This place is really cool. I've walked past it dozens of times before deciding to make a reservation (and nearly decided against it after realizing what a daunting system that was). Nevertheless, I'm really glad i went - it is a really chic place with great staff, lots of options, and great service. The one detractor is the entry - it has a raised threshold i tripped on and while the girl at the desk was concerned, she also said 'a lot of people trip on that, i don't know why they don't fix it.' If it's a known issue they just haven't cared to fix, that's an issue. They have thoughtfully provided a scratchy rough entry mat for you to land on, though. Overall, though, i had a really nice relaxing trip with a couple cups of hot tea, reflexology, and general pampering. A word to those that might drive in, though, you will want a parking strategy and buffer time. Also, there is major construction going on next door, so it might not always be a nice relaxing time. As soon as I walked in the door I felt welcomed. I love how they make it feel like home. From greating you at the door to asking if you'd like anything to drink. Best manicure and pedicure I've ever had. I Love how they have their own product line from amazing sugar scrubs to their very own cuticle oil. Something has gone awry since last summer. I came in for a pedicure today after a 6 month postpartum hiatus. I was greeted with the smell of cat pee, and unkempt plants that are creepily growing out of control. The staff was very friendly and full of smiles though. I had a basic pedicure and was expecting to pay ~$40, as I recalled from my prior trips there last summer. My jaw almost hit the ground when the receptionist told me it was $52, before tip! I was so very excited to try this place. But it was a major fail. I really hate having to write it. But it's true unfortunately. Prices: 1/5Bottom line - their pricing is ridiculous for what you get. I came in here knowing very well that the pedicure I was going to get, started at 59 (with gel). I also knew that it was 10 extra dollars for a massage add on, which I opted for. I have heard so many great things about this place, and I don't mind paying high price for high quality. I was expecting so much more than what I received. After tip, I walked out of here 85 bucks in the hole. Services: 1/5Now to actually get to the point of why my pedicure was absolutely NOT worth the money. All the pedicure entails is a scrub, nail trim (if desired), cuticle treatment... and a bath bomb of your choice, thrown into the copper bowl (which is the most exciting part) woopdedoo. THATS IT. No massage (unless you pay extra), no lotion (this part is only added with the massage), no mask, no paraffin treatment. The massage I received was not impressive whatsoever. I was expecting so much more and got the most basic pedicure I have ever received. It is obvious that they are only charging an insane amount of money for their services, to pay for their outrageous rent. Environment: 4/5This is the only nice thing about the whole salon. It has a very rustic feel to it, and I must say that their copper bowls, are beautiful. They have art set up on the walls, that I'm assuming are local since the short north is where the gallery hop is, and quite a lot of shops have local art, so I appreciate that. Bricks walls, and old wooden floors. It's dim lit, but with enough natural light from the large store-front windows. It's very cozy and relaxing inside, and they play upbeat modern music, which I like. Customer service: 3/5It's okay, no one wowed me a whole bunch, besides my pedicurist. She was nice and held a conversation pretty well. I was offered a drink, which was nice. When I checked out, the girl at the front seemed pretty extensively bored, and when I paid her she didn't even thank me for my visit, or say goodbye, or anything. She didn't even look me in the eye at all. Was not friendly whatsoever. She was just silent, which was awkward, and a lasting impression of how awful this place really is. Location: 3/5On the short north, so expect to have difficulty finding parking. They are also right on the edge of all the construction, which is completely out of their control, but it is still frustrating to find them. Their store-front is presentable and chic, I like it. Overall: 2/5My biggest complaint is the price does not match quality. They are robbing their customers, and I feel almost betrayed by how much they charge for the services they offer. Like I said before, I do not mind paying high price for high quality, which is what I was expecting from friends and reviews. But I was deeply disappointed and will steer clear from here. Make an appointment - walking in isn't easy - which normally I like the option to not plan and walk in and get my nails done at my convenience - BUT - pre-planning is totally worth it in this case!The receptionist and techs are so friendly and accommodating. I felt immediately relaxed in the clean and professional shop. And to speak to the customer service - my appt was running 20 mins late, so they comped it w/out me even asking. It was a very nice gesture, adding to my extreme pleasure and happiness to return. And the techs! Oh girls!! Ok, so I wanted to try this place twice before giving it a review. I found out about W Nail Bar through a friend. I initially had my reservations because of the price. A few months after my friend told me about her experience, I decided to go myself. My first visit was a pedicure at the Polaris location. For those who don't know, the nail salon at this location is