Came here with 3 of my friends, service was good. I got just plain shellac. I'm giving 2 stars because after my nails were done she charged me $28... seems pretty steep for plain shellac. Nowhere do their prices show $28 for shellac. An acrylic full set is priced at $25? Makes no sense to me and feel ripped off! Read Less

I'm writing this for my mom. She was a very long time client of this salon until yesterday. She was treated with such a terrible attitude and rude service. After being a client for almost 10 years she won't be coming back. Unless you like rude service and not having your nails done right, don't go here. Sad thing is, they probably don't even care. First and only time I will come to get my nails done here. I got acrylic nails done while shaping my nails the nail tech was rough and actually filed my skin and tearing it to the point it bled. Yes this was a painful experience which has pretty much traumatized me. The nails were uneven and not straight and super far from the cuticle. I wish I could give this place a zero but it won't let me. Two people were sitting in the pedicure chairs and one was doing someone's nails. When asked what I needed I said I was wanting to get a full set of acrylic nails done. They said something back and forth in another language. And then said come back at 4 to sign in and leave my number. I said ok and went to go finish my errands. When I came back shortly after 4 and they were closed! More than 40 minutes early from their posted business hours! No call no nothing just a big waste of my time and energy. Do not go here! I bought a mani/pedi certificate for my friend. She said when she came in the owner was very rude to her. What was supposed to be relaxing for her turned into a rushed mani and pedi. While she was getting her toes painted they started doing her nails and giving different directions. She wasn't able to sit. Ack and relax. I went here because of the great reviews.. I called ahead and got a appointment with Angie. She does have a pretty good personality...In the middle of my appointment she took a FaceTime call ( I actually didn't mind) but I felt she was rushing my appointment half way through... once I got home and looked at my nails, one was really lopsided and the paint was already chipping off on 2 nails.. after a week they were already popping off.. Found her to be just a little proud, and also would ask something and with no response to my answer start talking to her employee in there language. Yelp you let me down! This is the worst salon I've ever been to. The lady working the front desk was unbelievably rude from the start. While the woman did a decent job pairing my toes, it was hardly a pedicure. No massage. Nothing. I'm a shellac regular and I've never seen anyone do such a bad job in my life. They're bumpy, my skin is covered in shellac top coat and by day three post manicure, two entire nails chip off. Did I mention she cut my finger so bad that it looked like a crime occurred? This was very disappointing, and I feel like Yelp let me down! I came in for a shellac manicure and the entire thing seemed lazy and rushed, even though the salon was empty. The nail technician put the gel color and top coat on so sloppily that it was all over my skin. When I pointed it out to her, she went back and pulled my skin from the sides of my nails and FILED the gel off of my skin. SO uncomfortable! And definitely not the technique I'm accustomed to.  $28 is more than I usually pay for a shellac and they also charge an extra dollar for using a credit card. They need to consider changing their name to nails never . We have had appointments that were made for two and they could only take one...inconsistent quality and pricing...even with appointment they are never on time...weekends are precious to weekday workers and they have spoiled our Sunday for the last time . We don't always have time to go to Youngs nail spa but will make the time in the future it's well worth the extra time and cost to feel truly relaxed,which after all is what this experience is all about. First let me just say that I was at the salon the day that Christine J. was in the salon !!! Her review is a lie ! Her credit card was ran for the incorrect amount and Angie simply asked if she could void the charge and refund her then charge the correct amount Christine J. got loud and rude ! Also no one was rude to her disabled mother in fact they went out of their way to give her special attention and even decorated her fingernail for free! Shame on you Christine J... I would encourage you to remember that what comes around goes around !! My partner and I came here for pedicures. Although relaxing. I thought it was unclean that they were reusing files and scrubbers from previous guests. Which was a correct assumption as both of us developed a serious nail and toe fungal infection a couple days later. We're completely grossed out!!!!!  Yikes!! Read Less

Angie saved my nails!!!! She squeezed me into her busy schedule and saved my frail nails. I had solar nails for awhile to grow out my real ones, and the place I usually went to closes before I got off work, so I ended up taking them off since they were breaking off anyways, and as a nail biter for pretty much my whole life I had the temptation to bite my grown nails, so I looked on Yelp and found this gem and called to see if they could take me, and Angie told me to come in and she would take care of me. I am sooo happy, my gel nails look amazing, and the price was surprisingly cheap. This is the first time I have real nails, I am so thankful for Angie helping me out.  I am now a life customer here. Once again it is so freaking hot in here!! :/ It's 82 degrees outside and they have the door wide open instead of the A/C. On! It's really hard to relax when its hot.The women that did my pedicure seemed upset and  put out that she had to do my pedicure. She barely massaged my legs and feet. I get my pedicures there and always am happy with Angie and her staff. Little extras like a flower or swish make a difference. And frankly I go mainly for the great foot and leg massages. My daughter and her friends used to get their nails done there for prom and turned  me on to this place.  They always treat you like old friends! I would give  5* if they offered wine ! Read Less

Twice I have tried to used this establishment and was turned away. Today there were only two technicians, the owner and another. They were both on their phones with no guests in the salon. Not so pleased with the service at this salon. Called about an hour before going in to ask about their prices for gel polish. I was quoted $15 for a manicure which seemed too cheap to be true so I figured it would probably be between $25-$30 which I've found to be pretty typical. When I arrived I had to call the ladies' attention to the fact I was even there since there was no one behind the counter to greet me. I was okay with it since I'm the kind of person who only spends the $30-$40 about once every 6 months or so when my nails start to get dry and cracked to the point I can't really keep up with them myself.  So I don't really want a social experience when interacting with my manicurist. Still, the woman didn't say one word to me and I could tell the other ladies were not interacting at all with their clients which made me feel a little uneasy, like we were annoying to them.  Overall she did a good job on my nails. I wouldnt reccomend this place unless you just want basic service with basic results. UPDATE: My gel mani lasted over two weeks which is impressive but I was told by a lady at the salon I went to to remove the gel that they used the glue normally used for acrylic nails instead of the shellac base coat. She said that's probably why my nails we dry and cracked after removing the gel. Not too pleased, especially if that's why they lasted so long and not because of the actual manicure. Read Less

Angie, the owner, used to do my nails when I was a teenager/in my early twenties and had a place in N. Portland.  For about 10+ years, I gave my nails a break and removed the acrylic, but when I put them back on, my sister happened to walk into Nails Now and told me that it was Angie's place.  I've been going to Angie ever since - she really is the best at what she does.  I've had acrylics and gone for fills at other salons in the Portland area, and have always had corners of my nails chip off, or other issues.  With Angie, my nails always hold up (even when I've waited 4 weeks in between appointments!).  I definitely recommend Angie's services - I drive to Clackamas from NE Portland for her alone. I don't know how many times I've just shown up to Nails Now without an appointment and they've squeezed me in. Even if I call ahead they can usually get me in the same day....both without making me feel like they're doing me a favor. The girls are friendly and funny; they'll make you feel right at home.
