Tried this place cuz it was close to my work. went in for a repair and also got a fill. That night, the new nail and one next to it broke-which has never happened to me before. Next day went it to get those two repaired and was not happy I was charged since it hadn't even been 24hrs. And I was clearly in a rush but was made to wait 45min until the same guy got back from lunch even tho there was two other people there that were available to do it...I even said I didn't care who did it. Had great pedicures in the past but service is not what it used to be. It was fairly busy when we arrived but the man working that day ( August 10, 2017) escorted us the chairs for pedicures. He started my sister in law's Pedicure. I asked him if I could at least soak my feet while waiting for mine. At that time he informed me that he had another customer coming in 10 minutes and I would have to wait until after he did her pedi. At this point he was already putting my sister in law's polish on. It was very obvious that he was squeezing in a pedi before his appointment. He basically just washed her feet and polished her nails. We left after that. I was not going to wait. WALK INS ARE NOT WELCOME!! We waited about 30 minutes for a KIDS manicure. We told the nail tech we wanted a design-and she said fine. We showed her the picture and she said OK. After another 30 minutes doing a kids manicure we were told the person who was supposed to do the design work did not have the time to do it!! I was like "what? " we are at a nail salon, right? Maybe you should have told us that prior to starting???!!! Her nails were half done!? I expressed my frustration and was told if we could wait 35 MORE MINUTES she could finish it then! I called ahead and asked if there was any immediate openings and was told yes to come on in. I arrived within 5 minutes and was never greeted. I signed in and sat down and waited. Another beautiful manicure from Steve. I've been coming to this place almost exclusively for over a year now and any trips elsewhere have always resulted in subpar work. All of the technicians are responsive and listen if you ask for something specific. I've been getting stiletto shaped gel nails and this is one of the few places in the area that will do a true stiletto. They also are excellent about fixing something if it chips the next day or if you're not 100% happy. And they are extremely reasonable on pricing. I could not recommend them more highly. Read Less

I have to be completely honest about with this review because many like myself might be new to the area and looking for some place to get their nails done. The service was fast as it was a week day that I went. But the guy that did my nails was very sloppy, he skimped on the acrylic coating he put on top of the tip and pushed way to hard on the sides of my nails, on top of that a few of my nails are oddly shaped; as I did square nails. Do not recommend. Tina did my nails. I got a set put on and they are all crooked. I got gel nail polish, I wanted it dark so that you couldn't see the white nail though the polish and told her that, she wouldn't put more than two coats for it and when I asked her to put a third coat on my glitter, she made huffy noises and grabbed my hands and was just very rude about it. I asked her for a third coat for the rest of my nails since you could still see though it and she told me no. The polish was all off of my fingers and on my skin, had to go back the next day to get it taken off because I wasn't going to let that slide. Read Less

Terrible. I don't expect to much when I go to these little places but it was last minute. My acrylic is bumpy my polish isn't even and I still have rough edges on the sides of my nail. Not to mention the shape is off and I was charged extra for it! (Apparently almond and coffin nails are more) I wouldn't mind the fee if I didn't have to ruin my gel polish to reshape them myself! also I had to ask her to use a clean file and buffer. Read Less

I just moved to the Cuyahoga Falls area from out of state and was looking for a new "home" nail salon.  This place had great reviews online so I decided to give it a shot.  The pedicure was pretty standard, however the technician botched the polish job and he did not even clean up the edges of polish that was left on the skin.   I requested a regular manicure with gel polish.  After applying 3 coats of the gel polish, my nails looked like a toddler had painted them, very uneven and thick.  The technician removed the gel polish, which anyone who has had gel before, knows that is not a quick / easy feat.  He tried to scrape it off initially, which again, anyone who has gel manicures regularly knows that will scrape off a layer of your nails.  I had to ask that he soak it off.  After finally removing the botched gel, and picking a new color, he applied the new color to the first finger and I could tell it was going to be just as bad.  Perhaps this salon does not replace their polish regularly or store it properly, or perhaps this technician was not educated in the job.  Regardless, I was there for over 2 hours and walked out with a very expensive pedicure and half way done manicure (I asked him to stop and not apply anymore polish to my nails) all for the bargain price of $40 (to be read as extremely over priced).  Back to searching for a new regular salon. Moving to Ohio from the Bay Area I struggled finding even a decent place to get a manicure. Now, I've been coming to Empress nails for about 6 months and haven't been interested in trying anywhere else since the first gel manicure I got here. They can get pretty busy at times but I never end up waiting long. Every time I come in the door they are so friendly, prices are awesome, and they truly do a great job on my nails!I can only speak for shellac manicures/color changes but every one that I've had here has been wonderful. They do great French shellac manicures too! I'm planning on a pedicure once spring rolls around and I have no doubts I'll be happy with it. Read Less

Great job on my nails by Steve. Nice consistent looking acrylics with gel polish. Like that you can call ahead for a time and not have a super long wait. Best ever nail art by Tina. She really is amazing. I give her an idea of what am looking for and she jacks it to the next level. All are unique, all by hand. Crazy cool- always am complimented and asked where I get them done. I've been here 3 times, I'm new to the area so I always stick with the first as long as it's not terrible. I can tell you my 3rd visit was the 3rd strike and now I'll be looking for a new salon. The first time my nails were cut unevenly, the second time I was content with the work but still have had better nails before, and this last visit, I asked for a glitter ombré, I even showed a picture of what exactly I wanted, I feel as though it's something I feel like even I could do if I didn't hate painting my own nails.... Stopped in for a quick toe polish job (black french tip) and received horrible service. Polish was very slapdash and when I tried to get it fixed, I was successful in getting one toe fixed. Then I was left to sit there until I decided I was ready to check out. Long story short, I tried to voice my complaints once more (polish left on skin, polish not opaque in certain spots, lines crooked on tip, etc) and the lady proceeded to argue with me and acted like she didn't understand my issue. Fast and friendly service. I got a shellac manicure from here. I was greeted immediately. The shellac was perfect and took no time at all which was great because I was in a bit of a hurry. The only reason they get 4 stars is because I didn't get a massage portion in the manicure which is my favorite part. I've been here every 4-6 wks for 3 1/2 yrs. Stephen and his family are always friendly, but above all it's CLEAN. Went to for long time. Employee's/owner's dont reallty care and have continued to slack in product and customer service. Nails almost always tend to be uneven. Dont stay on long and continue to life at least two nails EACH time. Have explained to Tech several times, quality and customers service continue to lack.
