Walked in for pedicures with my family around 11AM right when they opened.. None of us were not offered refreshments while we waited patiently 35 mins marinating in the foot spa. I ran in before a holiday party. I had waited until the last minute to get my fingernails and toenails done. They could see the look of distress on my face got me in without an appointment quickly did an incredible job on my nails they looked amazing both fingernails and toenails and got me on my way to my holiday party and plenty of time. I decided to try V&V nails because it was on my way to work and I wasn't able to go to my usual nail salon. I had the pleasure of having Cindy do my nails and she did a fantastic job! I never have a great experience if I go anywhere other then my usual place but this was definitely a great experience. I looked at these reviews and I am totally shocked. I have been going to V & V Nails since they opened (and before at another place). The owners are wonderful and so are ALL their staff. I have different manicurist all the time, some speak better English than others but that has never made them treat me badly. They greet me by name, they are excited to see me and my daughter and granddaughters when I have the opportunity to bring them. I have NEVER waited more than 10 minutes even when there where 4 people in front of me and the place was packed. I have never been treated badly or had a bad job done whether it is it is a mani or a pedi. The staff make sure I don't mess my nails up as a routine. First and last time at V&V nail spa. Jessica was so rude! I got a full set of Solar nails which I love to wear clear. Their Solar powder is so old that it's clumpy and I have bubbles in my nails and I have glue all over my finger nails. Her work is sloppy and her customer service was awful. I use to enjoy coming here, but the last few times have been horrible. When I went in I explained that the last time I was there; my shellac had chipped off within 2 days and I was showing them that my toes nail were filed crooked and I wanted them to file them right this time. The lady acted like she couldn't understand me; she kept saying I didn't do your nails last time. They sent 2 other workers over to try an assist me, but they as well, acted like they couldn't understand me. My husband had prepaid for me; I asked for a refund and left. I will not be returning. I used to SWEAR by this place. I'd tell everyone to go here for excellent service and beautiful  nails. But I can say that after my last visit I will never be going again.I had gotten acrylics done and they looked gorgeous but after 2 days they broke and started to bubble. This wasn't the problem, but I called and asked them about this. They told me to come in and get them fixed for free. I was very happy about this.When I got there I told them multiple times how I was getting them fixed for free. I gave them who I talked to, when I called and when I got them done. Everyone seemed to understand what I was there for. Except the girl doing my nails. After asking me several times "fix? Fix?" And me agreeing, she began to fill my nails. Now, at that time, I didn't know what I fill looked like, I have never had the money to ever fill my nails I usually let them grow out. I didn't stop her because I thought she was fixing them like she asked. Now fills aren't free. I had 3 dollars in my bank account and no way to pay these ladies. She asked "how will you be paying?" And I said "this was supposed to be free?" And she started to yell. In front of everyone she yelled and yelled and I repeated "this isn't what I asked for" and she said "I asked if you wanted fill you said yes!" And I said "no I came for a fix" and she continued to yell.This is where it got bad. She went and got the manager and I was already having a panic attack. I've never even cheaped out on tipping let alone an entire service. I tried to explain everything to the manager and told them exactly what happened. The girl who did my nails continued to yell "liar!" At me while I spoke and the manager kept repeating "you can't get labor for free" which I understood and I never wanted free labor. After a long nd loud argument in front of the 30+ people in the shop she finally said "I can fix this". She then got clippers out of her drawer and held me down forcibly and continued to chop off my nails one by one without caution. I asked her to please stop because she was hurting my arms and scaring the shit out of me. She just kept repeating "It's okay" and I kept saying "this isn't okay" as she held me down harder. I love this place. I used to live in Beaverton and had a terrific gal to do my pedicures. After I moved I tried a few places in the area. Found some pretty rude shops . I have been new to the neighborhood after buying a home here six months ago. I used to change nail spots depending on where I was the day I decided it was time for a mani/pedi - thus I wasn't committed to one place and hadn't found one place that I loved completely. After trying this salon though, I will never go anywhere else. They offer wine, soda and tea upon arrival (hello lush in me, white wine yes please) and have the most shellac color selections I have seen - very important for my ever changing moods. I don't have to request a specific person as all the nail techs I have seen do an excellent job. The massage chairs are good and the services provided are reasonably priced. The gal was friendly at first and very chatty during the first half of my pedicure, then suddenly was