I took my 82 year old mother in for a day of pampering ordering a pedicure/manicure. Upon entering, everyone was extremely unorganized and spoke/understood minimal English. I was wondering how this would work if they could not communicate effectively with their customer's needs. After my mother's pedicure, I noticed the technician elected to do the manicure in the pedicure chair by placing a towel over her lap to catch the clipped nails and dead skin. This I found shocking as being and avid customer of nail salon's, I've never seen a technician do a manicure in a pedicure chair, rather the customer moves to a manicure station. As I observed the procedure, she was rather gruff in handling my elderly mother as she extended her arm's nearly above her head during long periods of time while doing the massage phase of the manicure. When she allegedly finished, she left my mother standing in the middle of the isle having not completed the polish. I questioned this and a clerk of some sort retrieved her and she finished the job, yet poorly. As I was finishing my procedure, I went to the hand washing stand and I was appalled by the lack of cleanliness in that area. Finally, when I went to check out, I requested to speak to Manager regarding the poor service, lack of quality care etc. The male clerk indicated no Manager was available and he did not know the language of the technicians to communicate to them the problem. Another technician took the complaint over and provided minimal service recovery with no apology. While this process was taking place, the technician in mention of the poor service, stood at the counter aggressively speaking in another language to other employee's which seemed rude. I suspected that this technician was not licensed to perform nail services, and when I asked to see her license, she could not provide it. I noticed no one had their licensing hanging anywhere in the shop. hmmmmm. In conclusion, I will be contacting the Ohio Board of Cosmetology regarding this business and the authenticity of it's employee's and ownership.
