I needed to find a new Salon closer to home with a talented stylist, which is exactly what I found at Fourteenth Ave Salon & Spa. The location is great, the atmosphere inside is calming, the prices for services are reasonable, they have a wide variety of products and their staff is educated and friendly. My stylist was Elydia and she was both efficient and did great quality work. Ashley did my hair after i foolishly tried to bleach it myself. I came in for a consultation and told her what I wanted and went over price. Late that day I came back and she got me done super fast and totally fixed my hair. The only thing that I would mark her down for would be that i asked for more of a balayage and she did a full weave, which did turn out amazing. I went to McDade nails for the first time yesterday. I will never go to another nail salon again. As long as they are there, I will be going there for my nails. The technician took a lot of time with my pedicure, and also with the massage. The technician who did my gel manicure also did a beautiful job. They're very nice in there too and reasonable. I find no reason to not go back. I'm looking forward to my next appointment! Read Less

Ashley H is great for hair. I've gone to her a few times. She even coached me through cutting my hair into a pixie. I've also had my eyebrows waxed and tinted here, have had a facial, and am about to get my first bikini wax here. It's a solid place with a ton of services. I've always had a good experience. Rude, rude rude....my daughter was unsure of what color tan she wanted, so initially the technician offered to pick for her. She must have forgotten, because she presented two pink polishes and then got an attitude when my daughter reminded her she wanted tan. She snapped, "well you go pick it then!" ABSOLUTE WORST. DO NOT SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT HERE! I scheduled my appointment a month in advance because they are so short staffed, they never have any openings. I then confirmed my appointment the day before. THEN, less than an hour before my appointment, they called and told me they do not have anyone available to do my appointment! New to area and looking for quality spa.  Everyone there is very friendly and accommodating. Facilities are very nice. . My issues were more with quality of hand formed gel nails which were way to thick and uneven. The "spa" area is not set up for privacy between men and women. Neither is the two bathroom/shower areas where you change and keep your clothes. A lot of the techs do a variety of tasks which I feel doesn't allow for them to get quality experience in certain areas. You can see more of my detailed review on their Facebook page. I would give them a better rating, but in the past 24 hrs after my Facebook review, there is now suddenly a rash of 5 star reviews, I guess to counter my 2 star. Half of them work there if you check and a couple others appear to be friends from high school. I find this very dishonest. May have given them another chance, but not now. Michelle is the best massage therapist I have ever had work on me. If you're an athlete with aches and pains she is very helpful on targeting those tight and sore areas.
