This is the most horrible Nail Salon I have ever been to, ended up leaving in the middle of my appointment, the woman who attempted my appointment was so rude to me, when she slapped on my hand to relax and not watch her and to focus on the TV, I was DONE!!! NO ONE SHOULD EVER BE ALLOWED TO TOUCH A CUSTOMER WITH FORCE!!! I was so angry I couldn't even talk. Never have I ever been treated so poorly by a customer based business. This place is trash now that Kenny is gone!!!! The first time I went in there sense Johnny''s ownership the lady did one of my nails crooked and when I told her about it she got an attitude with me and yelled at me that it was "just my fingernail" I've been getting my nails done for years and I've never had a crooked nail be "just my finger"!! Then the man had the audacity to act like I just wanted a discount or something when my nail was clearly crooked!! (If I didn't have the money to pay I wouldn't go!!) I decided to give them another chance, over a month later I made an appointment a day in advance because I forsure needed my nails done for a party, well suprise when I got there the lady was extremely rude she wouldn't even do my nails even though I was literally the only person in there. I've never in my life had worse customer service!!!!!! GO TO UNIQUE NAILS!! Not only did they save my life that day , but they did it with better products for cheaper ,and with a way way better attitude. and they waxed my eyebrows flawless! This place is absolutely dishonest and unprofessional!! I really liked this nail salon when my favorite nail tech worked there- but she suddenly left (this being only months after my original nail tech had quit)-  The new tech that I ended up with, discreetly informed me where my girl went and why she left which, though I was happy to know where my girl went- it was also very unprofessional of the woman to tell me so much.  At the end of my appointment, I advised the tech that I could put the tip on my card if she prefers as I only had $2 cash on me (this was a $20 fill- with no top coat, mind you) - She advised the cash was fine as they prefer cash- so I gave her the money and put the $20 on my card- and when the payment hit my bank- I noticed she STILL CHARGED MY CARD an extra $2!! Im positive this was not done in error, but rather in hopes that I ( among who knows how many other patrons she's attempted this with) wouldn't notice a measly $2 more missing from my account. This place may have great prices and do an amazing job on nails- but they lack integrity and honesty in their daily transactions.  And cheating me as a long time customer also lost them my business, forever. Even over something as small as $2... it's the mere principle, and I don't do business with dishonest companies- however large or small they may be. The technicians are good but the PRODUCT they use is terrible! I've been getting my nails done at this salon for about 6 months. All of a sudden the gel polish was chipping within a day. My technician explained that it's because of the top coat that is being used. I won't go back. There is no reason to wear gel polish that chips. I have tried going here several times and have not had a good experience. First of all they don't honor appointment times. I show up for an appointment only to be asked to wait (30 mins) then I asked to reschedule and had to wait AGAIN when I returned! Second the nail technician who did my shellac manicure complained so much and grumbled about how short my nails are that I was almost in tears. This last time I arrived 10 minutes late for an appointment and Johnny the owner asked me what time it was and proceeded to embarrass me in front of everyone in the salon for being 10 minutes late!! I politely said I could go elsewhere for a manicure! I wish someone would open a salon in North Albany that was run well and showed professional courtesy to their customers! Best set of nails I've ever had. Went in for a fill (my last set was done at Star Nails in Corvallis and they were crooked) and came out with perfectly shaped nails. Nataly is incredible. Ask for Nataly if you have sensitive hands/cuticles, she's super gentle and has impeccable attention to detail. Everyone at the salon was so sweet and most of the customers were regulars. My first experience at this nail salon. If I could give Johnny and his team more than 5 stars I would. He told me about his business ethics and I have to say, it is refreshing to know that he chooses quality or quantity. He wants perfect nails and he wants repeat customers. He earned two tonight (my husband went with me). He values the experience and strives for excellent customer care. He offers complimentary beverages (water, soda, beer, and wine). New owner, Johnny, as of a couple of moths ago. I just took my daughters here (age 4 and 7) for their first manicure, as a reward for both kicking the habit of biting their nails. My oldest daughter's fingers are a wreck, because she is so active, and I was a bit worried about trimming too close or being hurt because she wiggles - but Johnny did such an outstanding job, and was so patient and careful. New owner as of 3 months ago, Johnny did a manicure for my two daughters, age 4 and 7, who had both managed to kick the habit of chewing their nails. This is their first time getting a manicure, and I worried a little because my oldest had fingers that looked like a _wreck_ just because she is so active, it seemed like such a challenge to clean them up without hurting her. I just had the fasted manicure possible, in and out in less than 15 minutes. No cuticle work or hand massage, she simply slapped on a little lotion and asked me to go wash my hands.  