Of course I could just say I go here for the convenience, since it is next door to where I work. But I really go for the service. They take excellent care of you at this locally operated salon. Their standards are high and the boutique shows it. You are always offered a beverage while your stylist prepares for you. If you are looking for a new salon this is the one for you. Entire staff is wonderful and friendly. When I get services done here I feel like I am visiting with my friends. Amber is the hair color whisperer. She performed a miracle with my hair yesterday. I changed my mind at the last minute and she made time for the changes and made me look like a million bucks. Lauren also did an amazing job styling my hair. I also get my lashes done my Maari, another amazing talent. Let's just say Thomas does a good job but is always hung over and makes sure you know your bothering him and wasting his time.  Your an afterthought and you will hear about his travels his Wella certifications and how great he is.  His phone matters more than you and  when you color he charges to dry your hair not style but dry and then you get the joy of going home and redoing it so your presentable.  I find them to be more expensive than normal and Thomas needs to learn professional behavior more than brag about how great he is the entire time you sit in his chair.  This was not a one time experience I gave him the benefit of the doubt three times and when he dismissed me the third time.  You can not tip on charge card either yet your expected to tip.  Who carries cash??? How this place is rated so great is beyond me.  Not friendly.I am so impressed with the owner and her desire to have a professional salon that you are treated like you matter. After moving from Raleigh I was in need of a new hair salon! I checked out reviews and some of the stylists Instagram and came across beauty bar. The salon is very hip and the staff are very friendly and accommodating! I had a difficult time trying to book my appointment and the girl on the phone helped me out. I really liked kelsie's style and she happened to have an opening on a day I was free. She did an excellent job! From the cut, to the color, to the vision I had for the look I wanted. I went to b3 to have my hair done for the Marine Corps Ball.  I went with very specific pictures and, to be honest, was not happy about the job that was done by the stylist I was scheduled with.  Unfortunately, I could not stay long enough for it to be fixed so I would not be late for my makeup appointment.  As soon as the owner, Hannah, found out I was unhappy with my hair, she went above and beyond to make it right.  I did not have time to go back to the salon, so she sent a stylist to me at my hotel.  Ramsey was able to make my hair look exactly like I wanted and did a fantastic job in only 15 minutes.  I would have no problem referring friends to b3.  Even if it doesn't turn out like you wanted, they will do everything they can to make it right. Natalie did an AMAZING job on my hair and makeup at my wedding! It was the most beautiful I have looked and felt ever!!! My bridesmaids' hair all looked great! It was so nice to have them travel to where we were getting ready for the day! We were able to lounge around, listen to oldies, and drink mimosas all while getting our hair done! I have spent the past three years bouncing around from salon to salon in Wilmington, and have finally found a place and stylist worth returning to in Thomas Esenbock and Beauty Bar Boutique. Thomas has done an amazing job tastefully lightening my long, dark hair with balayage and adding back the interest and excitement that I was looking for! I was very nervous about going lighter after years with my natural dark brown color, but Thomas added the perfect amount of color in ...just the right tone such that I kept a natural look that was easily lightened when I was ready for the next step. I took a chance and booked a last minute appointment to get my son's hair cut based on the great reviews for this salon and hit the jackpot with Zack!  For the first time ever my son left a hair cut smiling. He's very young but has very specific ideas of how he wants his hair and everyone else we've tried over the last couple of years just gives him a typical boy cut. Zack listened to what he wanted, what his ultimate goal was for his hair (long!) and made great recommendations for how to cut his hair today that will look good while he's growing it out and ultimately get him the length and style he's after. Ramsey rocks my socks!! I love having short hair, but it is tough to find someone who is comfortable cutting longer hair short AND being able to make it what I need and want. Ramsey has short hair herself, so that made me feel comfortable being in her capable hands. The whole experience was fantastic. From the moment I walked in the door to make the appointment until I walked out the door, everything was wonderful! I walked into this salon almost in tears after I had another stylist from a different salon do my hair and makeup before my engagement photos and came out looking like a clown. Being from out of town, we just so happened to spot Beauty Bar Boutique and I went in to see if they could help me. This salon is the real deal.  My fiance and I are from Raleigh and we were in Wilmington for the day to have engagement photos taken.  I walked into this salon after having a terrible experience at a different salon and needed emergency help to fix the clownish hair and makeup job so I would not have to cancel our photo shoot.  The entire staff was super sweet and accommodating to me even though I was a walk in.  Natalie was my hair and makeup artist, and I believe she as well as all the whole b3 team are true artists.  They all had cute hair and pretty makeup so I knew from the moment I walked in I was in good hands.  I came in almost in tears and left with a huge smile on my face and was excited to take photos.  Natalie made me look gorgeous.  I was obsessed with my hair; she looked at a photo of what I was going for and was able to finagle my terrible updo into exactly what I had imagined.  Then she took off my mimi from the drew carey show makeup and expertly applied makeup and accentuated my features perfectly.  I left the salon so happy and literally could not stop looking at myself all the way to the photo shoot location.  Chelle was able to book Natalie to do my hair and makeup for my wedding even though she was already booked that day.  The entire staff was so sweet and they were checking on me and being super supportive.  I really cannot rave enough.  I love b3 salon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This salon offers everything I need, and at a tolerable price.  My haircuts with Amber Lee are always what I've asked for.  I had a nice pedicure there one time.  The prices are not posted, so i'm always wondering what I'll be charged, but they tend to be on par with other upscale salons in town.  You cannot tip on your credit card, so bring some cash.
