk-in. I had a great pedicure. For removing gel, a new nail kit and their basic chair pedicure with gel polish, it was $40. The manicurist was very efficient with her time but not rushing whatsoever. I really want to like Isse Salon, but I won't be back. My first visit was okay. Friendly people, glass of wine, nice ambiance, but I was not impressed with my nails (I had a shellac mani and regular pedi). Overall a good visit so I thought I'd give them a second try...I returned 2-weeks later (7/13/17) in the early evening. I scheduled an appointment for a shellac mani only and arrived 10-minutes before my appointment. They got me in quickly but I was rushed the entire time. The gal who took care of me was incredibly condescending, talking down to me the entire time about my requests. I considered leaving, but didn't want to be rude so stayed. She was a bit aggressive, even cutting me around the nail, which has left an ugly bloody spot even this morning (the following day). She used tools that had been used on folks before me. They're friendly, the spa is clean, and nice atmosphere. But my experience wasn't that great. I got a pedicure and it was pretty typical.. got asked if I wanted to spend "$5 more for paraffin wax" or "$10 more for hot stone"... ummmm  I want to relax and feel pampered, not upsold on things that sound nice but I don't really feel like spending $15 more for a nice pedi. So I agreed to the $5 more Then on to my fill....  I showed the lady a picture of the shape, and color scheme I wanted. She glanced and then said "ok yea, narrow.. that design is $5 more". I was like.. "ummm  it's just using 2 different colors .. no design" then I was like.. whatever.. so I had a few broken nails and she said each one was $2 each to fix.. ok  so she started filing my nails down, and cut my fingerOUCH!! I told her and so instead of continuing to shape the nail she just moved on. Then, one nail she fixed was totally crooked and bumpy.. when I told her she said my finger was crooked (see comedian Angela Jonson for nail salon) anyways.. I asked for a stiletto nail(sharp tip) and I had to ask this lady to continue to file them because they were uneven.   I was in so much pain from the cut, and the burning chemicals she poured onto it after getting acrylics stuck to the skin. I wanted to leave but had no choice but to finish. I told her to forget the "design" cause I was over it. $72 later.... the front desk asked to take a picture of my nails but I told her that the only reason they look good is cause I had to tell the lady (short hair w glasses) the whole time what to do! *** update*** Sophia the head receptionist days later called to make it right. The owner agreed to refund me some of what I was charged**** STILL Had the most painful pedicure I've had EVER... they rubbed the skin around my nails raw, "fixed" and in grown nail ( that I didn't know I had-- it would be painful prior if I had one) made me bleed. Then proceeded to spray alcohol to clean my skin and use acetone for touch ups which stung to high heaven and they did it on more than one occasion. I also got the paraffin wax ( and Upsell which they never mentioned it wasn't included-- I've been to enough to know it was) and that was so hot it burned my skin which was already tender from the "work" finally the woman proceeded to give me my massage in a half ass way. Using one hand while perusing her text messages... horrible To add insult they charged me $45...I had called before (on Monday-- went for the pedicure Wednesday)and had been told $30 and when I brought it to the business owners attention. She said her receptionist was new and made a mistake who I told her I didn't talk to. I spoke with a nail technician with and accent...she had her receptionist take my name and number and then had the receptionist call me back. Break down the services, offering no reconciliation. The Inside is clean and the complimentary glass of wine is great but the pedicure left me in pain. First the water was boiling hot, asked for it to be cooledDown but it was too late. Then she took my gel off with the drill and took off the skin around my nails with the gel. THEN  took an "ingrown nail" out without telling me until I yelped in pain. Left me bleeding and to top it off.... then sprayed alcohol over all the toes, twice and used acetone for some touch ups. Worst pedicure I've had in YEARS. And to add to the bad... I had called Monday asking the price for a gel pedicure quoted $30 and then was charged $45! I can get the same pedicure for $30 in Los Angles... ridiculous. Literally the only nail place I go to anymore. They are one of the only places in town to do real gel (not shellac) and now with the dipping powder, they are amazing. I love this place. But today I left with one of the most horrific fingernail experience. My pedicure from Vicki was amazing!!!! Then I moved to my nails by another lady and they just feel jacked up. I have numerous small cuts on the side of my nails where she kept filing them. 7 out of 10 of my fingers have small cuts that feel like paper cuts. I tried the "nexgen" nails which I was impressed with at the beginning. But left my nails in a sloppy mess on top of now having cuts on the side of my fingernails.  