What a wonderful place to enjoy a great Americana dish. The menu is chock full of burgers, sandwiches, and beer. It's important to point out that this place is a bar with a good restaurant. Rude staff, rush treatments, like being on a conveyer belt - they can't wait to get you out and onto the next. Staff expect tips. Managers/owners very rude and push sales (try and convince you to change your treatment to a more expensive one) then rude when you decline. All around good restaurant and good experience for our party of 7 last night.  Great side salad with sweet n sour dressing, good Santa Fe chic sand and yummy fries...especially the steak fries.  Kids were happy with their meals and were good quality at a good price.  I had the grilled fisherman's platter and the shrimp and scallops were good, but the fish was dry and Parmesan green beans were lack luster.  Sis enjoyed the French dip.  We would return again and would recommend to others.  Our waitperson was great. I went there this morning to have my nails there was a incident where another customer dropped a bottle nail polish it was an accident but it went over a new bag I had It was the first time I used that bag the girl that dropped the Polish offered to give me moneyour back on bag which she did I thought the problem was solved the staff reacted in an appealing way to me shouting in front of a lot people telling me girls only 14 I have to say I thought they looked about 20 they... did repolish my nails for free but the staff were horrible if they came and asked me in a proper manner I would have agreed that was ok but being shouted at I thought was way out of order and the staff so very rude . We had my friends grandson with us even he said he could understand my anger my friend was as angry ad me I am going to check to see if they have a head office and report the whole shop . The Old Bag of Nails is a typical sports bar.  The Fish and Chips were quite good and they allow not only fried, but also grilled.  This was a welcome addition.  The service was good and the atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting.  Since we all, a group of four, had the same meal it is difficult to rate the rest of the menu.  All said we enjoyed our meal and will probably return, but there is a lot of competition for this type of restaurant. Unfortunately, the night my hubby and I went they had insufficient staffing and we waited a long long long long long long long time for our food.  Yet the waiter and manager came to is without us asking and apologized and insisted on discounting our meals. This is a great place. It is tucked away in the Kroger store complex and is not noticeable from the road. The place is larger than I expected. Some of the booths have a big screen TV, a great feature for families with kids. The food was good and was priced appropriately. The carpet needed a little work but clean and well kept. Wonderful large fish dinner with fries & large onion rings.  Great service, friendly waiter, quick delivery of food.  All good...just wish I had room for the mushroom appetizer.This chain has been around Cincinnati about 3 years, but longer in the Columbus area.  Worth the drive if you are hungry for fish & chips.  Not crazy about the flavor of the coleslaw, but you can't have everything.  I'll be recommending this pub to relatives visiting Kings Island! Had lunch here and it was delicious. I had the double decker burger with steak fries and it was perfect. My niece had the chicken finger which were massive, she had enough left over that she could have had 2 more meals. The food here is excellent! The grilled fish dinner with garlic butter is my favorite. The portions are large. Their asparagus is prepared very well--surprisingly so. The environment is quite pleasant with dark wood and huge booths. Had the Fisherman's Platter for $15.99 and it was big enough for my husband and myself for lunch.  Two large fried cod fillets, four shrimp and four scallops along with cole slaw and fries made for a great lunch. This place has MANY TV screens so watching a game in here just adds to the delight eating here.  Service was a little sparse but still friendly and accommodating.   Next time I might try the Philly cheesesteak sandwich (the server assured me all the food is great) .  I will definately be returning soon! As local sports bars in the area go, this place was pretty good. Dark but not too cluttered. Open Spaces. Very large good size booths and tables to accommodate small or large groups. Quite a few TVs, but maybe not as many as some of the other local sports bars. But what they do have though that is different is a row of booths with private TVs.  