Have always had amazing experiences with manis and pedis!!! ..but I do NOT recommend their eyelash extensions. The lash stylist was on the phone and was hurried. She did not tape my lower lashes down until after she glued my lashes together more than once. I ended up having to visit an optometrist to get a small clump of glue and lashes removed from inside my upper eyelid. Although she was apologetic and kind, these are my eyes. My friends and I made appointments at 130 today. We got there at 120 and we were seated immediately. My two friends got their pedicures started right away. I sat and soaked my feet for 20 minutes before my friend asked if I was going to get service. They realized they made a mistake and I had been skipped after she pointed it out. The gentleman who skipped me came over and left the client he had already started. Was hoping the experience would improve after that. I paid 50$ for the cappuccino pedicure for the reason of the “extended massage” in the description. The gentleman went so fast through the entire service I finished at the same time as one of my friends who started 25 minutes prior. When I was checking out, I asked why I hadn’t gotten a massage and gentleman who did my pedicure said he did do one I “was too busy talking to pay attention” and then walked away speaking loudly in his language. I was still charged the entire 53.75$ despite waiting 20 min to get service once I was seated and a 30 second massage. Disappointed in the service and will not be back. Read Less

Don't go here! I got a new set of nails by Jenny, they were very bumpy, they had dents in them. I went back requested a different lady to fix them, they look much better only leaving one nail with a dent. About a week later a piece of the acrylic chipped off. They pretty much try to make you get gel polish, i declined. The only positive thing i can say is my polish is still on and it looks great. Such friendly staff who looked after me like I was a long time customer, I had the medium set of lashes which took just under an hour, it was so relaxing! They look amazing. This is the most unprofessional,  racist,  stereotypical,  untrained nail establishment I've ever visited.  These people are con artists that consistently overcharge, are not properly trained, refuse to acknowledge their mistakes and are completely slanderous.  They actually called the police on me because I complained that my nails were horrible. I asked my nail tech,  the owner, to look at my nails when she was done, that were supposed to be ombre solar nails, and be honest about the outcome. She knew they were bad, she couldn't repair them and she insisted on me letting her soak them off at 10pm. I refused.  She called the police.  She then lied saying I refused to pay and tried to leave,  which I never did.  And this woman had the audacity to completely fabricate a lie, saying that I go around to all of the local salons complaining so that I don't have th pay for my services. THIS WOMAN HAS NO IDEA WHO I AM. No clue that I've been a salon owner myself for almost 20 years and in the beauty industry for almost 25. It's impossible to get a massage during a manicure/pedicure anymore. I even paid extra for an "extended massage" to be included in my pedicure, and they did not even pretend to massage my feet. I went to this nail salon yesterday around 2:15pm and was a walk-in with no appointment. The front desk receptionist was nice enough and the wait wasn't too long (about 5-10min). I let her know I wanted a full set, acrylic ombré white and the first nail technician (Tara) that I sat with had no clue what she was doing and misquoted the price as I'd later find out. She intially quoted a price of $55 and I agreed to that. When it became clear she didn't know what she was doing, I switched to another nail tech (Becka) and she then said the price would be $65. The place was clean enough, Becka was extremely sweet and knew exactly what I needed. The only issue I had with this place was the expensive price and how it seemed they tried to get the most money out of you. If they would've told me from the beginning how much the nails cost, it would've been better. Also, I was out of there 4:23pm so I spent around 2 hours there which means if you do plan on coming there, set aside as much time as possible. Read Less

