Love LA Nails! I have been coming here for about 2 years now. Everyone is so nice...to the point they actually entertain my daughter who is almost 3. The wait is never super long and they have been accommodating for issues, including a snapped tip they were able to fix 15 minutes before closing. Kim, the owner, is so nice and even let me borrow an umbrella during a torrential downpour. Shout out to Mindy, Calvin, Jenny, Alex and Dean for excellent work. Would recommend ! Read Less

I went in last week to get a full set, without knowing I got Solar nails, paying more than expected because of it, no big deal right? She came in and it felt as if everything was on a timer. She got my fingers a few times with that drill, ouch. Still I wasn’t making a deal about it. When she had finished I had NO structure they looked as thick as my press on glue nails, because of that within two days every single one of my nails were lifted off the back. I asked for matte and she left my $50 solar nails unpainted lol, the ring finger was supposed to be a gold chrome. It was silver and the were SO lumpy I was embarrassed to show anyone. It’s been a week not and they’ve been popping off left and right, so I just took them off. I haven’t had my nails done in 6 years and this was the experience I got. I’m mad I waisted my money and time. They will never get my business again, I’m telling you don’t waist yours. It’s like they’re afraid to use product on you to save them money. I didn’t snap any pics because I was THAT embarrassed about it, I would have said something, but heck I couldn’t understand what ANYONE in there was saying. I came in at 7:30pm and it is now 7:56pm and I have NOT been seated yet. There are two technicians sitting around talking too each other. One of the guys sitting told me he was going to help me but he told me to wait and has not talked to me since. If I ever get waited on I expect it to be a good manicure. I've been going there for the past 4 months. I love it! Very good atmosphere and they're always playing K-Love on the radio! The lady who does my nails is Tina! She is great! I haven't had to have a new set of nails put on in a month and a half!!! She cleans my cuticles very good too! If you're looking for a great nail salon I highly recommend this one! Read Less

Finally I have some time to write a review. I liked going to this nail salon in the mall since it's so convenient when I'm shopping there. But I do have one thing I wasn't happy was after 1 week of getting a full set of fake nails, almost half of the nails fell off! After thinking about it, I recall one of the guys who did my nails and it seemed like it was so fast. Which at first I thought cool fast and done, but now I think he did a poor job at it since the nails fell off. I believe his name was Pete something? I couldn't really understand his English. I went back there again to get my nails re-done and they were much better this time around because I chose another person to do my nails. I went to this nail salon in the mall next to Ross and it seems like a very nice place and they are in the process of renovating by observation of the new and additional spa chairs. That's the positive side of my experience. The negative was having a tall skinny guy do my nails, he seemed to rush through the whole process of giving me the manicure and polish like he had to be somewhere quick, but later while my nails were drying under the special light I noticed that he was trying to claim the next customer. For doing it so fast, my nails only looked so-so and not have the wow factor. I was disappointed in his work. I plan on giving this place a try again but I will definitely pick another person to do my nails instead of that tall skinny guy. I may try a girl next time since I feel like the other girls working there take the time to make the nails look right. Girls seem to have a better understanding of how nails should look like. I'm sorry but guys who do nails are not as delicate and careful. He disappointed me and that's why I would rather choose a girl from now on when I go to any nail salon. Read Less

I've been here a few times and I must say some of the workers seem genuine and do their best. Some just rush and try to get you out of their quickly. The husband and wife owners treat their workers like crap. I've seen once where they are yelling at their own workers like it's like a domestic dispute. Some of the workers do a fine job, so if you do go there, make sure you find the good people there. You can tell the ones who work hard and try their best to please the customers and not try to sweet talk you into things you don't need. Once you find the right person, you actually can "request" that person by name next time so that you don't end up being taken care by one of the bad workers. I had gotten my nails done done there a few times already to get my nails overlayed when I went in on 2/15/12 This was a wed. at 6pm. The place was busy the busiest I had ever seen it and I normally went in on a friday, but I signed my name and was called by a man named Denny after about 10 minutes. I told him I wanted my old overlay taken off, my nails trimmed, and a fresh overlay put on as well as a tip on my right thumb, and pointer finger because the had broken (Before this I hadn't had my nails done since nov. 2011 I just take care of them really well). He said Ok and after removing the polish with his little sanding tool, he put my hands in a bowl of acetone to soak them off, now I mind you normally they put my hand in the bowl for no more than 5 minutes and sand it off.. He leaves me sitting there while he goes and takes the polish off this womans nails, polishes a little girls nails, polishes the womans nails then gets back to me. 8 or 9 people are working and Denny has NEVER done my nails before. He finally starts working on getting the acrylic off and gets to work. He refused to trim my nails before starting to put on the acrylic and the 2 tips, thats strike 2. When he got done with the first hand I looked at my nails and it was like the acrylic was paper thin so I told him no that's not thick enough, he argues a bit that it is then sloppily adds more acrylic. The nails then looked uneven and lumpy and again I told him no this don't look right to me at all, he says i'm not done I said I don't care if they don't look right to me now they are not going to look right when you get done! That was strike 3 for DENNY and I told him to tell someone else to do my nails I was done with him! but, I decided not to let one bad apple spoil the bunch and wait for someone else, figuring I should get priority over someone who just walked in because i've been there an hour and a half already when I was usually in and out in that amount of time or less. He told me someone would be with me in a few minutes and my one sloppy hand was put back in acrylic to soak off, the time is about 7:40 now and the mall its in closes at 9, I sit there and watch them look over and past me helping people who just came in. By 8 I was fed up! I took a couple dollars out of my purse, put that on dennys desk and said f*ck this i'm going elsewhere. I walked out with the nails on my right hand half melted off and stormed down to Natural nails which by the way is a wonderful place!Bottom line is LA Nails and day bullsh** in shawnee mall lost my business that night for good!It has been a few weeks since I got my nails done at Natural Nails and they still look great, I don't need a fill yet!
