Not thrilled with my experience. I expected to wait since I was a walk in but I had my feet in cold water for over an hour. No acknowledgement, no drink offered...again I don’t mind waiting or coming back when less busy but that needs to be communicated. The service on my feet and nails were also sub-par. I came to this nail spa as I had a gift certificate expired at the end of this month. When I first visited this spa a couple of months ago, it was a grand opening for a new management. The first time experience was okay. But this time, I got disappointed. At first one lady started my pedi then the other lady took it over. I don't like the change of technician in the middle of the care. I didn't want any nail polish work to be done, just wanted to be trimmed and groomed. So I explained the lady to focus on trimming and cuticle removal part. Seems like she didn't understand and asked the color I chose. I was not satisfied her work either. Cuticle removal was not done well. Meeting a good technician is one of the lucks! Otherwise, you can't help trying several ones and figure it out. Very nice vibe upon walking in. They have very cute wing back chairs and a glass table with all different scented lotions for you to try as you decide what color your going to get. I noticed that they have tons of colors along with a lot of gel colors too. I got a full set of acrylic nails and being that I bite my nails, I didn't have much to work with. Worse experience ever! I went there around Christmas time and thought it was ok and decided to give it another shot. My pedicure and nails took 2 and a half hours not because they were taking there time but because they didn’t know what they were doing. I’ve also been getting SNS on my nails done for a couple years now so I’m fully aware of how it’s done and mine was not done appropriately. You can still see my natural white tip under the color and there is hair on top of the... polish. I confronted the nail-tech mannerly and he continued. The customer service when speaking to the owner was awful. He did not care and made excuses for his employee when the other co-workers agreed with me. Still charged me the full amount. I told them good luck with the business and I’d go elsewhere next time. I rarely ever write reviews but I am so livid. I felt the need to express my opinion for this business. The lady who did my toes was amazing!!! Didn't catch her name! However: it's old and dirty, towels smelled like mildew, flies, just didn't feel sanitary! Extremely disappointed........ horrible service. After waiting 45 minutes, the man that did my nails was rude and rough. I asked to keep my long nail and  just to square the edges. He completely filed them down to the point of hitting my skin. The gel color I picked didn't match the color on my nail. I asked to speak to a manger and she told me she would have to remove my gel to give me money back........what??????? Not right. My fingers are still burning from the length of times they left the cuticle remover on my skin. My pedicurist skipped steps on one foot during my pedicure. There were only three employees in there and 15 to 20 chairs and tables for manicures and pedicures. It didn't seem to be very clean other customers were offered a beverage and others weren't. Went in for a quick gel polish change and a polish change for my toes and given the location I was expecting nothing but a great experience. I was so wrong. Fortunately the price was inexpensive but I sure got what I paid for. About every employee in the building worked on my nails because they would do one step and move on to the next customer. It was very rushed and a sloppy finish. My brother came with me and sat through a manicure and his hands were in the warmers for a good 30-40 minutes because the woman working on him just up and left him. The pedicure was aggressive and the filing hurt my fingers. Extremely unhappy and I should have read the reviews before walking in there. Now that I'm reading them, I fully understand. About a week ago I walked into iconic nails to get my nails done. In the beginning it was great they were so sweet but as soon as the lady started my nails everything went wrong. She placed the tips on her nails and started to cut them with a rusty nail clipper. I showed her a picture of how I wanted them and she proceed to cut them to short. I told her and she kept going not even fixing her mistake. I asked for coffin shaped nails and she proceed to cut half of them round and half coffin. She originally told me it would be 36 but she knew she did bad so she dropped the price to 28. Don't ever go here go to Sephora nails in Waxhaw! Read Less

Used to be my go to place for nails and waxing. Not anymore -- have slowly been going there less and less but after today I won't go back. Went to get my brows waxed and it looks as if nothing was done. Not sure exactly what the woman waxed because I still have hairs all underneath my brows and it still looks like I need to get them done even though I just did. Don't recommend. Chau did my manicure and full set. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. He definitely surpassed my expectations after seeing so many negative reviews on Yelp and Google. The gel looks almost perfect! He is very much a perfectionist. He kept going back and forth until my nails were perfect. Most nail techs these days just rush it, especially on the weekends when it's busy. Not Chau though. He was great. The other ladies passing by were very pleasant. Everyone was smi...ling and looked like they were happy. It was a relaxing environment :) The only complaint I do have is the wine haha. They gave me that arbor mist crap. It's actually not wine....it's almost like a spritzer with juice mixed in. I mentioned to him that it didn't taste nice and he insisted that it was white wine. This joint is quite large. I was very surprised because the storefront seemed rather small. However I visited the spa on a Thursday night and only three employees were working, although they had about 15 nail tables. If in Waxhaw, I would suggest visiting Sephora nails as they are cheaper-however you almost always need a reservation. I visited this location because it was an hour wait at Sephora and I was crunched for time. The owner, "Bob" did my nails. He told me he was from Vietnam but has been in the states for over twenty years. I was impressed by the fact the location seemed very clean. Bob did a great job with taking fog my full set but I was a little disappointed with feeling rushed choosing a color for my shellac. I would say their prices are average, they do an average job, however I do like the fact it seems they welcome walk-Ins. I observed many patrons getting their eyebrows waxed and they seemed to do a quick and great job with that. I went in last weekend for a mani/pedi and overall would rate this place 3 stars.  