Went in on Thursday and had my nails balanced and gel polished by "Tracy". Could tell she was brand new because she kept burning me with the drill when she was filing. Left with nails very lumpy and thick on one side and thin on the other. Gel polish is bubbly too. By Sunday 2 nails were broke and gel polish chipping. My last balance from another place I went 4 weeks with absolutely no issues or chipping. Unfortunately, that place was packed so I left and went to Avalon. I now have wait until I'm home from vacation to get them fixed somewhere else and pay again. I do not recommend going there at all unless you make an appointment with someone that came recommended. I came for a nice relaxing "me day" of a Sunday. The atmosphere was nice? However I was not satisfied with the final product. My gel nail on my nails were applied too thick and my cuticles were not tended to AT ALL. By day 3 my the corners of my nails looks atrocious. Also got a pedi not crazy impressed with that either. All the technicians are courteous to me. My favorite technicians are Lin and Jenny. My pedicures and manicures come out great. Visited Columbus for a couple of weeks and found them through an online search. Located at Easton Town mall near Nordstrom and Kona Grill, around the corner from build a bear. It was very peaceful, quiet, upscale, relaxing atmosphere. There was a receptionist who immediately seated me for a natural nail mani/pedi. Its a bit pricey, but nothing good comes cheap. The manager, Cindy, refused her service mid way through a manicure and told her multiple times that they were all scared of her and would not serve her any longer. This was due to an anxiety attack. Came in with my best friend to get a pedi for my birthday and wasn't impressed. The girl at the front was nice but the nail tech was kind of rude especially when we didn't go for the $60 service. My water was cold and the spa part didn't work..I basically got a tub of cold water with a plastic bag floating in it. Not to mention I think a 5 year old does a better job with nail polish. Went with my daughter and her friend. Prices seemed good so we chose to come here. I had a terrible pedicure by Kim. I paid for the signature pedicure and she put salt scrub on after 5 seconds was taking it off. I had to ask her to scrub the bottom of my feet to get dead skin off. She did. Tried this place out by just getting reg mani, clear polish. Super easy. I told her multiple times the only thing I cared about was a really good cuticle clipping. She barely clipped the skin and didn't even use cuticle cream. She just winged it with water. A one min massage later and clear polish, I left with dry, scraggly cuticles and the polish is already bubbled around the cuticle. 15 min and $22 later, I wish I had just done nothing. Read Less

I have been visiting every 2-3 weeks for the past several months for my acrylic balances. Not all of the nail technicians are great at doing these so I quickly learned which nail tech I should visit. Therefore, I made appointments for my service to ensure I could  specifically see her. Unfortunately, appointments here mean nothing. I have never been serviced within 15 minutes of my appointment time and while I find it extremely annoying and inconsiderate, I tolerated it because I was always satisfied with the work. However, most recently I have arrived to find I have been double booked with others, and have even shown up to learn she isn't even there. An apology only means so much at a certain point. Never has any level of compensation should have been offered. There are a lot of nail salons between my neighborhood of German Village and the Easton Mall. I know the service can't be much worse. So now, I'm just going to have to take my nails and my business to one of those. Read Less

Let me get straight to the point.  This is one of the worst place I've ever been to for a pedicure.  Requested one of their $50 pedicure which includes "massage",  "scrub" and a hot towel wrap on your legs.  The massage if that even qualify as one is a big disappointment.  A 5 year old can probably give a massage better than what I got.  There was no pressure at all.  It's like getting a massage with a feather.  The scrub was performed with the technician using the tip of her fingers/nails.  It was the worst feeling as it felt like she's scraping your skin off with her nails.  And if you want a buff shine, that will cost you an extra $5.  And when she tried to make small talk, the first question she asked was "How many children do you have?".  I thought that was odd and intrusive.  So let's just say I won't be coming back to this nail salon. I went to try this place because it seemed nice and I never get anything done for myself to relax. When I first came in the lady was very stand of fish. She asked me what service I wanted and I told her gel nails. She told me he price and I said ok! She stood and looked at me, and confused I asked ' do I pay now??!' She said yes. That was odd, as everywhere I've ever went I pay at the end. Nail tech came up shortly after and started to get everything ready and had me soak. As I was soaking and all throughout the whole service I watched others come in and sit down, not prepaying, and others pay as they were leaving. As he nail tech began, I told her I didn't want my cuticles cut just pushed back and she made a face almost of disgust. She asked me why and i told her I just didn't like that. She asked could she cut them a little and I said I didn't want them cut at all. As she was prepping my nails and  polishing them, Saborit 5-6 people came over and in all of the conversations I heard 'cuticle' and they all had to get an up close look at my nails. Although uncomfortable, and since I had already paid, I continued to sit. She asked my why I didn't want my cuticle cut again, as if it was really bothering her, and I told her because I don't like the hang nails and peeling skin I get after, and because in cosmetology school ( which I am licensed to do nails) we were taught that this can cause infection. She gave me this surprised look as if she was unaware. Although the finished look of my nails was nice, I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life. This is the third time I have been her.e  While the location is good as well as hours, this place is over priced and they constantly try to up-sell you.  I spent $68 for a mani/pedi that took 30 mins for all.  Also, they seem to fight over their clients amongst each other which I didn't like. Avalon provided the worst manicure service I have ever had. They cut me twice and refused to refund my money (which they had conveniently collected before the service was provided). They also cut my friend, who was there with me that day, so this was not a coincidence. I have been to much less expensive places where I felt safer and where the product was more professional. My manicurist missed spots, etc... Not to mention, being cut in a public place with shared tools is highly disturbing. I am very unhappy with Avalon. I will never return, and I urge you not to go at all! Avalon needs to shape up and respect their customers through providing a better quality service and making it right when they fall short.