We went at around noon on a Sunday afternoon in October. Good place to go watch the game with a group of guys or with the family.The food.As an appetizer, we ordered the breaded mushrooms. They came with a creamy horseradish sauce. These were probably some of the best breaded fried mushrooms that we've ever had. The reason being, because they weren't greasy and slimy. These were large fresh mushrooms that were breaded and fried. One of the key things that we noticed was that the breading was actually fused to the mushroom. You know how typically the breading just slides off the mushroom in the mushroom is kind of slimy? These were not like that at all. Breading had good flavor and the mushrooms were fantastic as well.We actually tried this place out because my wife, a native of England, read reviews that highlighted their fish and chips. Her being from the UK, and me visiting frequently, we are fish and chips snobs. You don't find too many places in The States that do fish and chips like they do over there. For that reason, I had no interest as I've been burned too many times when I do try to somebody's "great" fish and chip claims. She did order the fish and chips and they are fantastic! For those of you that like a good Cobb salad, you'll understand what I mean when I say that the salad was dry. When I get a salad of iceberg lettuce I wanted to be wet and crisp. Not dry and kind of crisp. Cold, wet and crisp! The salad was a bit dry. It was a large salad and it seemed very fresh. A little heavy on the Gorgonzola and a bit light on the egg for my taste. It wasn't a bad salad it just wasn't a great salad.The kids got the mac and cheese, which was pretty standard Kraft mac and cheese and a burger which was a pretty standard kids burger and fries. Kids eat free on Sundays, so that was a bonus we weren't even aware of.Good beer selection. I didn't get too deep into it and only ordered a blue moon. They are a Coca-Cola establishment.The service was excellent as well. Granted, we only really dealt with our server Brooke, but she was extremely knowledgeable, extremely friendly and was around when we needed her to be and didn't crowd us when we didn't need her to be.Would I go back? Absolutely. I can't wait to go back to this place and actually order the fish and chips myself. Now, I left one of the best parts the review for last, for anyone that has read this far. There is a very little known fact, that the restaurant doesn't even advertise, about their fish and chips. Their fish and chips are all you can eat, everyday! Stopped in before going out to Valley Vineyards for drinking.  I will say, the outside was not impressive when we arrived.  (I picked it from a Google search based on the name alone.)  But once we went in, I was impressed with the decor- swank, slightly pub like, and with a television in some of the booths.  A private tv to keep yourself occupied!  Cool!Anyway, the service was good, the food was pretty good too.  I got the mini burgers.  I will say that they come in an order of three (which the menu doesn't specify) and while they were certainly delicious, the kitchen staff hadn't pulled the buns apart so I had to do that after the burgers were all made which meant they were a bit... lopsided?  A friend had a specific drink made to her order and said it came out really well, so kudos to the bar staff as well.  Would go back if I got out to the area again. I could make an entire meal out of the mussels & shrimp appetizer.  The hubby and I usually split them and then split another entree/sandwich.  But I think the next time we will each just get a bowl of them and I can sit there happy, dipping the crostini into the garlic-heavy broth and digging the mussels out of their shells and swirling them in it and not share at all.  Sooo good.  The first time we ordered it, we split it among 4 of us...bad idea...horrid. Actually, almost everything we've had there has been spot on.  The inside of the place screams sports bar...and it's definitely a good place to catch a game.  Big bar, nice beer list, lots of TVs, etc.  However, they actually do seafood pretty well!  Be it the mussels, fried seafood and fries, shrimp po'boy (extra bread to dip in the mussel sauce!), seared scallops on the spinach salad...even the lobster roll!  All go nice with a cold draft beer or cider.  I am a pretty big fan of the fried clams...they almost rank up there with the mussels but the white wine garlic butter...I think I could almost drink it from the bowl through a straw.And now I'm hungry and I may have to tell the better half we're going there for dinner! We went there on Good Friday and in the throws of March Madness. We did call ahead seating and the quote was for 30 minutes. We got there right after the quote and the hostess said "it might be a while before they could seat a table of five". We told her we did call ahead and she was very rude and said that it isn't guaranteed. I asked her about an empty table of five behind the hostess stand and she said it was for someone else. My aunt said this particular hostess is always really rude. We waited about five minutes and then were given the table that was empty. She was very unpleasant and should be trained in customer interaction.That said, the food was excellent and our server was outstanding! My aunt recommended the fried mushrooms to start out with. They were really hot and tasted great! The portion was enormous! My uncle was raving about the fish and chips and got that. The order came with two huge pieces of fish and a lot of steak fries. My mom got the salmon and she loved it. My cousin had a cheeseburger and a ton of fries. I got the Greek Salad, without the cheese, onions or feta. It was not the best salad, but they gave me a lot of kalamata olives, so I was a happy camper. My aunt got the shrimp po'boy. She said it was just mediocre. I normally would have ordered something off their extensive list of seafood, but I'm on a vegan diet. If I go back, that tuna will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine! Read Less
