My first visit: The front desk staff was extremely friendly and professional. The salon itself was beautiful and clean. However, the manicure I received was subpar. The manicurist never made eye contact me- She didn't touch my cuticles and my nails were left rough on the edges. I had to clean up the overflow of polish on the sides of my nails, when I got home. Been going to Reve for years. I love the services I receive there, but it has become very costly as my esthetician and cosmetologist are at their top levels which only increase costs. Terri is amazing with color! I always trust her judgement for my cut and she has always been right for over five years now. Multiple stylist in salon are wonderful. Massages have always been terrific and there is no better aestheticen than Rachel: she is a magician shaping my brows, will get your pores sparkling with extractions if you so desire, and sets you at ease no matter what you are waxing. It is refreshing not to have a pressured sales pitch over product purchases, but rather an offer to help if interested and sent home with a slip listing your products used in case you change your mind. Entire staff friendly, cheerful environment, frequent promotions. Price: a little more than I would like for some items, but not really out of their market comparability. Tell the scheduling desk all your motives (looking for someone great with short hair or up does and/or certain availability and/or in certain price tear and they will steer you to the right person for your first visit. This review is for mani/pedi services. This place is expensive-- shockingly expensive for what you get. I certainly need to preface that statement by saying I do not mind expensive when it is worth it. Our services were more expensive than that of all of my mani/pedi's that I can remember in recent history (I get them every two weeks). It is definitely my fault for not consulting their website, so just beware that a gel pedi is $90 plus $15 soak off if you have gel already. Mani was $46 plus $15 soak off. Total was $315 (including tip) for two manicures and two pedicures. None the less, with these prices I really expected more. On the website it  also states that you can "Choose mint mask or warm paraffin." Neither of us received this during our service. The salon's facade seems beautiful but we noticed some missing upkeep. It is modern and they carry fantastic products (Kerastase and Shu). There are three floors-- we were instructed to walk to the third. Along the way I noticed the carpet was in disrepair and the second floor is the break room. I was surprised to see the door wide open with stylists eating and chatting. The manicure stations are comfortable enough. The pedicure stations look a little worse for wear and my massage did not work. As I look at my manicure I can see different levels. I have never had this happen. I am not sure if it is my nail or the gel. My cuticles are not very neat. The tech was having a bit of difficulty getting my old gel off and unfortunately, made the rest of the appointment extremely rushed. The tech decided that she did not have time to do my pedi and that her assistant would need to do it as she had another client coming in (a regular, I presume). I can't say I have ever had this happen before and I was a bit taken aback as I did not expect this. I really needed a pedicure and was limited on time so I did not decline. I will note that she did do an acceptable job. She was definitely the friendliest out of the employees. The shape is beautiful and it was relaxing. Four days later my gel manicure is chipping. My hands and feet look pretty much like when I went into to Reve. I cannot say I'd go back. Read Less

I used to go to just a franchised salon, and then I went to Reve and it is not comparable! The amount of attention you receive at Reve compared to other places is wonderful. I was greeted promptly by the ladies at the reception desk and checked in. While they notified the stylist that I was here I was offered a cold beverage. Which was really nice because it was quite warm out. Once I was introduced to my stylist I was given a little tour and taken up to where she attended to my hair. She started by giving me a soothing wash and massaged the produce into my roots which felt like a scalp massage which felt amazing. After that we moved over to her chair, where she asked me what we would be doing with it today. She listed and understood I had unique hair. She actually worked with my hair versus just giving me a generic hair cut. And again I was offered a beverage. She finished by washing and conditioning my hair again and styling it to my desire. No hair on my ears or neck which was a big plus. Once we went back downstairs she showed me which product she used and explained why it would work best for this style and my hair. I recently found Carissa who knows how to fix up Asian hair! It's hard to find a hair stylist in Toledo who knows how to cut and color Asian hair. Carissa does both well. I didn't have to give her too much information, but she was able to understand my concerns perfectly. She doesn't chitchat with you too much, which I appreciate because I love to get my hair done in peace. I'm sure if you want to gossip about other people's business, she would have no problem doing so as well.  As far as I know, Reve is the only place that offers Balayage in Toledo. This salon may be expensive for Toledo standard, but it's really not bad compared to haircuts I've gotten in Chicago and LA. It also depends on the level of the stylists, but I don't see the need to get a senior stylist when Carissa meets if not exceed my expectations. The people here are courteous and they have specials every month. Be sure to check out their specials on the website. Oh and Carissa recently got promoted! The prices are still very reasonable though. So if you are an Asian girl who is obsessed with her hair but don't know where to turn, Reve is the place to go. Read Less

