I have been coming here for well over a year. Every time a certain technician does my gel manicure it chips and comes off in 5-7 days with it normally lasting approx. 2 weeks. Today was day 6, it is completely lifting and chipping off, which is ridiculous after spending $30 plus. When they opened the store, the service was ok and so were the prices (same as everyone else). Last week I went for a toe nail color change, and the price had changed from $12 (color change for toes is EVERYWHERE $12) to $18 plus tax. It is a REGULAR basic color which I think it was an expired polish because my color was chipped and gone on the fourth day. If it was for $20 toe color change I could have gotten a gel somewhere else for the same exact price. The lady owner is unprofessional and rude. She is on her phone all the time and when you ask for a specific person to do ur nails she gives you an attitude, like what?! Ive been doong here since the first day they opened and I am done with this place. Id gladly pay extra if it was worth it but its definitely overrated just because its next to Whole Foods and no one cares!! If I could give this a zero rating I would. Disappointed doesn’t begin to cover how I feel. I tried out this nail salon on a referral from a friend. This first time I visited it was okay. My gel nails chipped after one day. I returned because the location was convenient to me and went back several times there after for fills. I experienced a salon employee turn away a friend of mine who asked if they had time to fix a broken nail an hour and a half before they closed. Needles...s to say she was already en route and the technician filled her nail grudgingly. My friend felt awful and apologized over and over. Is this not a service industry? This evening I came in for a fill and granted the location was closing in 45 minutes but I was turned away again. There were customers present and the girl was a familiar face who I’m sure recognized me. I keep my nails plain, simple and short. I am always in and out with no complaints. I grew up in the salon industry and I am very disappointed in how I have come to notice how this establishment is run. It really is a shame because there are some very kind employees who work here and the salon is well kept and in a great location. I’m sorry to say River Nails and Spa you have lost a loyal referring customer. I have been coming here about 9 months for gels. About 6 months ago they sent Jennifer to the table to do my nails. She had ear buds in and never acknowledged me, no hello, didn't even look up. I thought maybe she's having a bad day and I can deal with that. When I got home I realized every nail was rough. The polish was uneven. I didn't call them and complain, I just filed them myself. I went there a couple more times (no Jennifer) with great results. I go in after work one day and who do they sit at my table but Jennifer. She smiled, greeted me, she was a changed woman. I thought maybe she has more experience now and became a better nail tech! I was wrong. Another lousy set of nails. Again, I didn't call and complain. I do not like confrontation and drama. My nails grow out and because I'm lazy I don't want to go to a new salon. I call this time (the gentleman that owns it answered the phone) and ask if Jennifer is working. He said no, I said good, she's not a competent nail tech, she did my nails twice and both times a disaster. He says I know, we fired her! He told me he was sorry and to come in and he would "take care" of me. He did a great job, then charged me full price for gels and a manicure. Even though I had already dropped over $85 (with tips) on bad services. But I sucked it up, paid and tipped. Yesterday i go in and get sat at a table in the back next to the owner. While the tech is doing my nails he keeps looking over, watching what she's doing. I didn't think anything of it at the time. She did them in rapid time. I notice she hardly put any gel on them. I get home and they're bending and I can see the nail ridges through the (pink) polish. She only put two coats of polish on. She filed the tops of my nails like mad and they're now like paper. They are on the thin side to begin with which is why I get gels. I call and the woman owner answered. She agreed gels make your nails stronger. She also told me the nail tech was new but had experience. She told me to come in and she'd fix them. I get there, she tells me to go sit at a table.  The owner didn't even sit down. She looked at my nails and said they were fine. Totally reversed what she said the night before. Argued (nicely) with everything I said. I knew we were getting nowhere fast so I thanked her and left. I was the third in my group to get started bc I had to use the bathroom. I sat down after everyone and was still finished first!!! I paid $140 plus a $20 tip for garbage... the woman wasn't sociable and was very quick about everything!! She never asked how or if I wanted my nails trimmed and shaped!!! I had the gel polish, like I always do. Less than a week and I have a chip on my toes and two on my hands!!! Now that I think about it, the girl never put the top gel coat on my hands!!! I went in for a pedicure because at 9 months pregnant, I can no longer reach my toes. I wasn't paying attention (reading a book) and did not notice the woman using a cheese grater on my foot. I noticed it when she caught my toe, though. The fact that the grater tool is even in the building means I will never be going back.Read Less

I've been going here to get my nails done for about a year now and have not had a single bad visit, I come once a month at minimum. They always do a great job and are really friendly. I even used them for myself and my bridal party for my wedding last winter.I am now 7+ months pregnant and today I was not feeling well as I was getting a pedicure. I got dizzy and lightheaded, and as soon as my tech noticed something was wrong the staff jumped to action to get me water and ensure I was okay. It was really nice how concerned they were and really cemented my high opinion of the staff.I would, and have, recommended this place to everyone! Read Less

