I've been bringing my children here for years. They always get a quality cut and look amazing afterwards. Everyone is welcoming and happy at SOTO, from George at reception, to all the stylists.  My favorite things about SOTO:-downtown location-free parking in "visitors' lot" to the west of the building -free coffee, hot cocoa, teas, or, my personal fav, wine! I came here with a bridal party the day before the wedding for manicures and pedicures. We were given a private space and assigned 3 technicians for 8 people. We arrived at 11am and didn't leave until 230pm. I was only getting a manicure and received quite possibly the worst manicure of my entire life.  My cuticles were pushed back but not trimmed, my nails weren't filed, the polish was not only on my nails but also on the cuticles and surrounding skin, I wasn't given a hot towel treatment, and no lotion was included. Because I was there for a private party with the wedding party and the bride was there, I didn't feel like it was an appropriate situation in which to raise complaints, so I simply remained quiet. My mom had her manicure done by the same technician and also received a terrible manicure (some of her nails weren't even entirely painted). My sister, who had a manicure done by a different technician, received a high quality manicure with no complaints. I ended up calling the salon later that day to explain my disappointment and when I asked to speak to the manager, the manager was far from sympathetic and literally told me that no hot towels and lotion are included with a shellac manicure because moisture ruins it. Everyone else in the wedding party who received a shellac manicure not done by my technician received hot towels and lotion so that excuse doesn't fly. I ended up paying $38 plus tip for this manicure, and that price was a 20% discount because I was with a group. I will definitely not be back to this salon for nail services. Read Less

Scheduled an appointment for a pedicure, as listed on the website for $45 (also listed on website was a $10 add-on for Shellac). Asked for Shellac and was told no, they don't do that with pedicures, despite the website listing it as an option. Then asked for french tips and was told no, the nail tech doesn't do that. But if I wanted a pale color, I could go elsewhere to have the white tips added (?!). The staff was friendly enough, so it wasn't a complete loss. But then when I went to check out, they tried to charge me $85. I said no, that's not right. They insisted it was. I had to show them on their own website that what they did was listed at $45, so they finally honored it. And my shellac-less toes were smudged twice before I even left, and to fix it, more polish was just globbed on top of the already super thick coats applied (that took over two hours to completely dry). I would not return to this salon. If I wanted cheap and amateur service I could have gone to a mall kiosk. Disappointed. Read Less

I absolutely love this salon. It has a great atmosphere, very clean and everything is new and chic. But most importantly I Looooooooove MEL! I made an appointment with her on a whim and I was overjoyed with the results! She had excellent customer service, my hair is healthier and she styled it just the way I wanted. Went here for the first time for a partial highlight and trim. Mel did my hair and did an amazing job! She really paid attention to what she was doing and was very friendly. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was having the "assistant" dry and style my hair before Mel came to check the cut once dry. I wish Mel would have done all of it - she was just way more experienced and I was not expecting to have a trainee do anything but shadow. My husband sees Cole and always has a great haircut! The salon is chic and inviting! The equipment they use is top of the line. I had never seen a floating/rotating dryer while my highlights processed. Super cool! Read Less

Such a cool spot in Cincinnati! They were able to fit me in for a pedicure on short notice and they did a stellar job. Everything here is immaculate and super clean - they use really high quality products. It is definitely on the more expensive side but you leave feeling amazing and don't feel the need to shower as soon as you get home~ Read Less

This salon is beautiful. Wine is served with service and I extremely love the nail salon although they only have two massage chairs. The hair stylist that did my hair left me sitting with a product on my hair for over an hour. Then another time had me waiting 20 mins over my scheduled appt time. Loved my experience, had a color treatment and re color touch up. Could only say that they did and amazing job on my hair, not many salons can actually handle thick long black hair and going to a level 6-7 with out damage, and this is one salon where they treated my Hair carefully and gently I am truly impressed..I kept length and got the summer color with out breakage..Thank so much for your amazing service Angelo Culvert.. I normally do not write reviews but this could ruin your life for 10+ days so I thought I should. I recently received a spray tan at this salon. The lady was extremely nice and the salon was also a very nice place....so in a way I feel bad writing a horrible review. I came home and looked really orange but I was told to shower the next day and I will be fine. I showered before I left for work and instantly became worried because I was blotchy/streakey everywhere and still VERY orange. I was glad it was cold out so I wore a long sleeve shirt and pants and tried not to talk to anyone but it didn't matter because my hands looked disgusting. I got this done earlier in the week for an event that weekend and bathed/exfoliated everyday and it still would not go away (still got asked about it yesterday which would be almost three weeks). It was so noticeable that people came up to me asking what happened. I had a girlfriend who did the same thing a day afterward and she also received the same results. It has been almost three weeks and I am still trying to get this off of me. I warn you....DO NOT GO HERE TO GET A SPRAY TAN. Read Less

Paula: Delivers "Pretty!"As a personal trainer I can't employ many of the traditional tactics - pretty dresses, makeup, etc - to remedy an ugly day and still be taken seriously by my clients. Instead maintaining the "healthy look" is essential, which clearly includes nice silky strands on top. I was so lucky to meet Paula! She amped up my highlights just enough to look saavy, but not sketchy, and the use of several colors it blends well like a Monet painting. She also recommended the Brazilian straightening treatment, which has cut my styling time by about 90%. My hair now is always soft, smooth and straight now, and thus so much more manageable. No more 20min of straighening w/ a blow dryer and flat iron - which was killing my hair. I now can let the hair air dry and/or lightly hit it w/ the dryer. WONDERFUL! An upscale salon with friendly staff, to say the least, I was impressed! Not only was the service great, but surprisingly also the price!Having CURLY hair, I am very picky when finding a stylist. I saw ALISA and was highly impressed with her skill with curly hair. Not everyone can cut this particular type of hair (especially mine that is curly on top, frizzy around the the face and straight underneath), however the cut was AMAZING! Parking is FREE!!!
