The first time I tried this place, I loved it! My gel nails lasted for weeks. Sadly I can't say the same about my two other visits. The second visit, my nails only lasted about a week and a half. This last time, I got there before 6 and didn't walk out the door till 7:30. Not to mention, it looks like a 12 year old did my nails. This really is a hit or miss place I went here for years, and then stopped doing due to having nails consistently break. Went back recently I waited a while but they were nice about it. My toe nails weren't trimmed even. But my full set is still in good shape. Read Less

I will NEVER be coming back. I didn’t even get serviced because I was tired of watching customers who arrived after me (with NO appointment) get serviced before me because the technicians who were becoming available during my wait “didn’t know how to work on long acrylic nails”. I went in a couple days ago to get my nails done for prom and the guy I got was nice and apologized if he hurt me but after my nails were all done I got home and noticed that they were longer than I asked for they were super thick and every nail had a different thicknesses then the day of prom not even 24 hours later three of my nails on each hand were loose and hurting because they were so thick. The place honestly could have used a good sweeping and mopping. Definitely will not be returning. Oh and my sister paid $37 for my nails just for me to have to get them taken off the day after prom because they were hurting so bad. I would definitely recommend J & J Nail Spa! The ladies are always very efficient, friendly, and professional. My nails always look great and last. I've never had any issues here. The salon is clean and orderly. I think their prices are totally reasonable compared to other area salons. There's a wait sometimes but appointments can be made to avoid having to wait too long. Have been giving this nail salon more chances than they deserve..last visit they said the wait was only 15 to 20 minutes and one of the young girls set me at a station for a pedicure. The water was scolding hot but she did correct it. This girl was alone trying to handle 3 people at once...I sat there soaking for over an hour before she started with me. I got acrylic nails for the first time here. I didn't know how strong they were supposed to be, but by the end of the first week of having them, I had already lost 4 nails! I figured my lifestyle wasn't fit for having acrylics. I decided to try again and recently went to Walmart to get more acrylics, and those stayed on until they grew out and off, I mean they were truly invincible. The staff was nicer at Walmart and I felt more welcome and comfortable. Walmarts prices were better too. So other nail salons in the area were extremely busy so I decided to go to J & J. The woman was extremely rough with her technique and my first nail polish I picked she refused to use and she told me to pick another so I did and she refused to apply that one as well. She then picked out her own color that she wanted for me which was dark black . She refused to listen to me about not liking the color and applied it anyway. I now have to pay to get my nail polish off and get the color I wanted at another place. This color may be appropriate for Halloween but seeing it's the end of April it looks ridiculous. I have been to this nail salon twice, against my better judgement, and I should have learned from the first time...The vibe in this place is just off. Everything is covered in two inches of acrylic dust, none of the work stations ever look like they get cleaned, and I very much doubt that they even have an autoclave to properly disinfect the tools that they use. The old man (which is who did my nails both times despite my request at the second visit to NOT have him working on me) made every single one of my nail beds bleed both times he worked on me. He dissaproved of the gel color I picked out and made it very well known. He also tried to put acrylic nails on me both times even though I told him all I needed was a manicure and gel color. He tried to argue about putting a "full set" on me until I finally told him that since I work in a medical setting that acrylic nails are strictly off limits. He then got angry and stormed off to smoke ANOTHER cigarette while a very nice woman finished my gel color (Yes, he smoked 4 cigarettes all in the span of 30 minutes which is probably why it took AN HOUR to put gel on my nails!). Then when it was time for my pedicure I was not allowed to pick the color, it was chosen for me...Who does that?? I also saw the old man use the same tools that he used on my nails on his next client - the tools that my blood was on because he cut every single finger....Long story short my doctor is recommending that I get tested for Hepatitis B and C and also HIV.