actually inside DSW. Genius idea! I honestly forgot who I had as a nail technician because I initially booked an appointment with a woman named Taylor (I believe), but they switched me around. But the other woman was still nice, professional, and knowledgeable about the products and the salon's brand. My pedicure was fine, but it felt a little rushed. I felt like I could have gotten a better massage/exfoliation, so I would give the overall experience a 4/5. Now for my second visit (about a week after my pedi), I went to the High Street location and got a gel mani. That visit was the bomb.com!! I specifically booked with Olivia because I saw her work on Instagram. From the moment I walked in, I could tell she knew her stuff. I had a decent idea of what I wanted, but she provided recommendations that made my nails look even better! She took her time and really put the effort into making my nails look great. That was just 2 days ago, but I still can't stop looking at my nails. I've gotten so many compliments from strangers! Ask for Olivia if you're going for a gel mani. She is AMAZING!! For those who have issues with the price, I don't get it. Maybe those folks just had a bad technician, but I would honestly say the price is worth it. These folks know what they're doing and you can tell they pride themselves in providing high quality service. Price complainers have to understand how a small business works, especially one that tries to use all natural products, and even some vegan nail polishes. We're not talking about your normal nail salon in a plaza. I also appreciate the cleanliness of both locations and the fact that the technicians actually engage with you. Very friendly and welcoming. They'll even fix your gel mani if it starts to chip within the first week. Winning! On a unrelated note, can I just how I love the diversity of the staff!!!! I mean, I was thoroughly impressed. There is so much age, racial and ethnic diversity among the technicians, in all shapes and sizes. That matters to someone like me. As my nail technician put it, it's clear that the owners of W Nail Bar wanted it so that each customer coming in can potentially relate to one of their technicians. I want to personally thank the owners for placing this as a priority and business value. Overall, if you want a kick-ass, high-quality gel mani, this is the place to go! Katy does an AMAZING job on my gel nails! She takes her time with doing my nails, which last for a long time! She is creative and gives great insight. The last time she did my nails they lasted 6 weeks, which is outstanding for how harsh I am on my hands. For a wonderful pamper and self-care day, visit the W nail bar. At the W Nail Bar I had a life changing experience. I have never left a pedicure more relaxed and happy than I did after my visit to W.  From the moment you walked in, everyone was kind and welcoming, treating me like an old friend. They invited me to select my polish color and offered me a drink. I chose to get a charcoal detox pedicure with gel polish. The pedicurists were friendly, chatting through the whole service. I went to the W Nail Bar this weekend as part of a wedding party, and it ended up being a fairly good experience.  The wedding was on a Saturday and I'm writing this on Wednesday with one little chip in my right index finger, so I take that as a good sign.  Everyone was very friendly and helpful.  The salon is very clean and organized.  We did have an appointment, so I can't speak to the walk in-ability, but the salon was very busy when we arrived at 10:00 Saturday morning, so I'd go ahead and make a reservation to be on the safe side.  I messed up one of my toenails later in the afternoon and I went back and they fixed it for me. I had kept my nails "natural" for quite some time & a few months ago I decided to give a gel manicure a try & now I'm addicted! The W Nail Bar has a beautiful atmosphere different from what you'd expect from your typical nail salon. I've been getting my nails done by Ciarra B. for quite a few months now & she is amazing! She really takes her time to make sure the nail & design is up to her own standards & my gel manicures can easily last for nearly a month. Rudest. People. Ever. Walked in hoping to get a pedicure and was told "We are booked and YOU need to make an appointment."  Then the girl at the desk just stared at me with a catatonic expression.  Given that her nails looked horrible and they were rude as hell, I decided to skip it.  Fast forward a month later when my son's gf went there for a mani/pedi. Her service was botched with a sloppy polish job and then they refused to fix smudges that occurred because the polish was so thick and uneven. Do yourself a favor and go to Nails on Neil or head up north to Polish! off of Sawmill in Dublin.UPDATE:  No service was experienced b/c they wouldn't take a walk-in.  I did visit this salon while my son was getting his hair cut at Salon Lofts in the Short North (at Price).  I had time to kill, so I stopped in to get a pedicure. My mom and I were looking for a special place to get our nails done together, unfortunately The W Nail Bar was not that place.... We had called ahead to make an appointment, and were led to believe that they would work us into their schedule, but that did not happen at all! My mom's nails were done, though she didn't like the gel color that the lady suggested and put on (by then it was too late to change it) and my polish was taken off, but they did not have the time to finish re-polishing mine. I have had several really good experiences at The W Nail Bar.  