Until today, for 2 years, I have had good experiences and service with the women techs, but the man was rude and refused to do my nails or let his wife or sister. All because I asked about the $10 charge for having long nails. I wasn't angry or rude and asked him why he was. He said he didn't have time to deal with me, (No other customers in the shop). Told me I should go somewhere else and walked away. I sat there for a minute in shock before leaving rather than pursuing a confrontation. I will miss Hayley, but I would not be comfortable being in the shop after receiving such unfair, unjustified treatment. Read Less

Came here because my regular techs were booked up & I really liked it for my first time. I came in & waited for only about five minutes before I got started on. Dao is an awesome worker & I love my nails! She was very nice & talkative. She did exactly what I wanted. Not to mention they have a huge selection of gel colors. Very racist. Im a black well of woman. I spend may be 60 dollars on fill ins. Twice I've tried to get my nails done here. Every time the manager gives me an excuse why he cant do my nails. Made me wait for a nail tech who's appointment never showed up. So i left. Read Less

I’ve been to several places in the Southern Columbus vicinity and this is the best I’ve found. They keep appointments and can do walk ins timely or tell you they can’t do you don’t wait unnecessarily. I’ve received quality mani-pedi services with no problems. Cost is relative to service and appropriate. Only had one person who was rough with the file but she is no longer there. Great work. Read Less

I'm really pleased to review this nail salon as it is one of the best in the area. I was able to be seen after 15 min of waiting as a walk in... how awesome! The gentlemen that performed my gel manicure was so nice and intricate. He did 4 coats for me so I would be pleased with the turn out of the color. Worst place to get your nails done ever! I am 8 months pregnant and thought I'd get a little pampered before my big day. The guy kept asking me to scoot in, which is not easy with an 8 month baby bump in the way! I told him I couldn't because the baby is in the way and he proceeded to tell me that it hurt HIS back and it could cause my nails to be less than perfect if I couldn't! WHAT? I've never been to a place that considered their own comfort before the comfort of their paying customer! Then he asks how short and I said pretty short because I type all day and instead of starting somewhat short and asking if it was a good length he immediately goes all the way down and clipped my nail completely off! I paid $32 (which is way overpriced to begin with for a full set of regular nails) for literally nothing! I could've painted my nails at home and had the same length and cost nothing! Not to mention being comfortable at home without a table against my pregnant belly! Never been at this place before and will be sure to never go again!! I took my step daughter to get her nails done for the 2nd time in her life as a present for getting all A's on her report card. I had no idea where to go, the first place we walked in didn't seem very friendly and didn't want to take the time to help me with explaining what I needed (cause I had no idea what I was doing). When I walked in to Venus Nails they were so friendly and took the time to see what my daughter wanted! This made me feel so comfortable and I will make sure to bring her back for her future nail visits! She was very pleased with her nails and put such a big smile on her face!! I've been a happy, well tipping customer for many years...until Friday. I decided to switch from gel to regular nail polish for a while because I want to give my nails a break from the hard gel. My technician told me, after the fact, that I would be charged $10 for removing the gel since I want to go back to regular polish. She told me this was due to the work involved in removing the gel. This made no sense to me since they have to remove the gel anyway to do a fresh manicure. I felt like I was being penalized for going back to regular nail polish. I questioned her about it, but paid my bill anyway because I didn't want to cause a scene. I decided to just call the shop later to speak with a manager. I called back later and asked for the manager only to be told that he wasn't in the shop. So, I asked for his name so that I could call back another time and the person on the other end hung up the phone on me. I immediately called back and somehow the manager magically appeared. Amazing! She told me this is the fee that they charge for that service, but couldn't give me a legit reason why. By the way, this is not standard in the industry. They didn't lose my business due to the fee because I thought we could possibly work it out. They lost me as soon as the employee hung up on me. The pedicure I received at this salon was good but the lady nicked my big toe pretty badly. (Bled for about 2-3 mins before she could even work on it anymore) The next day it started feeling really sore and as the day went on it started to become more uncomfortable. That night my toe had swollen and became so painful that the slightest touch hurt and it almost brought tears to my eyes. (I'm no baby.. The only time I've ever cried over pain is when I broke my wrist and when my... eardrum ruptured) It sounds so silly to be in such pain because of your toe but this pain was intense and what made it worse was that I got my nails and toes done for a cruise we were going on.. The first couple days I couldn't wear any close toe shoes/heels because it was that swollen and sore. It made it difficult to walk as the pressure hurt. It definitely put a damper on the first few days of our cruise. I had to ice it, apply neosporin and take ibuprofen for the pain. I don't know what caused it.. Wether she just nicked it in a very sensitive place, dirty tools that caused an infection or what but it wasn't fun. I paid about $75 for a mani/pedi and a pretty generous tip because I'm a sucker and felt bad for the girl. (She seemed really bothered while working on my pedicure) As soon as I got home from the cruise I called them to see if they could tell me what happened and if I could get a refund to cover that pedicure. They gave me the run around for a couple days saying the manager wasn't available and he would call me back they even hung up on me a few times while I was in the middle of talking. I never received a call from the manager I had to call them multiple times to get in touch with him. (I wasn't mad or disrespectful I just wanted them to know what happened and pay me back for a bad experience and dampening my time on the cruise my husband booked us) I never received an apology just a "thanks for letting me know" I was told that a refund was too late I would have had to come in the day after my pedicure. (impossible in my case as I was driving to North Carolina to get on our ship) I was really dissapointed in the way they handled this situation. I could have acted very rude like some would have and jump down their throats but I was very respectful in asking for my money back and might I add EXTREMELY patient in trying to get in touch with the manager for multiple days. In my opinion Rose Nails in the Meijer store is the best nail salon around here.. I was just trying out something closer to home. Learned my lesson. Be careful ladies..