Polish choices  were terrible, and to top it off she charged me $17 versus the posted rate of $15.  I did not have a good experience at Pretty Nails. My daughter went into this salon to get her nails done. The owner of the facility was the one who waited on her. As she was going through the process of getting her nails done the owner stopped and demanded she pay him right then and there. She was taken aback by the abruptness of this gentleman as in the past in other salons payment wasn't taken care of until after the service was completed. He yelled You Pay Now!!! His accent was such my daughter had a hard time understandi...ng him and she thought he said you paint now. Confused she tried to show him the color she wanted. He became rude and said never mind that You Pay Now! My daughter was shook up by this man's behavior and she asked if he would take a card. He snapped that said he prefers cash but will take the card. She handed him her card he took it striped then threw it back at her along with a pen and the receipt. She came home upset over this and called me. I am her father. I called him. He denied being the owner and claimed the owner was not there. That was a lie. He kept saying it was big misunderstanding and he was very sorry but then denied doing anything wrong. I'm not going to spend any more time on this gentleman but I will tell you this. I do not appreciate the poor service and Hostility you showed my daughter. I promise you sir I will not spend another dime at your business I believe she is better served at 14th Ave salon. Went here because my first two options wouldn't do walk ins. The gentleman in there was super nice and was quick, I asked him to draw a feather on my nail and he said hes never drawn a feather and my nails turned out EXACTLY like the picture I showed him. ♡ I will be going here for nails for now on, very cheap, great quality, clean, and friendly environment. I dont where to start. I started working there since September of last year all the way to March. long story short make sure you bring your own utencils, literally, they don't clean them well, they scrape the utencils with their nails instead of brushing it with soap like they're supposed to but no they scrape it off with their nails which is pretty freaking disgusting. And when you go to get a pedicure make sure you bring your own pumise powder because they tend to reuse them on customers even though you're not supposed to, but you don't have one demand that they give you a new one. I mean you don't have to take my word for it you can always observe yourself. Another very important thing to keep in mind is when you have shellac on for so very long time and when you come in for another set, if you noticed your nails are thin make sure you get a manicure instead/don't get anything at all and just get a light polish and let your nails breath for several wks (..and they reuse the foil paper..ewww). In all honesty they don't care about you, they only care about how much $ you can bring to the table. second, don't ever bring your kids in there, if you noticed the fans on the wall..they don't do anything. Third, do not let any children in the age of 12 and younger to get acrylics/cut cuticles for they are way too young; putting acrylics on at that young age will cause their nails to get thinner as they get older. And cutting cuticles will result in thickening the cuticle as they get older...like I said before don't take my word for it research it yourself. and for all of those students out there,I know it's hard sometimes to make ends meet and look pretty; when you call them and ask for a student discount make sure you ask them again once you're there because talking on the phone is one thing being there in person is another, and I have seen students getting screwed over. When I asked for gel nails, he said, "yeah, yeah, this is same thing".  Well guess what?  It's not the same thing.  He yells at the other workers (ugh, unprofessional, and REALLY makes you uncomfortable).  All the workers starred at the front door . I LOVE this place - They do shellac manicures, and I got the best pedicure there this last week. The guy spent time to massage my feet and it felt heavenly :) Their prices are really reasonable too, especially for the quality of service!! They have massage chairs and lots of space! Pretty Nail just opened end of 2010 and features beautiful pedicure stations and fresh equipment for manicures and more. The location is in the old Mail Stop, by Rays. I highly encourage anyone looking for a fill to give Kenny a go! He is amazing! The other 2 people that work there are very sweet and kind, but for my time restrictions, take way too long for a fill. Kenny will take a full hour, but my nails look amazing when he is done! Huge plus in my book... they actually welcome you when you walk in with a smile and thank you for your business when you leave.
