Girls are delightful but my gel manicure broke once, had to make time during the week to go fix it. They said it didn't cure well. Next time it happened again. They said some nail polishes are bad!!! They said they'll give me a free manicure because of what happened. Went for the free manicure, gel broke off again! All breaks within 4 days of having them done. I've been going for my SVS lashes with Jayne fortnightly since May. There's absolutley noway I could live without them now. While I was bummed the salon is no longer allowed to serve pumpkin pie with their deluxe pumpkin pedicures, I was very pleased with the services I got!! the girl who did my pedicure was amazing and very nice. She always made sure I was comfortable. Then Vin took over for my gel acrylic manicure. This was something I had never gotten done before and I could not believe how lovely they look! Normally acrylic nails hurt my fingers for a day or so afterwards but this new gel acrylic style didn't cause me any discomfort. I am very excited to go again. Read Less

I went to this Maumee location since he opened, i was thrilled to see the salon was still there while I was in town this past week, I went in on Wed. afternoon this past week around 2 PM..I asked if I could get a pedicure...I was asked to sign in for service which I did...then I was told there were no apps until 2:30 pm on Saturday....2 customers were getting nails done, no one was waiting and no one in the pedicure chairs....i saw 4 employees standing around....went down the street to L'Amour nails on Dussel, walked in, was in a chair in less than 2 minutes...6 customers being served....so much for Jonathon Koi... The rude customer service I experienced from the front desk staff last weekend was appalling. I was mistakenly left out of a group wedding appointment. I'm from out of town and am unfamiliar with the area. When I asked politely if I could be fit in I was abruptly told no. I asked if they could go back and ask for me to be fit in, again, told no. A friend and I visited the Maumee location for a girls afternoon. My friend sat down for her pedicure before me and ended after me, so I sat and waited for her to finish. It lasted a whole 25 minutes. Although my friends nail tech was absolutely wonderful and friendly and she said she did great, I felt that we were rushed in and out or at least I was. My daughter and I visited the Maumee store for the very first time and last. For the price, I wanted the while experience. My chair maybe worked for 5 minutes the entire time of the pedi. I wanted the massaging on while getting a pedi to relax. When I went to pay, I asked for a discount and the manager said no. I could have gone anywhere for a pedi and cheaper, I just heard so much about Jonathon Koi that I thought I would try it out for a good Mother/Daughter day. Read Less

I used to go there all the time but it just seems like it's just not the same anymore. Everytime my mom and I go we feel rushed, the girls aren't as friendly anymore because they are over booked and are clearly rushing thru our pedicures. On top of that their prices are ridiculous and for no reason. The last time I had placed an appointment for a gel mani. Not only did the girl not give me a manicure but only a polish change, at the end I also was wrongly charged (I had to tell the receptionist I was not given a manicure). Gel polish should last 2 weeks, my nails were chipping 3 days later... I went back to get them fixed and the girl was super rude and basically told me my polish started chipping because my nails "We're too thin". I will never go back again. This place needs to be shut-down temporarily and gutted.  The cleanliness is forgotten, but the service is nice (not superior).  I dropped in during a weekday noontime and was accommodated within 10 minutes, just enough time to pick out a nice OPI polish for my toes.  So many colors to choose from:  awesome!Before my pedicure, I stopped into the restroom.  I didn't want to set my handbag down on the floor (too dirty), and the only level surfaces above the floor (toilet back and a decorative cabinet) were covered with scented candles, Febreze spray bottles, and potpourri baskets.  So much perfumed stuff in a restroom hides something:  the stink of uncleanliness.  I did my business, after hanging my handbag on the room's doorknob.  While I sat, I noted that the baseboard vinyl was pulled away from the corners and filthy all the way around.  The laminate floor was particularly dirty in front of the toilet.  Yuck:  that's not *water*!I was led to my pedicure chair in the front corner.  As I approached the chair, my nostrils caught a heavy musty odor, as though a leak occurred a while ago and was given the opportunity to turn to mold.  The sliding trays and crevices in the pedi chair were not the cleanest, covered with fingerprints, stains and cleaner residue.  I just hope the pedi tub had been bleached!My nail tech, Maria, was very competent and nice.  Her tools came out of a sealed shrink-wrap, which I hope indicated sterility and not just a snow-job of fake-sterility.  Her hands were good on my massage all the way up to my knees.  She shaped my toe-nails well, and she did a great job removing dead skin on my heels.  She used a base coat and 2 coats of nail color, a happy/springy purple-rose.  She left me to sit alone for a bit while my nails dried.  That gave me plenty of opportunity to note the tired dirty pillows on the pedi-chairs, the dirty curtains between stations, and two very creepy-looking, heroin-addict types acting like they were going to move in. (I have worked with addicts, so this isn't an uneducated stereotyping of people.  The neighborhood in Maumee is declining.)Good service at the reception desk...nice ladies who are personable.  I left a good tip (50%) for Maria, as I thought she earned it.  The place offers nice service, but not nearly as peaceful as Beauty Bar on Central Avenue.  The major difference is the level of cleanliness.  I'm not going back.  Please, Mr Khoi, do something! Sub par, not worth the price at all. Called to complain to the manager at the maumee location and was offered a free pedi at the sylvania location. I accepted but truthfully will never go back again after. I'll stick with my $35 spa pedi at our local Asian place around the corner. Twice the service and talent at half the price. Read Less

My daughter (age 10) and I visited the Maumee location for the first time yesterday (Thursday, Dec 29) as part of a "girls day out" while on Christmas break. We got pedicures and although the front desk girl was pleasant, the girls doing the pedicures were more interested in talking with each other than with their clients. My daughter especially was completely ignored. She even mentioned it to my husband and then I heard her say it again to a friend later that night..."my gi...rl didn't even talk to me. Or look at me".. were her exact words. This made me feel bad for the experience she had but also alittle upset because she ruined this time for my daughter. I don't know if it was because she was 10, but I would think with the holidays here there would be plenty to talk about. I'm very disappointed that a salon that claims to be "best in customer experience " has such poor customer service skills! I was before i got married and they made me feel at home asked me if i needed anything and mde me feel very confortable. When my sister got married and the bridal party went there they set out food for us! What salon around here would do that for you? The are very clean and comfortable. They talk to you and make you feel at home. I would not go to another salon this is the only salon i would chose after the way i have been treated by going there some many times. I went for a manicure and pedicure in this salon recently and loved it. The area is very open and fresh-looking with beautiful decor. The pedicure chair have curtains around each one to give you a feeling of privacy. The salon is very neat and clean and they obviously use disposable materials. Although the salon feels expensive, I found the staff to be very friendly and warm and the prices are great! I would recommend this salon to anyone new to the Toledo/Maumee area! Read Less

First of all I am very offended by the review before. Everyone in the salon speaks English very well ; in fact 99% of the people working are there are caucasian Americans, so the reviewer before must never have set foot in the salon. They wear masks since the state board recommends it to protect their employees from exposure of dust over a long period of time not ""illegal chemicals."" All salons should be doing the same thing.
