I gave this salon two tries. The first time I asked the price on the phone, and when it came time to pay they charged me $10 more. I thought okay, must be a reason, and let it go. The second time I MADE SURE to get the exact quote on the phone and sure enough, when it came time to pay, the stylist told the receptionist to charge $39 instead of $29 for a simple haircut. Bottom line, TWICE they tried to charge me more at checkout then what they said on the phone. I feel like it was very dishonest and obviously won’t be back. Read Less

Horrendous and rude staff. They do not have sufficient comprehensive skills. Due to their inability to listen without speaking over you, they ask the same questions and then get nasty when you’re displeased about having to repeat yourself over and over. Amazing amazing amazing!! I've had a few facials done here and they absolutely do not underdeliver. Some salons/spas will under treat you if you have a coupon or in my case.. a Groupon. Not revelations! They give you such a high quality service for a very reasonable price. Today we went for a couples massage and just like the facials.. 10/10 service. Best massage I've ever had. The stuff was incredibly nice. The environment was so cute and clean ! But they didn't ask what part of the body we need it more pressure on , or more massaged. My husband got us both the rejuvenation package because I wanted a couple's spa day for Christmas. Jimmy gave me my facial and massage. At 37 weeks pregnant the massage was awesome. We had to do some pillow arranging for comfort, but the back rub was so good. My husband got his facial and massage from Mia and was very happy. We then had the included lunch. I had the very berry salad and the berries were so good! My husband got the southwest chicken wrap and liked it.Then we got our pedicures and manicures from Carol and Jessi. Amazing. I've been going to Revelations for as long as I can remember, even when they were still at the old location. I've had different stylists over the years because people have left or I wasn't happy with my cut. Larena is the best I've ever had. She really listens to what you want and does an amazing job. I gave up on bangs years ago because the person who used to cut my hair left and everyone since hasn't been able to cut them how I wanted. When I got a consultation for a bleach job it was supposed to be around 50 dollars. After I was finished getting colored, my bill somehow doubled to due to the fact my stylist "had to use more toner".  She did not tell or ask me, this isn't what it's supposed to look like we'll have to use more toner. So in conclusion, she messed up not only the consult on the dye job, she messed up the dye job leaving my hair green and I ended up paying 100 dollars for it. NEVER RETURNING. Read Less

This past summer I volunteered with a refugee resettlement agency in Cleveland and one afternoon I decided to take one of our refugee clients and her daughter for a manicure. Even though it was their first time at a salon in the United States, Ann made them feel so comfortable. After all they have been through, it was wonderful to see them relax, enjoy themselves and appreciate their own beauty. Was at the salon on Tuesday for a pedicure. Had a wonderful service and have absolutely 0 complaints as far as that entails. On to why I'd rate this place a 1 out of 5. As I was sitting in the waiting area before my service, there was a young lady at the front desk with dark short hair and a beauty mark. She talked to me so fast as if she was constantly inconvenienced by my presence. I felt unimportant and not worthy of her time. As I sat, I overheard her complaining and talking poorly of her coworkers and customers. I havd no idea if she's a manager or not but regardless, I don't think any employee should talk about other employees or customers in such a classless way EVER- let alone at the front desk. If you have concerns about others, save it for private conversations or your diary. I hope future clients read this review and share it. I will let everyone I know be informed of this behavior. I'll start with the positive- I walked in & didn't have to wait. I got the worst gel manicure I have ever gotten in my life here. I only went because I had a spa finder gift card. I have gone to countless salons and always get shellac or gel- so I am not new to this process. Not only did this manicure look terrible.. it was not done professionally. She caused me severe pain while cutting my cuticles, did not get even near the sides of my nail beds, and it took at least twice as long as it normally does. My daughter and I did a package that included, massage, facial, manicure, pedicure, and added on eyebrows. Everyone was very sweet and we had a great relaxing day with a great lunch. The only thing we didn't like was the seating getting our pedicures, cushion on tile is not comfortable at all, my back was hurting most of the time. Other than that we loved our day. I had an appointment with another salon to correct a hair cut I didn't want and when I showed up they told me they had cancelled it I was not notified. To say the least I was furious with them and they would not even try to get someone else for me. I called Revelations which was just down the street, spoke with an amazing man Keith and explained my situation he told me to come in right away and they would take care of me. I was greeted by two sweet girls and offered a beverage, a few minutes later a very bubbly Jill approached me and said she would be taking care of me. I was treated so well and they made me feel so welcomed even though it was last minute. Jill did an amazing job and I absolutely love my haircut!! I made an appointment a week ago for a haircut with Larena. I'm 100% sure that when I scheduled the front desk said June 10th at 11am. I also have the card they gave me with the same information. When I arrived there, front desk could not find my name in the system. Larena says she has someone else coming at 11, and that my appointment was at 10. That's very disrespectful with a new customer. Came here for a birthday facial! It was my first time at this salon, and the experience definitely made me feel like they are worth coming back to for other services. I think that it would even be worth a try despite living on the east side! A Groupon brought us to this salon but I saw the actual prices. I had Jess on 5/13/16 for a mani/pedi before my wedding, and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. It was relaxing even though it was busy in the nail room. Two of my bridesmaids were with me and we were all in the mood to chat, so we thankfully each had a charismatic and funny person working on us who added to the fun! I had a full pedi and a gel mani. My toes are still flawless 1.5 weeks later and my nails are only just starting to come up at the edges--much better than my last gel mani from another salon that only lasted one week. I know my friends were also happy with their nails.The salon itself was HUGE--I was amazed each time I turned a corner. It was clean and the nail room didn't even have that normal chemical smell.I don't think I'll ever end up living in the area again, but if I did, I'm sure Revelations would end up being my nail salon! I took my mom and grandma here to get facials for Mother's Day. I used the 50% off Murad Facial Groupon.I would definitely recommend Revelations for spa services! No luxury was spared for our services. The spa area is quiet and peaceful. We each had our own rooms with tranquil music and even a heated bed. I needed someone to fix my hair before my birthday party last night, and when I called up last minute to see if they had any openings (mind you this was a Friday at noon) the girl at the front desk was very sweet and got me in with Carolyn. She was awesome! I had just bleached my hair after having blue in it and needed to get the rest of the blue out and her and another stylist were very friendly and upfront about what they were going to have to do, which was dye it brown and cut 3 inches off. I was hesitant about going here for a pedicure. I had a mediocre massage here a few years ago and I've heard not-so-good things about Revelations from others.  Unfortunately, I had to learn the hard way. I will start with the positives: I was given almost the full hour so I didn't feel rushed. She didn't talk my ear off so I could actually just relax. And she did a nice leg massage.  Staff were friendly.Now for the negatives...This is the worst salon pedicure I've ever gotten. The polish job looks uneven. I am used to leaving a pedicure with that lovely shiny and smooth polish on my toes. The base coat she put must've made it uneven.   The set up is not as comfortable. Instead of the comfy chairs with the foot bath, they have you sit on a pillow that's propped on the wall with a mosaic bowl for your feet.  It was comfortable enough - even included a back massager. But no bubbles? I guess I'm glad I just bought my own foot spa and can use my bath and body works fizzies for nice bubble bath.  Oh, and it was marketed as an aromatherapy pedicure and there was not a single fragrant oil or lotion. I felt like a diva until this happened - she made me bleed and was very rough when filing my toes!  It was painful and while I appreciate her telling me she gave me a cut and applying alcohol, it just made the rest of the experience uncomfortable. I was counting the minutes til I could get out of there!I had picked Revelations because I was going to be in the area, but I've learned my lesson - I'll stick with my trustworthy salons and just pay the few extra dollars.
