I have had good experiences here getting my nails done and my eyebrows waxed. However the last time I went, the eyebrow person completely messed up my eyebrows. She made them far too thin (about half their original width!) and they are different shapes. Obviously the only thing to do is grow them out. She still charged me $10. I will not be coming back here. Had my first gel mani and pedi at Lotus today and loved it!!!! They had been recommended several times and just about the only salon in the area that I had not tried....-Charlie and Linda were awesome ..... the ONLY salon in the area that I’ve been to that uses a NEW ‘pedicure pumice kit’ for each client and gives it to you when they are finished with your nails for the ultimate in sanitized care.....the kit includes a nail file, buffer, pumice and pusher....the salon was clean and comfortable and full of great polish colors.... I'm not on to write a review but this experience definitely warranted a review. My mom asked for a polish change and go the gel nail polish. She was not told it was going to cost $30 for just a polish change on her toes ... NO PEDI, just polish change!!!! When the gentlemen at the counter told my mom the total it was expensive but my mom didn't argue. A woman came back and said it was going to be $10 more ... so my mom said, "$30?" For a polish change?? The woman said yes m...y mom told her she wouldn't have gotten her polished changed for $30. The lady responded w the tech should have told you. Well... NOT my moms fault. She didn't know. When I told the woman good customer service would be to give it to her for $20 and next time tell her she said no. My mom told her she will NEVER go back again! So I hate being the person that leaves nasty reviews (if you look on my previous posts I have left dozens of good reviews for local business) so I do apologize but I also don't want anyone to have to repeat my experience. I went to Lotus nails (next to Javas brewing) to get my eyebrows done and the technician reused the stick the whole way through... like double dipped it back into the communal wax pot after it had touched my face. When I asked her about it she said "the wax... is hot enough to kill any bacteria" (which I assure you is not the case) I then asked the lady at the front desk who said "no,she wouldn't do that" matter of factly. I don't normally complain, but unhygienic practices are the quickest way to spread infections. I am so grossed out right now. Will not be returning. I really wanted to like this place, it has great reviews and the location is really nice. Unfortunately I had a terrible experience today. My nails look NOTHING like the pictures I showed them, I was cut to blood with a file and they didn't listen at all when I asked to please, please stop put acrylic powder and chemicals on the cut because it stings like fire. They proceeded to do it anyway, looking very upset and rude.They charged me the full amount. I will not be back. THIS particular nail salon FOCUSES on the DETAILS, it definitely stands out amongst the competitors in Waxhaw and neighboring cities. Here is a few examples as to why they are leading the way...-They offer their patrons wine or a cold beverage :) -One picks out their own lotion scent and their are many scents to choose from, I recommend the green tea or the lavender. -They offer Butter for a $3 dollar charge, I LOVE this line for it's durability & luster! #worthy -The proprietors are on top of their customer service and it shows. I had a not so great experience a few weeks ago, I communicated what occurred and they listened and ensured my granddaughter and I had a phenomenal experience this time around. Things will always go wrong somewhere (life was NOT intended to be perfect, hence people are not robots) as long as they are corrected all is good! I wanted to thank the nail technicians that made our day ...service awards go toooo Linda & Lam, their customer service and hospitality went ABOVE & BEYOND! Neither my girlfriend nor I had ever had a pedicure before, but we opted for the spa pedicures and we were treated like royalty! Marie and Kevin did excellent jobs, and the gentleman whom I assumed was the manager was very hospitable and accommodating. The building was spacious and clean, and it really felt like a spa. Everything was great up until the polish ( I mostly go get a Pedi for the leg and foot rub) which looked pretty crappy with paint on my hand. I mean really bad.... my daughter's was even worse. They said hers was dry and it was basically ruined 10 minutes after we left. We definitely felt rushed at the beginning and end. Won't go back. Read Less

The look I say 4.5stars as this place is SUPER Cheque and extremely appealing. When it comes to the service and the way you are rushed around I have to say 2.5 stars because let's be clear NO ONE want to be rushed around when going to get a relaxing mani and pedi. The approach should be different at the front desk, I think they should ask "are you in a hurry or are you here to relax" or they should offer a DUAL mani and pedi for the person on the go.I've been twice now and my 2nd visit was better than my first as I made an appointment with Lein for a mani and pedi. Of course upon my arrival the manager says "you should let Anne do you pedicure then Lein will do manicure". I wanted to relax and chill so of course I just ran with it. I'm glad I did as I enjoyed my pedicure by Anne she is the youngest person in this place and if you look at first glance you'd think she was too young to do a good job BUT never judge a book AT ALL by its cover its seams it size it's NOTHING because when I tell you she put in WORK on Momma feet I mean it. The massage had me falling to sleep once I got to the manicure chair. I was almost fast asleep getting my manicure seriously. Lein did a good job on my gelish manicure and she was very fast and detailed at the same time.I'll be back soon, I'm loyal to my Cachet crew near Uptown as I like my one nail classy design with gel polish that my tech there does. This place need more staff and some knowledgable staff in design and such.I do like the fresh limes used on the toes and on the nails it's a FRESH & interesting approach.