unwilling to chat. She was completely silent the entire time she was doing my fingers. Tonight was particularly special because my tech MaiChi told me a very touching sad story about he father passing away 7 months ago. They sell you a toe-separator, buffer kit for use on each visit in the name of hygiene. Then they wipe metal equipment on a cotton towel after use and return it to use on the next customer. The health department should examine this facility. There is no evidence of sterilization, so just hope that the people who preceded you have no communicable conditions, fungi, etc. All the free drinks, very brief paraffin dip, and massage chairs in the world won't make up for a fungal infection. I moved here from Florida almost two years ago and after using the same nail salon for almost twenty years, I was a little nervous trying somewhere new. V&V are amazing! They got me in right away and everyone that works was wonderful from the time I walked in until I left! My nails look amazing...I have to say probably the best pink and white set I have ever had. I am originally from California . Never have a been to a place so nice and pretty. I have been through all over California trying almost every Nail salons.But , what are the chances of odd for me to come here and find a perfect place like this ? You tell me, very slim! I have a couple of favorite salons I like to go to in California. But , omg This place is my top favorite! Getting to know the Northwest rain can be really boring. Until I found V & V ! It was my first time going to this salon and I won't be going back The woman who was giving me my pedicure was massaging with one hand while she added up numbers on a piece of paper in her other hand. She also stopped massaging to write down more numbers- I have no idea what she was doing but it was weird. She got up and left 3 or 4 times for 2 to 3 minutes each time. I love that I have my own nail kit that purchased for only $2, gives me peace of mind. I have had mani/pedi's there, and have never had bad service. I once made an appointment because I was in a rush to be somewhere. They blew it by at least half an hour, and I had to leave, so that was a disappointment. They always ask the nicities. But I am also one of the rare people who doesn't like to be chatty with people working on me, so I don't mind when they talk amongst themselves. I love, love love the parafin wax at the end of my pedicure. And the flowers they paint on your toes last forever! The first time I went to V&V nail it was great. I thought I had found my new nail salon. They offered me something to drink, the nail tech was pleasant, etc. Also my mani-pedi lasted quite a long time. The second time, not so great. The girl did'nt offer me anything to drink, she also spoke to the nail tech next to her the whole time. She would stop doing my pedicure to talk, lousy massage. She also was too forceful with the tools. I don't like being scared receiving a service. The polish has already chipped off after only 5 days on my toes. When the manicurist asked what I did for a living, and I told her I owned a hair salon, her whole demeanor changed. That is not good customer service! All I ask is for the nail tech to do my mani and pedi, and please don't speak in Vietnamese to the girl next to you. Trust me, all the clients are sick of that. We know that you can speak English, it is just plain rude to ignore the customer. So all in all, V&V nail is just like all the others. Would somone please open a decent nail salon. I've been to V&V many times and each and every time the staff is always very friendly and the service is fantastic. The pricing is very affordable and they do a superb job. My nails always end up lasting forever! As mentioned in the other reviews, it is rare that you find a place that does free paraffin dips and offers complimentary drinks while you get your nails done. I have been getting manicures (acrylics) and pedicures for over ten years and have never found a location that can always fit you in and includes drinks with all services and free parafin dip with pedicures. If you don't have an appointment they will fit you in. Van does a great job on the shape of the nail. Not too wide and perfectly square. I never have to go in for a repair because the nails are done so well. I know people from work who drive over 30 min just to go here. Oh yeah when you get a pedicure don't forget to ask for a flower painted on your big toe. Its about $5 extra but worth it! Read Less

I read the other review and of course the staff may not be completely fluent in English, many places like this are not. However, this DOES NOT at all compromise the service. The staff is very friendly, chats with you during service if you wish and all you have to say is that something is uncomfortable and they will make the necessary adjustments. It is the only place in SW I have found that gives a paraffin dip, no cost, with pedicure and serves you drinks during service. The nails last forever (acrylics) and they are efficient and effective without making you feel like you're a dollar sign. Almost all places you go except for extremely high end salons charge for filing kits because you KEEP them and it is an extremely sanitary way to do things. I've had manis/pedis at many salons (as well as managed one) in Portland and this is my favorite, they are kind and do an excellent job on manis/pedis, polishes, etc. I can't speak for the other services as I don't know other than manicures, pedicures, and acrylic fills and sets.
