I was in desperate need of a manicure so I Yelped a nearby nail salon and this place seemed pretty good. I felt even more confident when my fathers wife recommend led it to me as well - without me mentioning I found this on Yelp earlier! The salon is tucked away on High Street, a really convenient location nearby other boutiques and places for dessert or lunch. Walking in, then place was utterly deserted. There was no life at all until suddenly all of the staff there this afternoon peaked out through the window in the back of the salon. They kept looking until one of them made their way out a few awkward moments later. As one of the girls walked over to the front desk she asked what service I would like. I requested a simple manicure to which she replied which one? I was confused and explained that I'd like a simple, standard manicure. The girl still didn't seem clear until it seemed to process through her mind and she asked me my name to sign me in. She seemed a bit grouchy or like she just did not want to be there, at all. I was a bit surprised she didn't list options of the different manicures they had, give me a spa menu or point to a sign. As I stood there she let me pick a color. They had gel and non-gel polishes from Essie, OPI and another brand I believe that I can't recall at the moment. The color range was great but there was an overwhelming amount of shimmery shades. I ended up with Essie's Chinchilly. When I picked the color, another girl, who was my manicurist Erin, came out with fresh tools and s towel. Before I sat down, she asked that I washed my hands (fair enough!), mumbled something else then finally introduced herself by name. When I did sit down, it was a kind of awkward, shy silence. Not the kind of silence where in New York City (where I'm from) you and the manicurist are in agreement that the both of you want to be anti-social. Eventually, Erin asked me the standard how are you, ready for the holidays and isn't this weather crazy? questions. Interestingly enough, no water was used. Which I read somewhere was the more sanitary way to do nails. I already saw how clean the salon was, the equipment was new as it came out of a sealed bag and I just washed my hands. This was really amazing and a rarity in nail salons. Erin took her time and was very delicate. She offered about four different oils for me to choose from (I went with lavender) and very lightly massaged my hands. I was in an accident recently so that was fine but STILL. That's the best part of the manicure! Although Erin was careful and took her time applying the process and asked how my nails looked I still wasn't that thrilled. She wasn't too detail oriented, it seemed very blah and my cuticles weren't touched so I stayed dried and unkempt. She gave me the option to pay pre-polish or post-manicure when my nails were fully dried. I paid first and as I was about to add tip, I realized tips were in cash only. I thought there was no sign so I suggested they have one up. The seemingly grouchy girl from before said they had one. And she was right. It was in a corner out of view with the font not nearly large or bold enough for anyone to see. So basically I had to delay part of my day to find an ATM to tip this girl. That was pretty annoying esp when the manicure was $20 dollars. Not even worth it. After the polish, she asked if I wanted to be spritzed with quick dry spray. I said yes and was amazed that they didn't charge extra for it. Their services seem fairly quick - esp pedicures. One woman came in as I was having my polish put on and she was done as they dried. The staff was decent about checking on the nail drying process too. Even though everything seemed to be ok and the salon was very sanitary. It wasn't the greatest since no one offered me a 10% off first time client or beverages per the other Yelp reviews and menu/tea in the front of the store. If that was self service it wasn't clear since it was behind the desk. The overall glacial pace and cold atmosphere just didn't do it for me. Whenever I'm back in Columbus I'll only be back if it's an emergency. Read Less

I went to the Worthington Farmers Market with some friends last Saturday and also was able to get a quick pedi from Ellie Nail Spa. Best Saturday morning ever! This is super convenient if you are doing your early morning market shopping. The spa is really cute, clean and comfortable. We were able to sit next to each other and get our pedis super quick. The girls working were all really nice and hilarious, we had a great time with them! The pedis were nice, they dump in your choice of essential oils and make sure to pamper you. They do not do acrylic nails which is a bummer but that's ok, some places just don't. I would definitely recommend this place as long as you aren't looking for acrylic nails, the atmosphere is relaxing and refreshing. If you do stop in please remember they only take tips in cash!! I forgot and had to borrow money from a friend. Read Less

When I made initial contact with the salon I was very excited to host my sisters bachelorette party here. I had called a few times to update them on guest numbers and services, a few of my attendees were not responding after multiple attempts but they assured me it wasn't an issue they would work around it. When we got to the salon the staff wasn't very welcoming, someone in the party mentioned they felt like we were inconveniencing the staff.  A few of the staff were great and very sweet. I wish I knew their names so I could give them the acknowledgement they deserve. All of them did a great job on all of our nails and services. I had emailed the salon afterward to get an itemized receipt since I was splitting the cost and the email I received was short and cold, no thank you for hosting your party here. Considering we collectively spent over $400 I would've appreciated a little more respect. I won't be returning here but I have a strong feeling they don't care. Read Less

Feeling a little down about celebrating a milestone birthday I decided to book day of a nail appointment. Elli Nail Spa was able to accommodate a last minute booking for a standard pedicure. Salon is clean and minimal clutter and lacked and awful chemical smell of some salons. I was greeted and directed to pick a polish and directed to my pedicure chair.  I enjoyed the massage chairs and was offered something to drink while I waited for the nail technician. Pedicure lasted about 30 minutes and was very quality work. My pedicure still looks great two weeks later. Read Less

