I typically always come to this nail salon because it's closest to my house, prices are reasonable and the staff is usually friendly. However, today I am extremely disappointed in their service. My mom and I came in and put our names on the sign in sheet. We waited over an hour and still had not been put in a chair, I normally wouldn't complain but they skipped our names on the list and took a woman who signed in after us and her friend who didn't even sign in. The staff was confused about who was next and completely messed up the order but still never apologized nor said anything to us. We finally got fed up and left without getting our nails done. My gel manicure was done poorly the first time I went and it ended up peeling the next day. But I went back and they fixed it for free, and they were very sweet and took their time to make sure I was happy with the results! It looked much better the second time and didn't peel. I called and made an appointment with Kelly the owner. I was looking forward to trying the new salon.  I live close by and get my nails done every 2 weeks but at another salon. Kelly said we don't usually take appointments but it is rainy and a slow day so come at 1pm and I will take care of you. When I came to my appointment at 1pm she ignored me and I waited until 1:25pm until I went up to a coworker and said I had an appointment today and wanted to know when I would be taken care of. The woman said another 15 to 20 mins and so I left the salon. I called Kelly later in the day and she told me that " I must of misunderstood her because she never takes appointments.". Why would I lie? I told her that she needs to take accountability and shouldn't lie to a potential new client. I will not return to the salon or recommend it to anyone in New Albany. Read Less

Stopped in to New Nails today because I was in the area, had some time to kill and my nails were in desperate need of attention. They were able to get me right in and Kim did a fantastic job on my Gel Mani! It's very clean and modern inside and the technicians are super friendly. The lady who did my nails did a fantastic job.  The turn off though was the price!  $10 extra to throw some polka dots on 2 nails!  My sister and friend who were with me though had poor experiences.  They had to repolish their nails in the salon because of how poor they did the first time.  Then every nail design they asked about they were told No, can't do that.  If you didn't want dots or random swirls, you were out of luck.  I've tried many salons and won't be back to this one. Because I work a lot I rarely get to pamper myself but today I decided to drop in for a pedicure and I'm beyond happy that I did! I had Kim and she was absolutely AMAZING!!! My pedicure was luxurious, relaxing and gentle and we chatted the whole time! She is a gem and it was more like two girlfriends hanging out and relaxing than two strangers. The shop is beautiful and inviting, the massage chairs are comfy but the company is better than you will get anywhere else! First let me address Swehta's comment. How narcissistic to believe anyone talking in a "native language" is talking about you. Stick to the service. Very convenient, clean salon open 7 days a week! Rushed home from work and they were able to do a gel/shellac manicure and a pedicure for me even though they were closing soon. I really appreciate them staying open for that! Now that I know this is here I'll be swinging by every 2 weeks. I've been roughing it without a place open on Sunday's or late enough for my chaotic work schedule :/FYI: your service must start 30 min prior to close if you're trying to go around closing time. Also, my iPhone took me all the way into New Albany by the Main Street roundabout (by CVS and the post office) but they are actually right by Blue Agave and Subway on Johnstown Rd by 161. I just saw Swetha N. review of 1 star and her "bad experience". Anyone looking at her review please consider that all other reviewers have given 4 or 5 Stars for their experience with New Nails services and the staff.I have been a customer for 2+ years now and have had manicures (regular and gel polish), pedicures (from the most affordable to the organic, hot stone) as well as wax services (brows, upper lip, chin/ Neck) and have NEVER had a bad experience. I am generally a walk-in and don't mind waiting if the wait is reasonable (no more than 20 minutes) - Kelly and her friendly staff always advise me of the wait time and propose an alternate time for me to come back. Lately I have been calling for same day appointments and I am always treated with the utmost respect.I am very satisfied with Kelly and her knowledgeable staff; yes sometimes they speak in their native language but it is not true that they speak badly or negatively about their customers - New Nails is a professional salon that is run with honesty and integrity. Since it is Kelly's business I say that she and her staff are allowed to speak any language they wish to speak and anyone who doesn't like it  should go ostracize another beauty/ nail salon.All services that I have had done have always been impeccable; if the staff makes a mistake they fix it right there for free so to state that any staff member didn't apologize and fix the problem is a blatant lie by Swetha N.Sorry I will get off my soap box now - it just makes me furious when grumpy, needy people try to drag down small businesses especially when I know that the owner and staff will bend over backwards to treat the client to a relaxing experience. I just retuned home. I got my spa pedicure and gel polish manicure at New Nails.  I'm totally not satisfied with their work but more importantly not happy with how they treated me.  They were constantly making remarks in their native language and I felt extremely uncomfortable because it was obvious they were discussing me. They did not clean under my nails and when I asked they just said its not coming and told me to move to another chair and wait for another person.  I waited 10 minutes for another person. Once finished the tech accidentally dropped a towel fell on my toes and I asked if they could fix where it messed up the paint on one toe she got annoyed and said something to another customer about me.  Additionally, when I simply questioned the bill asking for itemization they looked at me as if I were crazy.  I will never go back here. I'm a regular here and just realized I've never posted a review. Kelly and her team do a very nice job and that's why I keep coming back. It's a clean and friendly place that does great manicures and pedicures. I've never had a waxing done here but I've seen many others come in for those appointments as well. They have all of the latest colors and techniques and are constantly trying new products. The prices are very reasonable and they'll always try to get you in. Give them a try... I have no idea why this place isn't lighting up Yelp. I've gotten Mani/pedis all over town, from the priciest spa and salon to the sketchiest nail spot. I'm here to tell you that Minh and his crew do the best and longest lasting nail job around. They have various price levels from basic to fancy. They are thorough and do an exceptionally high quality job. I've been coming to him for years and have followed him across town even though there are other nail places closer. I don't know if its the quality of the polish or the skill and training of his team, but you will not get a better mani/pedi elsewhere. Keep up the great work, Minh and team! Read Less