I love this place and I will go back. My experience here with a couple of friends as well as with my sisters and mom was terrible. The ladies seemed to be in a rush and hurried through every step even though there was barely anyone else in the salon. However,  I'm sad to say,  the  last few times I've been there I was disappointed...  The super young small girl that hardly talks probably shouldn't be doing nails the way she is for $35 a fill.  I mean it's bad..... Absolutely horrific experience getting a lash extension fill. Pretty sure she taped my lower lashes down with scotch tape. Dropped the tweezers on the floor & continued to use them. Left me lying on table and never saw her again when done because she was on to a nail client without saying anything. Got home to check them out & was mortified. The were so stiff & brittle they hurt!! Clumps of glue on every lash, I'm pretty sure she used super glue!! Had 5 of them break off with my natural lashes attached the very next day. I was almost bald by the next week! Fell out daily, and I know not previous salon because these all had clumps of glue attached!To add insult to injury it cost me $35 dollars(!!!!) more than I paid at a fancy salon in downtown Portland!!!!! I have been here before and absolutely loved it the first time I came. Today however was terrible. I will begin by admitting that I am extremely picky about my toe nails matching my finger nails. Now when I came in it was about 5:30 and they close at 7. I asked to get a pedicure and fake nails. It took about 20 minutes for them to understand what type of fake nails I wanted. After that she said okay and gave me colors to pick out. I picked out colors and she did my pedicure. Then she said okay we're done. I asked about getting my nails done and they said they didn't have time. I leave on vacation tomorrow and cannot come back. Thus I left with just my toes done and even if I did have time to go to a different salon (which I don't) the colors won't match. Just wish they would have communicated a little better because if I had known that they didn't have time to do my manicure I wouldn't have gotten the pedicure. What a fantastic time and excellent service provided by Kitty and staff. I had to make an early appointment for 6 women for special occasion. Kitty opened salon an hour early to accommodate our large party. We all had pedicures and gel nails(each give our own nailFile and extras for extra hygiene value) and we're delighted by the special treats provided to help us celebrate. We all had a blast. Not your average salon! Although the prices are. So a win, win for everyone.The salon is well designed and decorated. It's not your typical, cheap look. Its modern and hip and even the layout is smart. However, I don't live in Or. My family does...wish they had one in Ca.! This place is the WORST! I made an appt on my lunch break at 11am. I arrived at 10:55 and was sat at 11:00am...going good so far! I told her I had to be out by 11:40 to be back to work on time. I picked a color and the nail tech put the stuff on my nails to remove the shellac I currently had on my nails. She said she would be right back and went to go blow dry someone's hair. There were a few nail techs walking around doing nothing so I was baffled that I was the only person who was getting juggled around like an idiot. I sat there, and sat there and sat there til at 11:22 I realized she wasn't going to have time to get my gel off, do a manicure and have me out by 11:40. If she still planned to do it, it would have been a rushed crappy job anyway. So now I'm back at work with cracked peeling shellac and will NEVER go back to this place. Read Less

My mom and sister and I come here when we need haircuts, waxing and mani/pedis. They do a fantastic job...especially for the limited light they have to work with.  The colors of nail polish are hard for us to see and we're thankful for the good haircuts and coloring we receive even though the lighting is poor. I've been going to Isse for 4 years now. At first it was only to get my eyebrows waxed ($10)- perfect every time! Then I started going there to get my nails done for special occasions - $25 for a basic set. Great price and great quality. Today for the 1st time I got my hair cut there. I've worn my hair straight for years and wanted something same, yet different. So I went with long layers and she did an amazing job! I was so pleased. Pedicure & manicure our nice, but I hesitate to go in because they are always cross selling you the whole time you are there. One of the older ladies told me I looked like a man and needed a mustache wax while I was getting my eyebrows done( I took it in good humor, although I don't think she was kidding). haircuts can be inconsistent, sometimes the men cuts are great and other times they don't do that great of a job.
