I went here to get a French manicure in gel nail polish. My nails are absolutely hideous. I was there for over an hour with Jasmine working on my nails. She started putting the nail polish on over my clear coat from home. I had to tell her it was still there. I asked her about my cuticles needing to be pushed back because she, again, just started to paint my nails without doing any prep to my nails at all. The nail polish was too streaky, which I told her not wanting to watch a disaster happen. She decided to fix it with a second coat which was globbed on way to thick. I told her there was no way I could do that. She took that off, put the white tips on and then filled in the other part of the nail with polish. I have parts of my nails that aren't covered, I had to repeatedly point out areas that she was missing, parts she wasn't bringing the brush all the way back. I finally gave up. After over an hour of this and my nails 'completed' she looked at them and said we could take them off and start over. I was not about to go through the pain of another hour with her attempting to do some godawful polish job on my nails again. I said I've already been here for an hour, I'll have to come back and have them removed and redone later. Her response? "Ok, will it be cash or card?" My nails are all bubbly looking and uneven, which you can't see too well in the pictures, and there's nail polish on my cuticles. Keep in min, these were done YESTERDAY. I don't know about the other nail techs, but I definitely will NEVER see Jasmine again. And it certainly worries me that they hire someone to work there that is this bad. Read Less

I went to Denise to fix a haircut disaster from a different salon and had an appointment at 4pm. I asked for a layered bob. She was nice and seemed to know what she was doing but towards the end she began to rush because her 5pm appointment walked in. As she finished up around 5:15, she said my hair texture was ... and didn't finish her sentence. She was trying to say my hair texture made it difficult for her. Im Asian with asian type hair. Then said my hairline was weird and razored the back a little and sent me off. Its crooked btw. She also didn't tell me how much I owed her but took my card and swiped it. She did, however, offer to fix anything I didn't like because she "guarantees her work". But I don't feel confident going back. My bob layers are very visible and need to be softened. I went for the highlight deal and Denise was very fast which was nice... The color turned out good, and it was just basic partial highlights just enough to break up my color. I would recommend taking in your own comb and brushing out your hair yourself. I have never experienced a hairstylist brushing through wet highlighted hair. Yes, my hair gets matted after it is bleached, but for the last 2 years I use only a wide, wide tooth comb on my hair so that I don't get split ends and just to watch someone brush from the top down pulling down through the tangles, omg, I couldn't believe I was watching her do this and I wish I would have said something, it just happened so fast, but now I know for next time to bring my own comb and comb it out myself... uggg, I paid for split ends.. kinda depressed, but I will get over it, at least I have highlighted split ends :) Read Less

Met my new hair stylist today, Mindy. Perfect cut to bring out my natural curl and love the highlight coloring. Mindy is so personable and my hair turned out just the way i was hoping. Karin did a great job on my hair! She was really nice and talkative. My folks bought me a groupon for this salon to get my hair highlighted and I was not disappointed! The salon is located right by a good public parking lot so parking was easy. The salon was busy and everyone was happy and laughing. I'll definitely come back! Read Less

WOW!  I cannot believe the bad reviews I just read!  I love this place and have been coming here for over three years now.  Denise does my hair and does an outstanding job!  I get complements on my hair every week!!!  Plus, she is soooo nice and makes me feel like family when I come in.  I get my nails and toes done here as well by Katy.  She is awesome!!!!  I am always pleased with her work and get complements on my nails and toes as well.  I have ALWAYS been treated kindly by the receptionist too.  I have to add that the price of their services are amazing!l!  Love, love, love coming here.  I have nothing but respect for the ladies who work here.  Thank you for making me beautiful!!!  Muahhhh! Everyone there was very nice. I came in early for a haircut with Venus. she started right when I got there. I asked last minute if I could get an eyebrow wax as well. she did that first so I didn't walk out with a red face.. very considerate.  She also did a great job on the haircut, exactly what I wanted from an old picture. Venus gave great tips for styling and there was no pressure to buy the products used.. refreshing. I left there feeling great and not much money spent. Very pleased overall. Read Less

I have been getting my hair done here for years, and even still drive all the way here from hillsboro since I moved. The receptionists are friendly and always offer coffee or water while waiting. Paula is the best stylist,  ask for her if you are new to the place. Quaint location right in the heart of downtown gresham, only pet peeve is minimal parking. Read Less

As the door said "Walk-ins welcome" I went in to see if they had anyone with time to do a set of acrylics. I mistakenly said "manicure" first, and the older receptionist chewed me out, saying, "What you are asking for IS NOT a manicure, it is a FULL SET OF ACRYLIC and is completely different." I looked at unsure of why she needed to be so rude, but said. "okay, does anyone have time to do a set of acrylics." She wandered back and came out two seconds later telling me No, and then said. "you really should have made an appointment. It's always best to make an appointment, you really should." Okay lady, well obviously I'm going to be seen if I make an appointment. But I don't often find myself in downtown Gresham trying to get my nails done, nor had I EVER heard of this place before. Awful, Horrible, Made me cry haircut.  I saw Denise.  I showed her a picture of a bob, and got hacked.  One friend described me as having a mullet, another told me it was the worst haircut she'd ever seen.  I'm someone who is never happy at the salon, its not until I get home and style my hair myself before I know if I like it.  I've never had a bad haircut before, sometime I don't always get what I want, but its never bad.  This was beyond bad.  It was uneven, the layers(that should not have been there) were cut way to high leaving the stylist who fixed my hair barely anything to work with.  Not only was it a bad cut, it aged me 30 years, not something any 26 year old wants.Anyways, after I got over the shock and tears I got an appointment with a friend's stylist.  Emily at Evolution.....I could kiss her.  I'm off to write her a great review now.  She truly saved what Nails on First and Hair Second destroyed.p.s. This salon, and Stacy the stylist are great. I have been to this salon numerous times and saw Stacy. She's a great stylist and is so nice and chatty. She really listened to what I wanted and gave me exactly what I wanted. She took her time, and I could really tell that she put good work into whatever she was doing. She also gave me some really good advice too. I also liked how the salon has complementary water, coffee and tea to drink.The prices are great too. I spent less than $100 for a cut and color.
