I tried numerous salons in Austin and none were as good as Queen Spa. I love all the ladies there, its so nice to go to a place and not have to worry about making an appointment with the exact same person because other people don't do as great of a job, at Queen Spa everyone is amazing, River is amazing and so is Ruby usually does my SNS! My mom and I had manicures done with a French tip the other day at this location and a couple hours later both of ours had chipped some. Then the following day almost every nail had chips, some nails more than one. When at the salon we noticed the employee putting water in the polish so it must be old polish that they use. Some French tips were crooked and multiple fingers had nail polish on them surrounding the nail, I had to touch up at home to get polish off. Other than chipping problem the actual in salon experience was fine. Maybe gel polish here is okay. Would not go back because I could do a longer lasting manicure at home. Read Less

My girlfriend dragged me here so that she could get her nails done. While I was there, they asked me if I wanted a pedicure.. I've never gotten one, but agreed to it anyway. The staff seemed friendly as they laughed while my girlfriend teased me throughout the entire thing. It was great. Good experience! I went for a mani/pedi on Saturday, and felt like an absolute princess! Ruby and Helen took very good care of me, and I was even given a mimosa to drink. The lovely girl from the front desk also came by several times to see if everything was going well (and it was -- I was in heaven!). I highly recommend visiting Queen Spa to get your nails done. The quality and customer service is amazing, as is the price. I haven't had a chance to try the spa's other services (massages, facials, etc.), but if they're half as good as the nail services, you're in the best hands in Austin! Read Less

I have been to this nail studio multiple times for pedicures.  They were OK, nothing special.  But the last time I went in, I decided to get a manicure as well.  My nails were very long and just needed to be shaped and polished.  My technician couldn't speak English, so she asked if I wanted square and I said no, I like them a little rounded.  She proceeded to start filing my nails and at first I wasn't sure what she was doing, but when I realized she was basically filing them to almost a point I made her stop and asked for a translator.  After that she proceeded to file them straight across, so basically three of my nails on my right hand were flat teepees.  I was very upset and told her to stop.  They apologized and said they would have someone fix it.  The new technician told me we would have to cut them all down to almost nothing in order for them to look reasonable.  I agreed and let her try to FIX my nails.  When we were done, I was a little upset and these things happen, UNTIL I checked out, not only did they not offer me a discount on my other serviced, BUT  They CHARGED me for them to ruin my nails.  I looked at the lady like she was kidding, but she was adamant.  I paid my bill left NO TIP and told them I would not be returning.  I know things can happen and nails grow back, BUT SERIOUSLY.  There are lots of other options in Mentor, I suggest you try them. RUN, DONT WALK. I have no idea how this business is allowed to continue to operate. Nail tech Annie has a hot temper and no respect for paying customers. She is rude, ornery and has a bad attitude. I will never spend my money here again after she had a meltdown simply for asking her to correct a crooked nail. Again, as a paying customer this shouldn't have been a problem. This woman has no concept as to how to treat her customers. She personally  insulted me several times and stormed off in the middle of my session simply because I pointed out an error that she made. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. Nail glue doesn't last long, super poor "customer service" and mediocre quality work for what is charged. Read Less

