I went in for a half leg wax and a pedicure. While getting the wax I noticed a box of lice treatment and a knit comb sitting out. The lady doing the waxing went as fast as possible and missed 2/3 of the hair, and left spots of wax all over my legs. As I was leaving I noticed melon seeds on the towels on the table like someone spilled their lunch. They did not change sheets between customer, gorss. I will never go back. Read Less

So I have gone there twice. The first time I had Christina and I liked how thick my acrylic was but I asked for almond shape yet they were half way almond. Then I asked for glitter and she was very rude to me saying "You picky!" For $50 a set I'm not picky. Soo I have shared my own bad experiences in this place not going to lie twice to be exact mind you ive been to this place 3 times now.... I gave it the benefit of doubt to go here I'm very picky w my nails but what woman wouldn't be. I kept going back hoping they would do a better job the 1st time my nails were different none of them matched (stilettos) and they left an air bubble....2nd time was better but they left gel over my cuticle! Soo I was mad well this time I went because well everyone else was booked so I gave it another chance going in thinking the worst until I got ANDY from NY ....HE DID AN AMAZING JOB! HE WAS HONEST HE WASN'T PUSHY HE TALKED TO ME MADE ME FEEL COMFY DID GREAT ON MY TOES ASWELL EXCEPT THE ARTIST IS AS GOOD AS HIS TOOLS THEY DIDN'T HAVE UV GEL WHICH MEANT MY RHYMSTONES WERE GOING TO FALL OFF IN 3 DAYS SO before he started he told me I don't feel comfy doing that design on ur nails because I dnt have the right materials to do it if I do it differently in which I can try but they will fall in 3 days and I dnt want u back here mad at me (in which he has a point) so we changed my design we collaborated and I walked out happy w my nails they are perfect length cut no gel on my cuticles just AMAZING!!! This place back many many years ago was the place to go to. Now they just rush you threw doing an okay job. They overbook so they have to rush to get you in and out... I got a full set the other day. The lengths of my tips are all different and placed differently so some look super long and others looks shorter. I have bubble and buldges all over my nails. I was asked 4 times about gel polish the first 3 times I declined politely even after the guy was rude and argumentative. Finally the 4th time he asked me if I wanted the gel top coat I told him to please stop asking i didn’t want it. He was so argumentative and rude about it people around me were staring to see what was going on! How embarrassing. This is not my first time In the last few months where this has happened. My daughter and I got shellac manicures a few weeks back and had so many half painted nails and see through polish. We asked them to fix it but they acting like it was the end of the world so I told them never mind and we left. Worst place in town! Horrible attitudes and bad quality. I was very disappointed on 2 areas. The young man who did my nails was in a hurry and didn't finish my acrylics properly. They're rough and corners catch. When I asked a question, I couldn't understand the answer. When it came time to pay, the final amount added up to more than I understood it to be. I don't recommend it. Read Less

Steer clear of this place. I give one star only because I cannot give zero. My niece scheduled an appointment here for us for MANICURES/PEDICURES. I've made appointments for MANICURES/PEDICURES many times in my adult life, and never once had the confusion that we were confronted with today. They 1) wouldn't take no for an answer when asking us if we wanted shellac (we didn't want it, but finally said yes to get them to stop harassing us about it), and 2) started to glue fake nails onto our fingers when we had specifically told them that we simply wanted manicures. When I told her I didn't want the fake nails, the place erupted with Vietnamese chatter about it. Completely awkward. Cherry on top? "We only take cash or check." I rely heavily on reviews to support small businesses and sadly this nail salon is rough. They push for shellac on toes and then charge $6 to take it off. What? Also smoothing callouses is an up-charge here too. Paint job was rushed and the atmosphere was chaotic. Be prepared, this salon also only takes cash and checks. I recommend they say that when they book the appointments. Not everyone carries around that much cash anymore. My nieces paint on the toes was not good when we asked them to fix it they made us feel like we were the problem not their poor quality. Read Less

