I think the people are very nice but my nails chipped off after 2 days of having them done. I got shallic cats eyes. I called them and they agreed to fix them so i did that but seriouosly the paint chipped off the next dayvagain. Kelly is my nail technician and she is FABULOUS! Not only is she very kind and sweet, but she does an EXCELLANT work. She never cuts or burns my fingers, never grinds into your nail bed (Yes some do, then blame the customer!) Wonderful place. Went there for my bridal nails and showed them a pinterest picture of ombre nails and asked them to do it. They didnt hesitate and said yes even though it's not a common way to do tips. The nail technician did amazing and was so patient with me. Love Joy nails, started going there last winter and it's the best place I've been to. I've been to most the local nail salons and this one has impressed me most. First of all warning do not ever go to unique nail in Albany! The model photo is what I asked for yesterday and this is what I got I asked for solar and got the shitty service and rushed out the door they piled on the shellack and called it good. They lady cut my foot when doing the pedicure and also glued herself to me when putting on the tips not once did she listen to me when I said I want white powder. Then they guy tried to do the like and it looked so bad I had them take it off. There is still black left on my nail from the half assed attempt to free had the design. Worst pedicure I've ever had. My sister in law and I said it was horrible and will never set foot in here again! Do not go here! I would not even give this place a one if I didn't have to!! They butchered me and my friend!  I have literally had bruises and bloody spots on my toes for days and so does she! I have been to many places over the years and had many pedicures and never had so much pain!! There were two older gentleman that were working that day and I would have to swear that they couldn't possibly have a license after treating people like that!!! DONT EVER GO HERE!!! HORRIBLE! My mom, sister and I go get pedicures and the total should have been $90. The receipt says $90 but the bank statement says I spent $108! Called and told them and they take NO responsibility for it. They say the receipt is right even though the bank statement says otherwise. Will never go back. Read Less

I have been going to Joys for about 2 years now. I absolutely love this place. I'm always happy with my nails when I leave but if the gel starts chipping they always fix them for me for free if it's within 2 weeks. But usually they stay on for almost 3 weeks so I rarely have to return. Good prices and good service! Read Less

My daughter and I had two very different experiences. I had a younger girl help me and she was wonderful and my nails looked great!  My daughter had her perfectly good cuticles trashed and a botched nail job.  We came back to have them fixed and the male owner YELLED at us over and over saying it was our fault.   Despite my good experience with my nails I will never come back just because of the way we were treated. A little over a month ago I went into Joy for the first time. I haven't had my nails done in almost 3 years and I decided to give them a try. My first visit was great, my full set came out good. When I went in for a refill 2 weeks later I was horrified with my experience. My nails were bumpy and my polish was bubbling under my gel top coat, it was horrible. Just tried this place yesterday after a recommendation from a friend who is a frequent customer. Had an amazing day getting a mani, pedi and eyebrow wax with my friends for my birthday. I found a nail design on the internet of a little anchor with stripes and the women was able to copy it perfectly! Everyone who works there is really nice and the atmosphere is great! I went in here had an appt for shellac nails. First of all they didn't even say hi then they just told me to sit.. She spent a total of 15 minutes on my "manicure" and nail polish combined and there was no one else in there so I don't know what she was rushing for. My nails are awful. This place is awful, I scheduled an appointment for me and my sister in law a week before we get there and they forgot our appointment, they rushed through our appointments and then charged us almost double what we were quoted when i made the appointment. It was very hard to speak with them as they barley speak english and they you felt like they were making fun of you while they were doing the manicures they were looking at us and talking to each other in another language and then they would laugh. I went into unique nails with my mom and sister while visiting them in Albany. We called ahead to make sure they had openings for 3 mani-pedi's and they said they could get us in in about 20 minutes, we showed up and they could only get two us started, so I waited while my mom and sister got started, before their techs even got started on them, the lady came over and got me started and rushed through my pedicure, i was done while they were still getting thorough massages, then she took me over to do my manicure, she cut my cuticle and didnt give me lotion, scrub, or a massage on my hands and arms. when one of the other techs asked me to pay I complained that I didnt get a full manicure and should only be charged for my nails to be painted, and they argued with me that it was a full manicure, even though my mother and sister got a full one from their techs, which took 15 minutes more time, so I paid the full amount and will NEVER go back. Another issue was that there was a lady that was sitting waiting to have her acrylics removed for over 45 minutes while they were doing our party. Read Less