DONT WALK...RUN!!!! Strangely the reviews for this place are TERRIBLE OR (questionably) perfect. Remember all a person  has to do is download app and write a stellar review/s for themselves....I called to make an appt. and specifically told the lady who answered that I have a thickened toenail that needs extra attention.I inquired specifically if they had/use motorized files if they felt it was necessary when I arrived.They said "yes of course".When I arrived they took me fairly quickly.They had their children approx ages 11,15(boys) and 18. The 15 yo set me up on the pedicure chair ran the water in/soaked me. I was surprised but figured anyone can handle that duty and respect family businesses. After taking off my polish he gingerly/briefly worked on my cuticles. I asked if he was comfortable using electric file he replied."yes of course".He was visibly uncomfortable to work on my thickened nail.I asked if he would be more comfortable having one of the adults work on that area,there was relief on his face,he apologized(I told him it wasn't necessary to apologize).Annie came over,quickly trimmed my nails no pedicure/cuticle work.Put my feet back in to soak and kept rotating to other customers.Then had me pull my feet out,dried and lotioned them,I asked (3rd time) if she would use electric file to shape/thin nail and smooth the visible ridges from being clipped but not filed...she went and touched the device at another station and then rotated to 2 other customers. She grabbed the polish I had selected.Since she was not going to address sharp edges I politely asked  for an emery board and filed my own nails. Then she (refused) kept saying "I be with you in a minute".By that time I had been  there for an hour and a half. I let her know I needed to take my son to baseball.She told me she was "busy". I apologized and asked her if I could pay her 1/2, (nails less than half done,they had ACTUALLY worked maybe a total contact time with me for about 15-20), but that I needed to go even tho my nails were not done. As I stood at the check out with her with my cash extended,she proceeded to call the police (oh yes she did!!).Told them (while I stood there) that I had left without paying and would they come immediately. I called the dispatcher back on my phone.Yes they sent a squad.car. Bottom line she agreed to complete my services I agreed to pay entire amount.as soon as the officer left the shop she told me to sit "there", went on to do another client then told me to go sit on pedicure chair.Then she promptly went to yet another client. A Few minutes later she called across the shop and told me when I paid in full she would paint my nails. When I (this time)called the police she immediately came over and started painting my nails.Another customer asked.me if I wanted her to call the officer back in,as he was still in the parking lot. The officer had to stand there while she finished painting my nails. REALLY???.ANOTHER BIG ISSUE everyone should know about is THERE NO LICENSES POSTED. When Annie was arguing at the register with me that she wanted the full $$ she complained that "I worked hard for $$". I pointed out that her son had spent 10 out of 15 min they spent with me,and that I believe in paying/tipping but at this point questioned the young mans cosmetology license,could I please see it since it was not displayed (neither was anyone else's) She refused saying legally she did not have to display (in the state of ohio DISPLAY IS MANDATORY).She told me I could call the state board and check on her license (of course by this time it was after hours so I had to leave a message). But I am a licensed therapist in Ohio,anyone can go online to verify a license of any kind.I searched her name, business names,address,she advertises being an ethestician,I searched that,I searched cosmetology,managing cometologist,nail tech, NOTHING CAME UP UNDER ANY search.in all fairness I will wait for a person to verify this,before reporting this gal. But she seemed well versed in calling the police,so Im guessing I am not the first frustrated customer. At best they do an mediocre job painting nails ,forget having mani/pedicure.My advice go elsewhere. By the way in order to post I had to pick A star. Read Less

I have been going to this salon for two years. I have had waxing, shellac, manicures, pedicures, and my 6 year old daughter has had her nails done there several times as well. Everyone at this salon is always professional, and friendly. The salon is clean and uses very good products. I would recommend this salon for a professional, quality nail salon experience. Save your money. Three days after I had my nails done there (for my wedding!) my polish chipped and the shellac manicure began to peel and chip. They are horrific at time management and rushed my service. I went back for a refund only to be told I had to come back later because the manager wasn't there. I was visiting for  my cousin's wedding and had to get my nails and feet done.  I come from Orange County where nail salons are on every corner but this one was by far the best one I've been to!  Not only do they all speak english, friendly, and have great amenities - but they go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and make sure you like what you get or else they'll do it over again, no problem!  Wish we had more of these types of nail salons in OC.  Not sure why they have such bad reviews.  I did notice that most of their positive reviews have been filtered.  Probably Yelp trying to force small businesses to pay them for better reviews.  Anyway, definitely give them a try, you won't regret it! Just had my nails shellac painted there. I gave same person do my nails 3 times, figured she needs few times before she gets it the right way, however not only she gave me a horrible attitude when i simply asked to remove polish from my skin that was all around my nails, but also did such a bad job. I normally only leave positive reviews and only for the places i enjoy going to. This is not the case. 3 times and each one was not pleasant. Not going back there! Read Less

I came to this salon for the first time after reading  the yelp reviews.  I agree, very clean. Courteous and knowledgable staff. Love the lights within the tables. I did not have an appointment, but luckily did not have to wait. You can make appointments online. I have been coming to this shopping strip for years, but never noticed this salon. I saw Mimi's review and gave this place a try. I had acrylics and polish done. A few of my nails were crooked and the polish was put on very quickly leaving sides and cuticles untouched. They did speak in another language to each other almost the entire 45min. Not a huge deal to me, but worth mentioning as it conflicts with the review below.
