DO NOT COME HERE! The review might be a little long, but stay with me. I used to love this place, I came here all the time. I had an appointment at 5 one day. Went in a couple minutes early and they said it's going to be a couple minute wait. That's fine, she was finishing up with someone else and I was early. I didn't go back until 5:30, so I was a little annoyed since my appointment was supposed to be a half hour ago. I wanted to get the tips of my hair bleached. So she started bleaching the ends, it was going good. But my then I felt the back of my head start heating up, then it became this unbearable burning pain. I was basically screaming in my seat to get this washed out and my lady kept saying "let me finish up first". So eventually I get everything washed out of my hair. They kept me in the shampoo seat for an hour, just sitting there. They went on to the rest of their appointments, I think they checked up on me all of 2 times, in an hour! Then they put me back in the salon seat, and kept me there, again, while they focused on everyone else, like I was a problem they didn't want to deal with. I wouldn't have been annoyed about them taking other appointments but my appointment started a half hour late, and mine appointment was scheduled before the others. So after everyone left, and there was only about a half hour until they closed, they started drying my hair. Then I saw my hair... Then ends of my hair were PINK!! And the ends were so fried and dead, they ruined my hair! My lady said exactly this, "I never make promises on hair, but I promise you the pink will fade within a couple days" My hair was pink for 2 months. And they charged me!!!!!!! I went back the next day because there was still dye in my hair (I got my roots done and they said don't take a shower). They rinsed it out, and found conditioner left in my hair. And I found out that I got chemically burned, I had second degree burns all over the back of my head. They did absolutely nothing!!!!! They didn't compensate for burning me, they said they would call me for the best course of action to fix my hair, nothing. AND they wanted me to come back in, get a conditioning treatment and pay for the damage they did to my hair. PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE EVER!!!!!!!!! Read Less

I've been a client of Amy's for about 6 mths & I love her!! It is so nice to sit in a salon chair and have someone listen to what you want and also make suggestions. I get my hair both cut & colored by her and I couldn't be happier! It's a great feeling when you are out and get compliments on your hair by complete strangers. I had a Traumatic salon experience before meeting Kayla so obviously I'm not very trusting with my hair. When I sit in Kayla's chair and say "girl, do your thing" I know I won't open my eyes in 20 minutes and want to cry. She completely understands my long term #longhair goals and treats, conditions, and trims my locks just right to keep me on track. I had a great experience having my nails done- but not with my hair. I left with dark hair color all around my face/neck on my skin. I'm not a professional and I can color my own hair without making that much of a mess- it was a simple all over hair color. My entire experience was terrible. Jen took forever getting back to me just via email. I waited almost two weeks before I started emailing more trying to get a quote for my wedding. She did call me to say she would let me know how the price would work since my wedding is the weekend of Labor Day (mind you, my wedding is not on Labor day, it is the Saturday before). She said she would call me back "in two minutes" to check and see if the Salon would be open that weekend, but never called me back. Finally, I called the salon and told one of the girls there my issues. She told me she would pass my information to the owners, one of whom so happens to be Jen. A day or so later I was called and we made a day for me to come in and talk more about pricing and what it is I am looking for in terms of services. I brought my fiance with me when I went in. We filled out some papers and Jen gave me a rough estimate. The price was DOUBLED since it's the weekend of Labor Day and the salon would be closed. For 3 hair/makeup services and 1 just hair service I was looking at well over $1,000 and that price was for IN SALON. She told me she would get back to me by that Saturday (I went in on a Thursday) with an actual price. It has now been well over two weeks since then and I still have not heard ANYTHING back from her. After going through all of this with this company, I am no longer worried about getting an actual price from them. I was recently in a wedding that used Salon Rootz for on-location hair and makeup services. They charged a ridiculous travel fee, arrived late, and took way longer than anticipated. The quality of the makeup they used was awful. Half of the women had to have either their hair or makeup re-done. I ended up redoing my entire hairstyle and fixing my makeup myself because there was no time to have them fix it. I don't know what in-house services are like, but my experience was a very stressful morning that I would not wish any bride to have on her wedding day. Read Less

Very noisy, busy, crowded. They do nails here, so it's also very smelly. I am very specific about what I do not want but told the stylist that I was willing to take suggestions. She did very little to be safe and charged me $42. The information on the Internet said they charge $35 and up for haircuts. Who decides who pays $35 and who pays more? Read Less

Awesome experience. First time getting my hair done at a salon and wanted it to turn out perfect. So I googled the best ratings for salons and Rootz is nationally known. Sheila only charged me $100 even for foils with 2 levels, toned, washed massaged, and blow dried my hair. They gave me a free bag of goodies. And she Didn't charge me for the trim. I don't get my hair cut/colored very often...just a few times a year. I have been to several stylists (because I go so seldom, I don't really care if the same person does my hair) and each stylist has done a great job - especially with highlights. I always ask for natural-looking highlights, and they always deliver. Read Less