I had my first mani today! I had brought other friends and gotten them manis before but I just never felt the desire to before. Today just felt like a day to give myself something sweet, so I walked in. I got 10% off as a new client! Always a perk to get a discount. Not complaining:) Casey (sp?) was my esthetician. She is personable, friendly and did everything with ease and expertise. I got the most basic mani because I am on a schedule but I felt relaxed by the process. Before we started she had me wash my hands. That made me feel that the process would be very clean. When I sat down I saw we take her tools out of a sanitized bag, which confirmed how I felt. Clean felt really good. It was something that kept me wanting manis in the past--I didn't know how clean everything would be. So this was great. I walked in at a less busy time of day for their business, which was great for me. Quiet, clean, and calm atmosphere with light music. The interior design (layout of the furniture and color) made the space feel open and inviting, nothing hidden. It feels contemporary and chic. If I feel up to getting a pedi sometime, or a longer mani, I know where I'm coming and to work with who :)!Oh last comment. There isn't a huge selection of colors but that worked for me because I can't make a choice I'm happy to commit to on the fly if there's too much going on. Also, she offered me water or tea before we began! That was super sweet, and I wasn't charged for their hospitality/extra service. :) Read Less

My mom and had manicures at Ellie's this weekend. I haven't had many manicures in my life, but this was one of the better ones. The staff is professional,  friendly and the salon is clean. They use a new nail buffer an emery board on each person. The only downsides are there isn't much of a waiting area, and when we were looking at the polishes, not all of them were available as other manicurists  had them at their work stations. Bring cash to tip, they don't take tip on credit cards !We really liked this place, and we'll be coming back for pedicures in the summer. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends! I recently received a gift certificate to Elli and I was very excited to try it out.  I purchased the "Care to Indulge" pedicure for $44.  As others have pointed out, for the price of the service, the pedicure seemed a little short.  I would have preferred a longer massage and/or scrub.  Furthermore, you cannot put your tip on the credit card, so it was a little annoying to run over to the bank before heading over to Elli.  However, as I had a gift certificate to subsidize the cost, I wasn't complaining.  Overall, i was impressed with the cleanliness of the place, the courtesy of my nail technician, and the expert application of nail polish.  Would I go back again?  Possibly, but probably for the cheapest pedicure. I like Elli!  I loved their Grandview location and so my sister and I figured we'd try out their Worthington location.  I think Worthington feels more cramped (if anyone else is in the waiting area, everyone kind of feels like they're getting to know each other really well) but all in all, it's still a good experience.  My sister has since developed this close professional relationship with Jamie.  I really think the key to a good pedicure is acting like there's nothing weird about the person's feet you're pedicuring.  When I have that experience, I almost always want to come back. The other nice thing about Elli is I've never felt like they care either way if you want to talk or not talk.  Usually, I don't want to talk to anyone during a pedi-I'm there to zone out and have a moment.  Other things I like: most of the time, you don't absolutely have to have an appointment, you can have tea or water when you come in, you get a mini foot massage, and if the color is pretty sheer, the technicians are pretty up front about it.  In fact, they've often offered to put a darker color underneath a sheerer one to make it show up better.  And they also don't charge me extra if I want glitter polish on top (spoiler alert: I always want glitter polish on top).  Elli is my top spot to bring people for pedicures and get one myself. Went here with my girlfriend for our two year anniversary. I've had pedicures elsewhere prior to coming here and I was not impressed at all. We got the 40 dollar pedicures and it was the worst pedicure I've ever had. At that price, I could go anywhere else and get a better and longer pedicure. The products they used were good but the execution was terrible. The procedure was weird and she asked me if I wanted my cuticles cut towards the end of the pedicure. Everywhere I've been, the cuticles were cut right after they are pushed back. She skipped this whole step and came back to it later. As a male, theres not much to be done to my feet so I was expecting that a cuticle cut is mandatory. In addition to this part, the massage was absolutely amature. If I closed my eyes it felt like a five year old was down there randomly rubbing my legs with absolutely no pressure. This was the worst part of the whole experience. It's everyone's favorite part and they totally suck at it. I will never ever come here again, I will not recommend this place to anyone of my friends. I spent almost 100 dollars on two pedicures that felt like a beauty school hack job. The pedicure lasted half an hour at best with polishing time. Do not come here and waste your money. Read Less