Don't go!  I went here a few times. The people talk to each other, not the customers. The last time they convinced me to get gel nails. I asked how hard they were to get off, they said come back and we can soak them off in 30 mins. I did go back and they were not happy that I was taking up a spot. Well I made an appointment over a week in advance for me, my sis and mom in law. They were running behind which was fine but they didn't tell me that it was cash only so I had to spend $5 getting cash at the ATM and we were all separated when I made it clear it was important for us to sit together since it was a gift for my mom in law. . I took my daughter here for a pedi/mani and they were really busy. They got us in late even though we had an appointment. My daughters nails turned out fine, they just painted them. Mine however were very messy! I had a French done with shellac, there was white all over my skin and the lady didn't even rub in the lotion. I had to ask her several times to fix things even though she said my nails were done. I am sure everything depends on what technician you get, but I will not be back. I've been going here on and off for 5 years. They are really hit or miss. I never bother making appointments because I rarely get who I asked for or I end up waiting a half an hour for gel. A few of the girls are really good and sweet. Those are the days where my nails look great. Others not so much and work stations are not very hygienic. Rarely able to get good designs so I recommend sticking with French tips or solid colors. Read Less

I went in for my first nail gel experience. I wanted the color changing and picked the colors. I ended it with one color that the tips change once in a while. Not at all what I asked for. When I got to my car I notice the thumb was lumping with dents. After one week nails lifting and chipping. Communication was very difficult. I'm very discouraged. I went in for a full set and pedi and am not happy. The new guy who they stuck me with Tony Lee sucks my nails are uneven and he cut me. They are fat at the sides I've never had that before. My 10 minute pedi was NOT a relaxing experience the same guy did my pedi he rushed so fast he did not even scrub my heels the most important a part of a pedi. My toes were rushed during polishing they have glitter all over. I'm mad. I took my nails off for s couple months because they kept lifting Ming the owner was taking care of me but he hurt me I would be in pain for two days! So Daniel was doing them he was better but the nails would lift. Everyone is rushed in and out while Ming yells at them in Vietnamese. First, they don't take credit or debit cards, which can make it awkward if you don't know ahead of time.This was was my second time there. Last time I got a full set of gel nails and a pedicure, but that was a year ago, so I'm only writing about this experience. I got a pedicure today, and I did get in pretty quickly. But I wasn't impressed with the service. The nail tech was a bit rough ( side note, same guy did my service last time and he left my fingers cut from the new file), but I kind of sucked it up. The other strange thing he did, was massage my feet and legs with an exfoliant.. Not lotion. So when he put hot towels on my legs, it felt like there were open sores( there weren't.. Just felt like it lol). OK.. Well, you get what you pay for. But what I'm most disappointed in, when I got home and actually felt my feet, they still felt like sandpaper, which is the main reason I get pedicures.Except for the convenience, I don't think it's worth going back. After making an appointment I showed up five minutes early, they told me that they were 10 minutes behind so I have to wait a little bit longer, 15 minutes went by, i went back and they told me 10 more minutes... I went through this about three times. The man who did my nails was really nice, although I felt he was rushed, my cuticles on specific nails are very messy and I also had a crooked nail (which I pointed out to him but he just said it was fine.) Another problem I dealt with was he cut me!! and I was bleeding all over but he refused to clean it up or anything so I had blood everywhere and he just kept going and putting chemicals on my nails and it hurt and burned extremely bad!! and all he had to say was "whoops sorry" and continued filing. ( i'm quite disappointed in my experience and I let them know although I had pointed this out to them and they made me pay the full price) I feel very sad about this experience. Read Less