The ability to get an appointment quickly is a huge deal for me, because my schedule is very erratic and busy.  Every time I've called I have been able to get an appointment within hours, last minute. Both nail technicians I have had (Jamie & Daveena?) did an awesome job! Perfect shaping and excellent quality, also a pleasure to chat with.  The atmosphere of the salon is great!  Beautiful facility and though they're busy, it never feels loud or rushed in there.  I also love the diversity of the staff.  No one looks the same as another, so no nail robots. All the staff are lovely and stylish and bring their own special touch to doing nails.    Price wise I would say W is right in line with what I'm used to spending on my manicure and pedicure.  The only complaint I have is that related to all shops in the Short North.  Parking is always hard to find, so you always have to budget extra time to find a meter. This was my first visit and I absolutely loved it! The salon smells like a spa as the aromatherapy hits you when you walk in. The staff is professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, and the salon is very clean. I went after a long day of work and this turned out to be a very fun and relaxing experience for me. I've been going to the W Nail Bar for the past 6 months or so, and every visit has been fantastic. Weekends are VERY busy, but my nails have still looked amazing. Going during the week is definitely preferred :) I've had many gals do my nails, but recently started sticking to Mari - she has such a great eye and hand when it's comes to my polish looking smooth and my nail art looking perfect. I have gotten my nails done by Olivia several times now. I keeping going back because I love her. She is very detail oriented and I can count on great looking nails every time I leave. I really, really wanted to like this place… but I am sad to say it did not do it for me. Aesthetically it’s a cute little place with great taste in décor. However, the lady who did my nails was not friendly at all! Usually people will introduce themselves and tell you their names- she did neither. She also did not talk to me about anything besides nails(colors and cut in beginning). I tried to talk to her and she was very short back- not a great first impression or way to mak...e people want to come back! Also, it seemed very, very rushed. The lady next to me started at the same time I did and I finished 15 minutes before her. Also, usually after filing nails and buffing they have you wash your hands—nope not my nail tech. The girl next to me did though- just shows how rushed it was. Also, some of my nails are cut sideways and not straight at all. Some sides of my nails are missing polish and some of the polish is bumpy- too much clear polish. When I had my hands in the UV gel light it burned extremely bad like an 8/10– I read online about it (heat spike) and it can be due to wrong technique and/or thinner nail beds. I was staying at the Hyatt in downtown Columbus while taking the Ohio bar exam, and I was looking for a nail salon in walking distance that was open past 5 PM. I found the W Nail Bar and made an appointment online immediately. The inside of the nail bar was adorably decorated and incredibly clean. The staff was so friendly and the owner took the time to chat with me when I showed up early. The nail tech did an amazing job! She was fast and neat. I am writing this review six days later and my gel nails look like I just got them done. Their homemade hand scrubs and cuticle oils were amazing and I ended up buying a bottle of the cuticle oil to keep in my purse. I got so many compliments the next day from strangers about my nails. I visited this place after seeing numerous photos on IG. I was pleasantly impressed with the nail color selection and shop itself. I have definitely had better pedicures but my gel manicure turned out great! Cortney L. serviced me and our conversation made the service enjoyable. They will def need to expand soon because the area in which they provide services is TIGHT! Not private at all... 2 ppl being serviced at one at all times. Lastly, the prices steep! I paid 99.99$ for a gel mani w/basic design + pedi with regular polish! It would have been more if I'd chosen gel pedi! I went to The W Nail Bar on a Saturday to celebrate my birthday with my mom and little sister. It was busy but they got us right in. I was amazed at the pedicure options and the amount of polishes to choose from. I was overwhelmed! Our pedicures were great as well as our gel manicures. I did however pick out a nail color I was unsure of. It was color changing. They showed me what color it would change and I had second thoughts but said what the heck! I'll go for it. After 24 ...hours, I HATED IT!!! I called in asking what could/should I do. It was my fault I picked it so I was positive they would say nothing could be done. I was wrong, Megan was so nice and took down my number and contacted Lauren. She got back to me by the end of business hours and said call in for an appointment and they'd change my polish. This place must only get rated so highly because it's clean and in a trendy location. I got a gel mani and pedi and I was not impressed with either service. They massaged my feet and hands for less than 3 minutes and the chairs aren't very comfortable that you sit in for the pedicure. My manicure was the worst that I've ever had and started coming off within a day. Nothing relaxing about this place. The only highlight for me was the variety of colors to choose from. Read Less
