If you want a decent cut at a great price, from a woman-owned business in the heart of Tremont, look no further. If, however, you want a bit more - acknowledgement you've walked in the door, say, or a stylist who isn't too busy with other clients to listen to what you want, then you might want to keep looking.I recently booked an appointment here on the recommendation of a friend (whose cut does look fabulous). I am not a regular salon attendee, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect; but I had a job interview coming up and was desperately overdue, so I decided to treat myself. Aside from being more visually appealing inside, I suspect I'd have had a similar experience at a stripmall chain store - not really my idea of 'treat'.When I walked in the door, I was promptly ignored for a good ten minutes; not so much as a Hello, be right with you. Once that greeting finally was given, I had another chance to cool my heels and leaf through a magazine before the stylist had a free moment to see what I wanted. I had booked a cut & color, but only the second part stuck in her memory. I had to mention wanting the cut as well at least twice. As for the color, I asked for a medium chestnut with maybe a little auburn undertone. What I have is unquestionably red. A dark auburn, and not saying it doesn't suit my features, but I was hoping for something that didn't so loudly announce Dye Job. Color applied, I was again marooned in my chair while she went back to finish the other four people she was working on.Once the coloration was finished, I again had to remind her about the haircut. Now, its pretty close to what I wanted, but if I hadn't made a point of TELLING her, who knows what I would've wound up with? She was too distracted to ask what I had in mind. No question I've definitely gotten better treatment in a friend's kitchen.I'm not ridiculously unhappy with the final product, and I might consider going back if I just need a trim. But I don't feel that my experience was what I would have expected for salon prices. Its possible the addition of more stylists (they are looking) would lighten the work load and allow a little more attention to clients - something the current set-up doesn't seem to offer. Read Less