First off, the salon is much larger on the inside than it looks from the outside. I liked the layout and thought it was very clean. I did not have an appointment, but they were able to take me back right away.  They had a nice selection of polish. However, when it comes to the actual service, I would rate the nail tech 3 stars. She did an ok job, but first off, she really pushed the deluxe mani/pedi.  Normally, I just go for basic but I thought why not, I'll splurge this time. (The price for deluxe mani/ped with French Gel mani was $78.).  I don't mind splurging on a "deluxe" service every now and then, but honestly, I felt the nail tech sort of rushed the service, both with my pedi and with the mani.  I will give them another shot, but next time, I will stick with basic service instead of deluxe service. Came here many times for pedicures and sometimes a gel manicure. Lisa does an excellent job on my nails. She is a professional nail technician. Clean environment. Prices are in line with the area and this shopping center. It's close to home, so that's a great s for me. Sometimes the male, owner I guess, pitches add ons to increase the price of services or rushes the clients to make up their mind about the kind of service and to pick out a color. He's annoying! The workers get pressed by him, which is unfair to the customer. So I can see where other comments have came from.Overall, good, clean operation. Just ignore the owner! Read Less

Of course, like anywhere, if they are busy you may have to wait a little or the service may not be as long as you hoped, but there are a lot of positives. This was a very negative experience for me, in fact, it was the worst pedicure I've ever received!  I was a first time customer to this spa, and right away, my experience was not a good one. As I was picking out a polish color, I felt rushed as the woman stood two feet away from me impatiently awaiting my decision.  Later, at the chair, the woman did a poor job of exfoliating my feet and of polishing my toes. There was nail polish on the cuticle/skin around my toes and noticeably calloused feet which had not been properly treated. At the conclusion of my pedicure, I specifically addressed the manager, and she brushed me off completely with no interest in amending the situation! With in one minute of entering I was asked 3 times to pick a color. Mind you this was my first visit and I was reading the services offered and prices. My manicurist rushed so much the acrylic on my nail wasn't dried before she started filing. Making my polish bubble. I'm guessing she figured I wouldn't notice since it was on my toe. But I did, and I actually thought it was poor polish. Needless to say it wasn't. Another lady had to buff my nail down and told me the reason why it bubbled. My manicurist was the most unfriendliest person I've ever had, and her English was so broken I never understood a word she said. She asked me to go to the dryer as she walked by. I hope the other service providers in this salon over shadow this particular lady and I also hope they have a large and loyal cliental base. Not so Iconic! Way over priced for less than an average service. They charge $2 per nail for removing gels plus $25 for the new polish. Never had anyone charge for this. Made an appointment for a pedicure, which started and HOUR late -  left two hours later than my appointment!     Had to wait for someone with more experience to finish my feet and check my "corners" on my big toes.   Only to be told by the more experianced person  " you have no corners, see"  - REALLY????  Because I not only can see them, but I feel them.  Thanks but no thanks.  I'll go somewhere else where they take their time, are thorough and respect other peoples time as well! I have been to Iconic Nails two times before I went today. I went today as a last resort. The two other I have been were absolutely terrible. They were rough with my fingers and cut my fingers when the were sanding them down. They left air bubbles in the gels and my tips were not even. The woman looked at the air bubbles, "tried" to fix it with a nail file, then proceeded to act like she never saw it in the first place. Today was no different. I had to wait for a while. When the man started to sand my nails, he was not very gentle. He even chipped my nail beds with the sander. I picked a color for my tips and when he put it on, it looked absolutely terrible. After only two nails I asked if it would lighten up to look more like the powder in the jar. He said, "I don't know." Then he asked if I wanted to change the color and I asked if that was alright. He said it was but not before sighing very heavily and acting very put out. I had chosen a purple color that turned very dark when it got wet. He "tried" to get it off my nails but didn't get it off all the way. I had to choose black because that was the only color that could cover up what was still on my nails. I was NOT happy about this at all. He redid the colored tips and did a terrible job. The colored tips varied from nail to nail in size; there was no consistency. One of my thumb nails was filed to a square tip but my other thumb nail was filed round. The black color bled into my nail bed and around my cuticles and he did nothing to fix this. You could see the places in my nail bed where he had chipped them when he sanded them even after putting the gel my nails. When I look at the ends of my nails, they are not even. Some of the gel was thinner on one side of the nail then the other. While I was washing my hands, another woman was very annoyed and asked she was going to have to wait thirty more minutes before they ever got to her. As I was walking out, I kept finding parts of my nail that he had filed off still connected to my nails and under my nails. Overall, this was a terrible experience and I will never go back. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. The utensils are sterilized in a machine between clients. I watched them unscrew the drain in the tub to clean after a pedicure. The pedicure itself was very nice and the chairs are very comforting. I highly recommend. Read Less