They don't do real glitter tips, horrible communication.   Went in and was told 33 for glitter tips and 15 for my 7 year old to get a manicure with a design , but to come back in an hour.  When I came back I told the woman a manicure for my daughter, then it was a guy that did my "glitter" tips.  I had long nails on all but two of my fingers.  First he tried to talk me into painting on the glitter and I was not going to do that. Then I was shown unfinished tips.  They looked strange to me but I picked one.  Then he asked to trim down my nails....he cut them all off.  I was beyond confused at this point.  Before I could say anything they asked me what color for my daughter, I said ask her.  They showed her a box of nails painted different colors. She picked her color.  Next thing I know the guy is bringing out a box of blue tips with iridescent glitter pre glued to it.  At this point my daughter was nearly done so I figured screw it I will get the funky nails and get better ones somewhere else next time.  Now I know better.  They brought out what I thought was a dryer for my daughter.  When he said it had the light I asked if that was safe as my cousin who is in beauty school said not to use the lights on kids under 12.  He assured me it would only be for a minute or two.    Turns out it was for several minutes 4 times! Then while I was drying they sent her to wash her hands she didn't have a design so I asked several times where does she go next and got no response.  When it came time to pay they told me oh it will be 25 for her nails.  I was still trying to figure out what happened to her design!  They did the gel on my 7 year old with out bothering to tell me that was what they were doing so the flower she was expecting was not going to happen.  Then they tried to tell me well that was what you wanted.  I was not asked just shown some colors, and my daughter was very upset she didn't get what she was told she would get.  They finally decided we would only pay the 15, but my daughter still has no design.  I would not recommend this place their practices are shady, they don't communicate to you and they do not do acrylic properly.  My nails are very sore now also.  Overall it was not a good experience. Great work at very good competitive prices. Gel nails that look great and no lifting, even when I've neglected them going in every three weeks (plus) at times. Great pedi's as well. I find it relaxing in part because the technicians aren't trying to talk your ear off when you're really there to decompress and have a moment to yourself in your day. No loud music and the tv is loud enough to hear if you're trying to, subtitles being on helps with that, and not too loud if you're not and trying to tune it out. Many sets of nails there and plenty elsewhere before finding them and they are by far the best I've ever had, that's saying something considering Ive had many sets considering my 43. Do not hesitate to take a chance on this place, you won't be disappointed. I would give them a 5 but the one thing I think that could use improvement would be the wait. Appointment or not you'll be waiting an average of 10 minutes, but to be fair I don't think I've been to any salon that runs on schedule all or even most of the time. I think that's just the nature of the business and in this case I know they do their best to accommodate drop ins and that's not something most salons do so considering those circumstances they do a pretty good job of being close to on time. Came here with 2 friends for a little girl time. The pedicure was great. My nails look great and they even painted cute flowers on my big toes. My one complaint is that they are super busy and had lots of people walking in looking for appointments that were asked to come back later. Also, the owner had the phone sitting next to him so he could schedule appointments while doing my friend's pedicure. Price was reasonable, $25. FYI, they don't accept debit or credit cards. A friend of mine made an appointment for the two of us to get pedicures this afternoon in preparation for a big night out next Saturday (OMG can't wait to review Morton's the Steakhouse, Ground Kontrol, Portland City Grill, and the Portland Opera!).  We showed up right on time for the appointments, but wound up having to wait just a couple minutes for seats next to each other to become available.I am not a big "girly girl" and my feet stay firmly planted in combat boots or Birkenstocks the majority of my waking hours, so this was a little out of my comfort zone.  It was nice to have a warm soak and salt scrub massage though.   My nails were trimmed, buffed, and oiled before they started in on the French design with a couple small snowflake like white flowers hand painted on the big toe.  They put a nice silver sparkle in the center of the flower that I liked.We spent a total of about 45 minutes with the entire process.  Mostly gossiping back and forth between ourselves, as were the girls doing the pedicures.  There was not a lot of communication between us and our pedicurists however, and my friend wound up with pink flowers instead of the red she had wanted.  After a failed attempt to correct this, we just decided to go with it.The cost was $30 and I left a $5 tip, I suppose this is about average and I felt it was worth the money.  She and I decided to come back next month for another joined appointment, so that should tell ya something. Went to Excellent Nails today for a mani/pedi and didn't leave very satisfied. I showed up 5-10 minutes before my appt. and went to the back to pick out a color. The guy who was doing my nails was hovering over my shoulder & kept asking me,"is that the one you want"? I don't like feeling rushed, especially when I show up early. He didn't give a very good massage on either my hands or feet. Even though I called ahead to make an appt. he started rushing as soon as walk-ins started coming in. He went super fast and it shows on my nails. I could have done a better job of cleaning up my cuticles myself! I paid the full amount but left a small tip. Needless to say, I won't be going back.