Liars, less to no experienced nail technicians! I used to always taking my 87 years old mother for regular manicure and pedicure after they opened their salon few months. But Few Appointments Recently, Even having appointment, my 87 years old mom waited and waited after the customers with acrylic, gel, manicure, pedicure! I don't think all these customers happened to have appointments! Because Van didn't know them and asked them what they need! Worst experience I ever had at a nail salon. Asked for coffin nails and each nail is a different shape and blatantly crooked. I'm embarassed at my how my nails look. Asked politely for a refund and the owner Hai denied his work being rendered as poor, claimed his nails were art and all coffin shaped. Also during the service he talked poorly about other customers. I asked for coffin nails and at first glance they looked alright, but now I'm home and analyzing them and hate them. Completely all different shapes. I get my nails done for my job and these are embarassing. My nail tech even noticed I didn't like the shape at first and said wait until I'm finished. Well here's the finished "coffin nails" done by the owner Hai. Can't believe he let someone walk out looking like this.UPDATE: Went in to show them the nails and they refused to refund money and threatened to call the police. Nice with new pedi chairs/lots of colors to chose from! Found this spa by doing a quick YELP search. Sister and I were in town and wanted a little pampering.  No appointment necessary, but they do take them.  Walked in and were able to get two massage pedicure chairs next to each other.  We both got the Signature Pedicure and they offered us water to drink, which was nice.  Both technicians wore gloves, which my sister appreciated!  Everything was very clean, and done professionally and thoroughly. Signature pedi included clean and trim, sugar-type scrub, lotion and hot towels. I got just a regular color, and my sister got a design (which was a bit more.) My experience here was amazing! I had just come from work and wanted a gel manicure and a pedicure, but I had on jeans. They gave me a pair of nice, comfy capri pants to change into so I could get the scrub and massage, which was completely unexpected and such a nice, thoughtful thing to have available for guests. Two weeks later, the polish on my toes looks perfect, and my gel manicure has not chipped at all. Thank you for such a wonderful experience! I will definitely only be coming here from now on! They did a horrible job on. my nails then charged me 40 for a fill in & color. Asked for almond shape n my nails are crooked, they look like beat claws and looks like a child painted them. Not your average Salon. The staff took their time and were very detailed when it came to my pedicure and manicure. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The owner went out of his way to bring a heater out for my feet while I was drying my hands and assisted on putting on my socks and shoes! Really just outstanding customer service! Love it! Hadn't had my nails done in years and my husband treated me. I found them using Yelp. When I arrived at 9:56 I was the third person in line! Now I understand why. Very nice, modern salon. Jennifer took her time and made sure I loved my nails. She also filed off enough of the acrylic that my nails aren't rounded/humped. I'm very pleased. My nails are not tender at all. I wanted to try a new nail tech just to explore and was looking for holographic nails. Sadly they did not perform that service so I settled for nude. My manicurist Grace took 2 hours to do a fill! It wasn't attention to detail that took so long it was just her snail pace. Throughout the process she bucked me with the drill bit 5 times! And then proceeded to put bonder and alcohol on my cuticles which stung extremely bad. Another manicurist even had to take over at one point to shape my nails because even she realized it was taking way to long. This salon came highly recommended and my first visit with Hai was exceptional.  My next visit was the exact opposite.  Although the technician was wonderful, my nails began to peel within 2 days.  I had a gel pedicure and manicure and was charged $91 before the tip.  My nails looked like chicklets and there were so many coats that the original color wasn't even close to what I ended up with.I went back and reported that my nails were peeling and they replaced 5 at no charge.  Once again, two days later they started to peel again.  Once again, I went back and Hai informed me that this was the last time they were going to replace them.  In the middle of doing my nails, Hai stopped taking care of me to assist another patron and send over another technician that "needed practice".  This week, the friend that recommended the salon had the same experience.  Although the customer service is great, the ambiance is very pleasing and the facility is very clean, it feels like the product they use is inferior or is applied incorrectly.I will not return. The young lady that did my nails was super nice, sweet, and had amazing customer service skills!!I picked a neon pink gel color which started to chip within two days. I went back on Tuesday to get it fixed and the owner assisted me. She was on a personal phone call and refused to put her call on hold to help me. She kept her phone to her ear while talking to me, horrible customer service! For that reason I'll NEVER return. She battled with me the whole time about why the gel is starting to come up WITHIN TWO DAYS. Today it's been one week and my nails look terrible. I went to River Nails for the first time about a week and a half ago, and my nails still look amazing. They did the best gel treatment I've ever had! Its super thick and was very well sealed.I was with my mother who got a fill and gel treatment and she's also super happy with their work. They did an excellent job with both of our pedicures as well. They have different levels of pricing on pedicures, so you can pick anywhere from simple to luxurious. They have free wifi, offer you a beverage, have nice new massage chairs with awesome tubs, and the whole place is very clean. WOW is all I have to say about this place. I've been to a lot of these locally run nail salons, but they all seem to lack what this place HAS! Their grand opening was Tuesday, & a friend of mine scheduled appointments for a group of 4 of us to get pedicures (because they were offering a 20% discount for the grand opening). The owner not only remembered her name the entire time, but he made all of us feel so WELCOME. He brought out plates of cheese and crackers along with a bottle of red wine. We most definitely were not expecting anything like this. I mean, come on, what girl doesn't want to be wine and dined? My crew and I definitely ate all of that royal treatment up! Now onto the pedicure. They offer a menu of different pedicures that you can choose from, but I went for the "ultimate herbal pedicure." It consisted of dried herbal leaves of my choice (peppermint & lavender). It was so relaxing, and my tech, Adrianna, was simply AMAZING. She was so meticulous in making sure that I was comfortable, relaxed, and happy with her work. I was INCREDIBLY happy with her work and will be requesting her again when I return.
