Updated Review: I was ultimately unhappy with my haircut (I showed a picture of a prior haircut I loved and the end result was nothing like the picture WAY TOO SHORT and no layers), and called the very next business day, was scheduled for the next day. I was very nervous. Had some layers put in and the haircut was much more acceptable, but still too short - I go to check out - and was charged FULL PRICE. This place is horribly over priced. I went in for a simple haircut (layers and a trim of my bangs), and I even showed her pictures of what I wanted, but instead I received a cut that I probably could have done myself. My bangs were cut shorter than what I had asked, which was resting on my eyebrows, and no one could tell I had layers because there were few if not any. In addition, I left with product in my hair that made it looked as if I had just rolled out of bed. I had asked for no wash because I had just washed my hair the day before, and so she sprayed my hair with water for the cut like I asked, but when I went back to voice my dissatisfaction, I received the excuse that the cut did not turn out right because I did not receive "the full treatment" which consisted of a wash. I do not know if they use some sort of magic shampoo that makes them cut hair better, but what I do know is that a decent hair stylist should be able to cut wet hair regardless of the type of shampoo used. They also kept trying to get me to let them fix it by chopping more of it and washing it, but I declined because the fact that they blamed their screw up on a wash is ridiculous. I do NOT recommend this place, so save your money and look elsewhere. My advice is that you choose to cut your own hair before deciding on Salon Serenity Spa. Read Less

I had the pleasure of experiencing the Belvia Escape spa package today as a birthday gift from my husband. It was truly amazing. The package inclued a massage, facial, manicure, and a pedicure. What a great experience! I had not had my hair professionally done in years. As I have gotten older, I have been experiencing many sensitivities and was apprehensive. I had been using box coloring which was making my hair look worse. After a color consultation with Renee and doing a patch test, she recommended a great natural Wella product. I cannot say enough about my excellent experience at Salon Serenity Spa today. This was my first real haircut since my hair started growing back after undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. The new growth was a kinky, curly mess. It was also a very course texture. Renee explained that it was a chemical burn from the chemo. Salon Serenity & Spa lives up to its name! I enjoyed a relaxing pedicure with Rebecca, in a private room, where I didn't feel like I was being rushed out the door. She did a wonderful job, took her time and was genuinely interested in making sure I was pleased with the results. The first time I visited the spa was to get a full body airbrush tan for my wedding day. Staff was very welcoming upon my arrival. The process was quick and simple and my tan was absolutely beautiful. My clothing of choice was not quite loose enough for the drive home so the staff kindly let me borrow a robe. The second time I went was only for an upper body airbrush tan. I unfortunately missed my scheduled appointment, once I called them to apologize they were able to reschedule me for that same day. I just moved to the area a few months ago, and I've been looking for a new spa. I have definitely found it! I had the BEST experience today. The staff was so friendly, and gave me a tour when I first got there. They literally have it all! My nail technician for the past 15 years (Jennifer) recently started working at Salon Serenity and Spa in Wake Forest. Although it is close to an hour drive for me to travel to see Jennifer at her new location, it is well worth it. I have lived in NC since 1994 and Jennifer is by far the very BEST nail tech in this area!! I am currently employed at a salon/spa in Cary and can receive FREE nail services as one of my employment perks, however, I choose to drive close to an an hour AND pay full price to see Jennifer...if that doesn't prove how fantastic she is, then I don't know what else I can say. In addition, Salon Serenity and Spa is a wonderful place...the owner and her entire staff are VERY friendly and the salon/spa is incredibly clean and BEAUTIFUL!! I went to Heather for a haircut and she did a great job! I wanted to go much shorter and was nervous about trying someone new, so I took several pictures with me to see what she thought. After searching for a salon for many years, I stumbled upon Serenity and was skeptical because of not wanting to be disappointed, yet again, in my hair. But I made an appointment with hopes of possibly finding my salon home. I first came in and was instantly greeted by a sweet warm smile by the receptionist, Ryann. She then showed me around the whole entire salon, which is very kept up and clean. When it was my appointment time. Renee came and got me and sat down with me and listened to what I wanted done with my hair and she really listened and then her and I made a plan and she went to work. She also gave me specific tips on how to manage my type hair. Which is very thick and coarse. After it was done my expectations were blown away! My hair is beautiful, the color, cut and the feeling of it is soft and silky. Renee listened intently as I explained what had worked and not worked with my hair in the past.. While shampooing, cutting and styling my hair, Renee explained the products she would be using. I was very pleased and look forward to my next appointment with her. I also had a spray tan with Caitlyn. Caitlyn makes you fell comfortable during the tanning process. This salon is really nice. The staff are great, nice and they work together. However, they did not give me the hair color i asked for. I went in for a consultation, and gave two pictures of the color i wanted. I wanted a dark root and have it ombre to an ash blonde. My expectations were that it would be more blonde than brown. During the consultation they told me that they could do it, and it would take 3 to 3.5 hours. I was excited and booked my appointment for the next day. I come in for my appointment, and the first thing that was done was they dyed my entire hair dark brown. From root to end, dark brown. I was told it was easier to weave the blonde in (even though i already had blonde at the ends that they covered up with the brown). After the stylist started weaving in blonde doing 'baby lights', the owner walked in the room and started getting on the stylist because they shouldnt have done the brown all over. First mistake- because of the way the owner got onto the stylist, and the look on her face, i started getting nervous that my hair was ruined.... i think i knew from that point I wasnt going to get the pretty color I asked for. The owner told me that it would take just a little longer than the 3 hours. (Im expecting maybe anothee hour)....  Second mistake. I was quoted 3 to 3.5 hours it would take ..   i was there for 6 and a half hours!! And I didnt end with the color i was expecting. At the end if the 6th hour, they asked me if i liked it... and I was honest. I do like the color, and they did a good job... but i didnt speak up and say that it wasnt what i wanted/asked for. Mainly i didnt speak up because i had already wasted my whole day there, and i just wanted to go home . .. i cried that night after i got home, because I spent $245 for it not to be what i asked for. Now, most of my review is negative, but there are positives. Renee, the owner is not going to let you leave with bad hair, my hair does look pretty.