Do not go here!!! I booked an appointment for a heat style and set this weekend. The stylist curled my hair and I gave her two pins to clip my hair behind my right ear. When I was checking out the receptionist said I was entered in the system for an updo, but he said I clearly just had curls done. He called up to the stylist to confirm this, and she claimed that I received a "special updo" because she put two clips in my hair!The receptionist looked genuinely confused and told me I had to pay 65 dollars because of the two clips. I was so flabbergasted I just paid and left. I will never go to Reve again. Please avoid this dishonest stylist and salon who clearly took advantage of me. I made an appointment for hair cut and style on my first visit to this salon. I was greeted by two busy receptionists, but eventually caught the attention of one and checked in on time. She told me to wait upstairs for the stylist and offered coffee or tea. I went upstairs and after about 10 min came back down for some tea. After being ignored for an additional 25 minutes in the middle of a room full of stylists, I left the salon. I received a voice-mail on my phone afterwords from the hairstylist apologizing and offering me a free "treatment". I will not be taking the offer and found much better service about a block away at Main Street Salon. Read Less

I'd suggest this salon over any salon in Ohio. Being a former University of Toledo student and now a Florida resident, this place provides better service than any salon I have been to in both states. The atmosphere of the building is one that matches no other salon I have ever been to. The interior design caught my attention from the moment I walked in till the time I was getting my hair done on the 3rd floor. In Feb 2010, Carmen put high lights in my hair and they broke off at the root. never have i seen this before,The owner was awful she gave me a treatment for my hair and that caused more breakage!!!!!!! I have been a client since 2006. Monthly I was spending upwards of $150.00, until this month. After my usual stylist left, I was reccomended another. I went in for my usual color and ended up in tears! I was guaranteed my same color formula would be available to the new stylist. It was nothing that I had ever gotten. As a brunette I walked out with black hair! I called to let them know I was unhappy and they gladly made another appointment to have the color corrected. The appointment got pushed back a whole week due to scheduling! Once I arrived, the same stylist greeted me with "Whats wrong?" , no hello nothing! While doing the color consult she was very rude and placing blame on me for not communicating properly!! The results were the total opposite of the black, I was bleach blonde. Again in tears she got a manager who said it would be an easy fix. Reluctant I agreed and after being left in the shampoo bowl for 27 minutes, I was rinsed with a 1 minute shampoo and no conditioner. Back at the chair finally in front of a mirror I was back to the black again!! The stylist simply handed me my rubber band back without drying my hair and said "Have a nice day!" My only wish is that they would open another salon in or around the Detroit area so I wouldn't have to drive over an hour to have my hair cut and colored. My Daughter and I Love Reve's. We both got awesome cuts. My daughter wanted a shorter style and the stylist helped her make a decision on what would look good for her. She went with a shorter style and it looked fantastic. My cut was just a few inches off the length and layers that flowed gently around my face. We were treated like we were their only clients and made us feel welcome. Great place for all they have to offer, nails, massage, etc... The first time I walked into Reve, I instantly fell in love. Upon stepping into the gorgeous European style restored building, I forgot about the busy and stressful outside world. The atmosphere is warm, positive, relaxing, and inviting. The employees cater to your every need and will do anything possible to make sure your day at Reve is memorable and one of a kind. They take the time to get to know you, answer any of your questions, and offer a friendly smile. Reve has really been expanding their already full range of services, so that you can take care of your needs at one place. They also go above and beyond traditional spas and offer collagen and botox among other things. They are up to date on their services and are constantly being trained by the best stylists in the world. They are also very educated and knowledgeable about all of the products they use and offer. Whenever I go in Reve, I always jokingly ask for an application because it is such a great environment and it would be a blast to work at the salon. I'm completely in love with everything about Reve. I've never had a bad experience. Every massage, mani/pedi, facial, up-do, color, and cut has been perfect and exactly what I wanted. As long as you articulate what you are looking for, then you will get it. I've heard of clients (I can count them on one hand in the five years I've been going there) who have not been happy with their service, but I also know that Reve welcomes them back to correct the issue they have free of charge.