Went here for the first time last night.  It is a nice salon and very clean.  The girls who work in there are very nice too.  I got the middle-of-the-road pedi and a gel polish manicure.  I had to try the gel polish on my hands, because anytime I have ever gotten a manicure, the polish chips off either the same day or the next without fail.  I don't think I will ever go back to standard polish now.  I have been doing all kinds of stuff with my hands and the polish looks just as good as when they put it on last night!!  Plus, it was dry the moment I walked out the door!!  You seriously can't beat that.I had to take off a star because I do think the prices are a little expensive for what they provide.  I mean, it's a nice place and very clean.....but I don't know if it warrants what they charge.  Plus, they will offer water or tea to drink, but no wine.....and there is a wine bar almost next door.  I guess that I feel for the prices they charge, they should offer a glass of wine with a pedi or mani....and atleast if you are buying both.  My bill with tip came to close to $100.....and I don't think that a glass of wine would break the bank.  I will say, however, that the green tea they offer is VERY good.I will be back, but with the prices probably won't be able to make it a regular thing. Went here last week for a pedicure, and loved it. I have been searching and searching for a pedicure place. They have a huge collection of OPI polish to choose from and 6 big massage chairs you sit in while they work on your feet. The technicians are great, we went with four people and all four employees were super friendly and we all had a great time talking. We all got the "care to indulge" pedicure, which runs around or a little over $50 with the tip. The girl I had took great care of my feet, asking how I liked my nails shaped, and repaired a small crack in one of my toenails with nail glue after my soak. She then cleaned it up for me before the sugar scrub and polish. Everything looked very clean and I like how bright they keep it in the room, as opposed to sitting in a back room somewhere cramped. If you need a cheap, quick pedi then sure, places like Aveda or some other random salons (where I feel they try to get you in and out asap) are good enough for around $25. You may still get the warm towels, the massaging, etc. but not the ambiance and comfy chairs! Besides, my feet felt softer and healthier after this pedi than any other cheap pedi. Elli is definitely a nice place to go with a friend or two to sit and pamper yourself for a day. Even if you go by yourself there are plenty of magazines to read and the technicians are friendly. Our pedis took a little over an hour, we got to take home our pumice stone/file/buffer (only if you want), and we got 10% off for it being our first visit. Read Less

For my birthday I decided to act like a girl and get a manicure and pedicure done after shear neglect to my hands and feet for the past few months.  Elli was nice and was located near the heart of Worthington, so if you have a hubby, or boyfriend who's dropping you off, then he has a couple of places he can hang out at around the area whilst you glamour yourself up.  The reason I can't give Elli five stars is because I wasn't crazy about the girl who DID my manicure and pedicure. She really didn't talk at all, which is fine, because I don't talk either, but she felt slightly cold. In fact, she didn't really even offer tea, or anything to drink until we were half way done. Another thing was that she neglected to ask me if I wanted to take my wedding rings off before she started sloshing lotions, and sugar scrubs over top of my arms. NOT ACCEPTABLE! She did a nice job, and I didn't leave with sore nails at all. However, she almost had me about ready to yell during the leg massage. Damn, that kind of hurt! I had to look around to make sure I hadn't been transported to some underground bondage chamber for S & M practice. I'm pretty sure deep tissue doesn't mean rub your thumb along my leg muscle like you're grinding corn on a stone. Other than those issues, Elli's was a nice place to just come and relax for an hour, or so.   The pedicure chairs here are amazing, and very relaxing with the built in massage mechanism and a decent whirlpool bottom. This place in no way feels cheesy, or even TOO formal. It feels nicely in between, which is fine for me. It never had the feeling as if I should be a classified yuppie who drove up in a BMW, or Volvo convertible. In fact, I brought my Ipod with me for music, but instead whatever music service they were using played most of the alternative music I had brought with me, so there was no need to break out the tunes, and that was pretty cool to me, and it beats listening to top 20 and Justin Beiber for an hour. Prices here are also in between. They're not entirely cheap like many of the Asian employed places you find in the strip malls ($30), but they're not uber expensive like many high end spas ($90). I paid close to $70 for both my manicure and pedicure, but they also had different price ranges depending how long you wanted to be there, and if you wanted different treatments. I would possibly go back, but essentially, nail spas aren't really my scene, so I felt slightly uncomfortable, but Elli's made is less uncomfortable than what it could have ended up being. I would gladly recommend if anyone is in search of pampering their fingernails and piggies. Read Less

I just started getting acrylics because my very, very weak nails can't hold up to daily tasks and always end up looking more like my niece's nails than the pseudo adult I'm trying to be. =)  Thus, I don't want long, thick, weird fake nails... I want nails that look and function naturally.  Surprisingly, this is difficult to achieve at the run-of-the-mill nail places.  I walked out disappointed and ran home to fix them myself.Pam, on the other hand, understood exactly what I was going for and did the perfect set for me.  She checked multiple times to make sure I was happy with the length, spent a considerable amount of time thinning and shaping them, and refused to put down the file until they were perfect.  They look and feel fantastic and I'm happy to have found a place I can return to with no qualms.  Also, the paint job was perfect.  The color is holding up really well and is shiny, even and beautiful.  I'm also looking forward to a pedicure... their chairs looked fantastic!

I figured they just weren't worth the money. Well my nails are long and stronger so I thought I would give it a shot at Elli which is in my new neighborhood. Ashley worked on my nails. She was absolutely meticulous. I LOVED IT! This is the best manicure I've ever had, EVER! My nails look perfect - shape and polish. Also, the gel manicure is guaranteed for 7 days by Elli.
