The owner is really rude. Didn't help me when I came in. Didn't even acknowledge me. I had to ask how long it would be and then they told me 45 minutes after I already waited for 10. The woman who did my pedicure was great, unfortunately I was unable to tip her with my credit card because the way the store runs it! So much for making the employee feel appreciated! But it’s $30 for a “basic” pedicure. This means lotion with a little foot rub. No hot stones or towels, nor exfoliating scrub. Since this is “basic,” the price should reflect that (about $15). I've always loved this place! An engineer and far from a "girly-girl" I still like nice nails! The kuku girls are beautiful, chilled, friendly, glamorous and professional! Every single one of them make you feel at ease! Yesterday, I took my 7 year old step-daughter with me for her first nail experience! We had our holiday-ready nails created with magical finesse! I have been coming here since the store opened and will not go anywhere else!! The kuku girls couldn't be more friendly but they're also incredibly talented and so passionate about their work. I came in to get my acrylic nails done recently. The atmosphere was amazing and the girls were so lovely. My nails looked lovely for the first week. However, 2 weeks after they were done, my nails started coming off. I'm pretty sure acrylic nails shouldn't be falling off so soon! I have had acrylics before and they lasted so much longer. Where do I begin, first off I called and wanted to book a gel mani and the girl that talked to me on the phone was extremely rude to me she told me she couldn't hear me so I spoke louder then she became even ruder!!!! I booked with her already regretting it, I realized my husband couldn't watch our son so I called back and she answered with "what!" I mean excuse me! I came here because a pedicure was advertised as $25 and they could take me that day, within the hour. The salon is not very clean or updated looking. My nail tech did a good job with my polish, but the experience was nothing special, or even very good. Then she tells me it's going to be $34 for my pedicure. For that price, I would have gone to Beauty Bar or Polished, where they pamper you and get you coffee, tea, water, etc. Overall, not worth the price. There are much better nail salons to try. Booked an appointment here for the first time, I truly enjoyed it. The nail techs are friendly and Alicia who did my nails was very quick and skilled. I was truly expecting it to take 2 hours at the very least, but honestly it took 30ish minutes. This was for a full set acrylics with gel polish. I have been all over the place. This place is by far the nicest place in Toledo. Van, the technician who did my nails fit me in last minute and spent a great deal of time meticulously shaping and filing my nails making sure to round them evenly which was always a major problem if my nails were crooked. She always is great with fine details for nail design. They have gel colors and lots to choose from. 5 stars!!!Read Less

The first time I went in this salon was just an okay experience. As I was getting my nails done, someone had walked in at 6:15 and they close at 7:00. This person was told, they couldn't do their nails because they close soon. The female at the door told them, "Okay if you don't want my business, then I will not be back." The person doing my nails proceeded to say, it didn't matter because she had never seen her before anyway, so no business lost. I made the mistake with going back months later, this was 2:30 on a Monday afternoon. When I walked in, not one person spoke to me, not a Hello, what can I do for you, nothing. I proceeded to wait, I was the 2nd person in line. When it was my "turn", so I thought, a women walked in and sat in the chair ready to have her nails done. So I thought, she has an appointment, no big deal. Now there is another worker that is finished and once again someone walks in and sits in her chair. I left! I do not mind waiting at all. the problem I had was, not ONE person spoke to me to explain the situation, or even tell me, "I have an appointment and "so and so" will help you next. I've been to all kinds of nail places around the country, because I travel a lot for work. The price at the salon is great, I think my gel manicure was around $25. That's perfect! Also they had a very wide selection of colors, and because I came in during off-peak hours, they weren't busy at all and took me right away. This place is awesome, they're fast, clean, and affordable.  So far I've had both Tammy and Elaine do my nails, they are both very talented and fast! Full set took less than an hour with dry time and a balance is about a half hour with dry time. I came in today for a gel manicure. I was in the salon only for 25 minutes and my nails look great. The price was perfect it was $20 + tax (which is weird because in both Michigan and Illinois nail services are not taxed) but they removed old polish and applied new. I will definitely come back. My only negative is that the station I was seated at wasn't particularly clean. There was polish on the table and the flakes from my old polish were not swept up and some got on my clothes. But I digress a $20 shellac mani is a deal I can't beat! Read Less

After going to several nail salons for gel manicure in Toledo, I kept coming back to Star Nails because of their excellent work. First of all, they charge $20 for a gel mani, even a french mani, including soaking off your old polish. They only have OPI and Gelish but they constantly get new colors and are willing to deal with my indecisiveness when it comes to picking out a polish. Other places I've been to charge $10 extra for taking your polish off. What a rip off!Trish is my favorite though sometimes she is a little slow but definitely meticulous.
