So we're taking the "scenic route" towards Camp Dennison, hit one of those points where the state route speed limit drops and for a half mile or so, you find yourself on a Main Street, or in this case, Center Street. When what to our wondering eyes should appear but a small drinking establishment with a big sign: The Rusty Nail. Always a fan of small town taverns, we decided to stop.Loved the vibe as soon as we stepped in. I mean, brick interior walls, wood floor, wood bar, side door open with summer breeze wafting in (along with delicious aroma of tobacco smoke part of the time). The building is century-plus old, and has been a bar for generations. And you feel that in the atmosphere. It's old school. Charming and friendly.Up by the big front window is the dart area with two real dart boards. It always rejoices me to see real dart boards, as too many newer places, at least in my area, only have those sissy electronic things with the plastic make believe darts. Gimme a break! There is also a side room with pool table, and rounding out the fun, the Keno and lottery ticket machine, with two strategically located video monitors for the drawings.I got the impression it's a bar only - not pub or bar & grill. Didn't see any reference to food service, did see a rack behind the bar with bags of chips for sale, and was not offered a menu. (Which is fine, sometimes you just want a watering hole; every bar doesn't have to serve food.) But I also noticed napkin holders & salt and pepper on the bar as well as on the tables. So, maybe there is some limited food service? Maybe just not on Sunday. By the way, Sunday is beer and wine only. Current owner of about a year is trying to rectify that. Will be pleased to return when passing through this area. Read Less
