This nail and hair salon looks like it came straight out of Kate Spade. Not only is their entire staff friendly, but they have a plethora of colors to choose from for nails. The owner, Becca, is extremely down to earth. Meredith, one of the nail gurus, who did my nails, picked out some colors and helped me break out of my normal pinks to choose a pretty winter white gel manicure. I went to Stella & Shay for the first time and absolutely loved it! I was visiting from out of town and they were offering a deal for a $25 Blow Out. Who doesn't want their hair to look awesome for a night out for only $25?! I booked the same day and got in within a couple of hours due to some cancellations. Very accommodating. Make sure you check them out on instagram because they are always sharing new deals and awesome products. This place is awesome! My stylist who does my hair at another salon posted an instragram picture from Stella & Shay after a manicure so I had to give it a try.The salon is stunning. I was there in the morning on a Tuesday so it wasn't busy. My nails are super short to begin with, and I nearly took off half my nail during a stressful situation the week before, but Jeniece who did my nails was super pleasant, very thorough, and did a great job! I had a manicure with gel polish and nail art and I think my total was $33. The same or maybe even a little less than you would pay for any other salon. Okay so I will admit that I'm one of those people who goes a biiiit too long between cuts and stylists almost always shame me for it. Ashlie didn't shame me, she just fixed me all while not forcing small talk and letting me sip my coffee. Before she made the big cuts, she double checked that it was what I wanted and talked me through the process.  The entire staff was so nice, they really seem to know their clients and go above and beyond for them. The vibe inside the salon is fun and modern, the coffee is good, they had wine that I didn't indulge in because my appointment was at 9 am, and it just felt comfortable.And the best part? They didn't try to foist product on me like other salons. It was nice to just pay and leave without guiltily looking at product I don't want or need before saying I'm good. My girl Meredith works her magic again on my feet. My feet really took a beating this summer and couldn't take another day in sandals with out being shamed. Between the soaking, callus work, hot towels and massage she really did wonders on them. My feet are now rocking a super chic Smith and Cult fall green. Stella and Shay is probably one of the chicest nail salons in Cleveland. It has that cool factor without being hipster. They always have the newest things in the nail game. I came to this salon as a new customer. I wanted a Brazilian Blowout hair treatment, cut and color. And this salon offered everything. I had very long wavy hair that tangles and frizzes easily so I wanted to try the chemical treatment to smooth it out and make it look healthier. I opted for a hair cut to take off 4 inches to help my flyways grow out and catch up with the rest of my hair. I came in for a consult with Elaine she said no problem. On the day of my appointment, I cancelled the color bc I thought it would be to rough on my hair and thank god I did because my experience was a nightmare. The Brazilian blowout is a chemical treatment involves putting solutions in my hair, blow drying hair, then flat ironing the hair then it all must be washed and dried and flat ironed a 2nd time. This stylist worked fast and was not gentle on detangling my hair. She would come across tangles and yank at them throughout the entire visit. She cut my hair last and my head hurt so much from how she handled my hair that I wanted to leave, I would look down on the floor to see the hair that she yanked out and didn't even want to look at the finished result. When I got into my car I had a huge head ache and I left feeling pretty upset that I went in for a treatment and cut to make my hair look healthier but it was all for naught considering how much breakage she caused by not being gentle. Yes my hair is smoother but who cares with all the extra flyaway hairs she created. My scalp hurt for 12 hours from her heavy handedness and I can't believe I paid for that kind of abuse. The salon did offer an $80 discount but really should be free considering the breakage and unnecessary discomfort. I consulted a few different stylists and spoke with the owner and they all said my head shouldn't hurt from the hair treatment so then what is left to blame- the heavy handed stylist. I have had my hair cut and styled at many different salons in Lakewood and I never had a problem with stylist detangling my hair ever before. I didn't even know how to handle the situation and she was the only stylist in the salon no one else was there to consult during the process until it was over. The stylist should never have to be told not to yank at tangles. I will never go back and seriously nervous about how a stylist will treat my hair in the future. All in all it was a waste coming here. A total waste sacrificing hair length for health becausemy hair would be healthier never having trusted that woman to touch my hair. Read Less

The salon is very chic but I have gone there twice and my nails started chipping after 4 days. This is not normal as I have received many gel manicures. I thought the first time it was a fluke but realize it either poorly trained nail techs or poor products. Also- I went there with a friend for two services- Pedi and mani (90 minutes and over $100 in services) and they wouldn't serve us a second glass of wine. They made an awkward statement like, "were not aloud." I get it, it's a complementary, kind gesture. However- it seems very cheap and staff had poor customer service/business skills. A friend of mine bought me 2 mini bar mani pedi combos on groupon as a gift. I emailed them for an appointment received a very quick response and a convenient appointment within a day so I was already impressed and excited. My daughter and I just got home from our visit and the services were great! I was a little bit concerned because the place is so beautiful that they would be a little snotty but so not the case! I hate to be that person to give less than a 5 star review.I must say this place has a great atmosphere. The woman that did my nails was personable and so hilarious. The salon has a beautiful concept and I especially love the whole alcohol aspect especially with whiskey but my gel manicure did not hold up at all. It has been less than a week and my nails are chipping and one nail the color is almost completely off.  I got my nails done to go to a destination wedding. The color was beautiful and went well with my outfits for the events. I was totally psyched but I did notice that this gel manicure was not as dense as other gels I have had. Even looking at other reviews with the pics those pictures seem like the typical hard gel. However, my nails began to chip by the evening of the 7th, mind you I got my nails done on the 5th so I was pretty bummed. Went here recently for a mani pedi - loved it!!!  My friend and I were late due to a big storm and they were very understanding.  The nail techs were both nice and easy to talk to, but also let us catch up with each other.  They had several options for nail polish (almost too many!), but I like that they had gel, regular, and then regular that doesn't chip as easily.   The salon itself is gorgeous - classy, lots of white and gray, clean.  You also get a drink with your service and don't get charged an arm and a leg!  The pedicure stations are so comfortable and include the back massager.  I will definitely be returning! I absolutely love this salon!  Not only is it super clean but it's also extremely beautiful!  The girls are super friendly and always greet you the minute you walk in the door.   Most importantly, they're all professionals who are incredible at what they do!If you need a mani or a pedi, Becca is hands down the best nail tech I have ever been to... She does such an awesome job!  My gel mani lasts so much longer than it used to before I started going to her.  I'll never go anywhere else!  If you need a cut or color, Tara is also the best hair stylist I have ever gone to... She's extremely talented!
