I went to go see Helen today, I called on short notice, requested her specifically, and still got a very polite and curtious responce. I came in to the salon a little early, and was soon taken to get my first set of arylic nails. This is both exciting and nerve racking, but Helen answered every question I had and was super polite too. I cannot speak for anybody else who works there but Helen is amazing. My nails look beautiful and I was charged a very reasonable $35. Helen worked with me on the shape and length, and always made sure I was happy with the product. Surprised they had such a low rating. They are very friendly and quick way to squeeze in a pedicure. They do a good job with nails. They lack the massage and creating a relaxing atmosphere but you also aren't paying spa pricing either. Fun to go with some girlfriends. I went to get my eyelash done a week ago in Mason location.  80% of the installment fell off in one week. I went back to make another appointment 3 times with Teresa, she was too busy to fixed them and kept arranging different time for me to show up. Each time I showed up, she found excuses not to provide services. She was arrogant without merit and she refused to provide partial refund of refund. He didn't clean his station after his last client. There was still nail and acrylic dust all over the surface of the station. He didn't prep my nails (push back my cuticles and prep the surface of my natural nail). I myself am currently in cosmetology school for every kind of service you can think of. He violated major health codes by not cleaning and sanitizing his station after his previous client. After he applied the acrylic he sat me out in the manicure stations and had another person finish my gel polish. She did great but I left with a very bumpy surface and wide tips. Read Less

Escape in Mason has been my go to for manicures and pedicures for years. They are very clean (sterilized new tools used for each client), friendly and polite. I'm particular about my nails and in the rare case of seeing something that was less then pleasing it was quickly corrected. Read Less

I was nervous making a switch after moving away from the salon I was use to. I have been coming here for pedicures and eyebrow waxing for aabout a year on and off just to get an idea of the place. Today I finally decided to let them do my nails and I had Helen as my technician. She was amazing. Very personable. I have been going to this place since 7 years. I had a horrible experience with one person in particular when I am doing my manicure. Initially I tried to make conversation she refused to talk at all. On top of that she peeled my finger skin until it is bleeding. When I was screaming with pain instead of being sorry she said if you have problem with me you can talk to my manger. I have used several nail salons in Cincinnati, including the upscale "Paragon", and I think that Escape is one of the best nail spas in the area. It's tastefully decorated, and has some of the best massage chairs in Cincinnati. They have free wi-fi and they use high quality products - my life mani-s last for several weeks - but it's still has a casual atmosphere. I've been coming here for years and I really love the people and the atmosphere.  The service is excellent and the quality of the work is great.  I usually get the shellac manicure (by Tammy) and sometimes eyebrows and lashes (by Theresa).  They are both excellent at what they do and their work lasts for weeks without chipping at all.  I'm a hair stylist so it is rare that I get nail color to last for 2-3 weeks.  Everyone speaks English to each other which makes me feel comfortable and they know me by name.  I highly recommend you check this place out.  And once you find someone you like, stick with them! Horrible experience! Nickel and dime operation!  a la carts everything! My bill was over $100. There was no courtesy or break given after having to do my pedicure over with a new tech and repeatedly burning me with the file. Do not get your nails or toes done here! My daughter and I went there today for manicures and toe polish.  The manager was extremely rude to myself and my 7 yo daughter--and, when I asked why he was being rude to us--he continued to be rude and offered a half apology.  I've been going to this location for years,  and cannot believe that they treated us in this way. I go to this place for an eyebrow wax a few times a year. I've always had pretty good experience with a lady named Teresa. Last Friday I went in, and Teresa was off. A lady named Joanna did my eyebrow wax. I think overall she did a good job creating a good shape, but I started developing really bad pimples at where she applied the wax. Since this wasn't my first time there, I'm assuming it's not an allergic reaction but a problem with cleanliness. Maybe it's time to find a different place. Read Less

I'm confused as to the address they have listed, because the location I went to was in hyde park next to the new smashburger. Perhaps they have moved, but the name outside of the Salon was definitely "Escape Nail Spa" and this is what was offered to me to check-in to as a nearby location.Anyway, I get here and I have an hour. All I need is my shellac taken off and new shellac put on, no manicure - just polish change. I make this clear and ask how long it's going to take because I only have an hour. They assure me this will be plenty of time. I ask them how much it will be. 15 dollars, they said.First of all, they SOAKED my fingers in acetone. Any good nail salon i've ever been to will soak a cotton ball in acetone, place it directly on your nail and then wrap said nail in foil. This effectively removes the shellac without excessive finger exposure to acetone. My fingers soaked for at least thirty minutes. Halfway between, a man who appeared to be running the show came over to me and asked if i'd gotten my shellac done there. When I replied no, he immediately started bashing the place I had gone to and said they'd used incorrect nail polish. WTF? Then, he said he'd be back in two minutes and started working on another lady's nails, I sh*t you not.Forty Five minutes later (after i'd already waited twenty before that), another nail technician nearby asks me if i'm happy, to which I responded "no, i'm in a hurry and am now likely going to be late to where I need to be. I was told it wouldn't take long and I don't know why I am being ignored or why my fingers are still being made to soak in acetone!?" His reply? "You shouldn't have come at such a busy time!" Double WTF.FINALLY someone comes over to do my nails and at this point i'm pissed and I've run out of time. I ask him if he can just do regular nailpolish instead in the essence of time, and he tries to convince me that shellac won't take long. I call bullsh*t! I've had shellac before, I know how long it will take, plus i've already been sitting here for an hour waiting for someone to take care of me! When I came in, if you were seriously this slammed, you should have told me it would take longer!. Ugh. Anyway, so I ask him how much it will be with regular nail polish instead of shellac, and he says '$19". Ummmm... WTF x infinite! I told him this is NOT what I was told upon entering, he continued to insist it was "$19 - 10 for removal, 9 for REGULAR NAIL POLISH."At this point i'm fuming, I'm sitting there, now 30 minutes OVER the hour I was quoted, with NO nail polish on my nails and not even a manicure having been done and I just said 'Forget, I'm leaving". I can't believe more people haven't reviewed this place!  I've been a few times and to be honest, I'd go there regularly if they weren't so far away from me.  ALWAYS friendly and accomodating!  I've never had to wait and I've never had a so-so job.  Even my boyfriend will go with me here for a little pampering!  I haven't held an event here, but they DO allow private functions...which is perfect for a bridal party or even a birthday party!
