With new owners, they re-did the shop. New paint, new tables, and new pedicure chairs. The shop looks wayyy better than before. Before it was outdated with clunky looking tables, paint color was old, and pedicure chairs worn out. The owners are nice and their services are great. They are greatly skilled and fast. I've been looking for a new nail salon and nail technician for a couple months now. Well I can finally say that I have found my new salon, and I have found David!David is wonderful, he listens to what you want, and is very meticulous when he does your nails. I do acrylic overlay with a gel polish.Pricing is extremely reasonable and the salon is clean. Actually I was sent home with my own nail file and buffer so that it is only used on myself and no one else. I experienced this once before when I lived in Maryland. This tells me that this salon cares about its clientele and cleanliness.I came in for my second visit, and David was on vacation. I booked an appointment with his mother who is absolutely fabulous. She did a wonderful job and I'm very pleased. I will be returning to David as he is my favorite. I used to go here often. I scheduled an appointment today for me and a friend so we get there and get our pedicure's done and we always get a design well they only have one person that can do designs and was told we had to wait 20 minutes because she was finishing up with a customer so we agreed to wait to only be told about 10 minutes later that she didn't want to do the design because it was late um excuse me but we made appointments and was asked to wait to only be told no. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE. I'm all about customer service. I work in the customer service industry. A happy customer is a return customer and I was not at all happy with my finished nails. The lady doing them seemed very upset that I was asking for 3 colors. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my nails (ombré) and she told me they couldn't do that, that was a mood change. Whatever that means. So I changed my colors, 2 colors this time and she didn't give me the right one. She kept insisting on the colors, the length and the shape of my nails. By this point I was fed up with the lady. I'm not one to make a scene or complain so I let her finish. She rushed through the design on 2 nails and charged me $5 more dollars for getting a basic line design. Not happy that I paid $55 for a half ass job that took over an hour. One more thing, I did not hear a single word from this lady other than the insisting and the price. Great pedicure at Amy Nails on Rogers Road.  I didn't have an appointment, but my wait was minimal.  I have never had a tech pay so much attention to my cuticles and the softness of my feet.  I didn't get his name, young guy with glasses.  Excellent work!!! Read Less

Had a gel manicure and it was great! The staff was very friendly, the place seemed clean, and they were busy when I walked in but I was seen right away. My nail tech was very sweet. Great experience at Amy Nails! Visiting from out of town and made an appointment for 3 people, showed up with 5 for manicure/pedicures and they were able to accommodate with no problem. Staff was friendly and interactive. My grandmother who has been there several times before received special treatment and the owner was sure to give her a superior pedicure. I just had a pedicure and a gel manicure. I was able to walk right in and didn't have to wait at all to sit in the pedicure chair.  I loved my nails, the staff was super friendly. I gave 4 stars instead of five because it seemed to take a little longer than I was comfortable with but that could be just me as I work in NYC & am used to speedy mani & pedis. RUDE. So cold, -0 customer service skills.Doesn't deserve your hard-earned money. Too many nail salons to choose from to be either ignored when walking in, treated rudely, (all men working BTW, new trend) and felt like they couldn't care less. Worst customer service skills I've ever experienced and witnessed others being treated.Can't even comment on the skills (I see enough people here have commented on their poor and unsanitary service).I'm not committed enough to give them a chance if I feel unwelcome right at the entrance after two separate tries. Try to give the benefit of the doubt with a 1st visit. Could be a bad employee, no longer working there or perhaps they just had a personal tragedy and couldn't leave it at the door when they came into work. But twice, I think not. Buh-buh for Mwah. Tried Amy's for the first time a few weeks ago. I had an appointment, but they weren't ready for me until over 30 minutes later. Not apologetic about the wait at all. I got gel nails done and it took almost 2 hours (not including the wait time) because the woman kept getting up and walking off. She would go work on other people, answer the phone, and at one point just got up and walked into the back room without a word to me. After she'd been gone for 5 minutes, I got up to look for her but someone stopped me and called her back out. While she worked, I watched the guy working at another station wipe his runny nose about 50 times while he worked on another girl. Disgusting.My nails looked nice, but chipped at the tops after a few days, which didn't happen (ever) with my last salon.Should have learned my lesson, but made another appointment last weekend to give them a second try. I live closeby and really wanted it to work. Thought I'd just use a different person and hopefully have a better outcome. Made an appointment for 4:30. Got there at 4:25, signed in, waited. Someone came over and asked if I had an appointment and confirmed it in their appointment book. Kept waiting. Finally, at 4:45, the older woman came over and told me I DIDN'T have an appointment. I hadn't talked to her at all, so I'm not sure when they decided they were too busy for me, but she insisted I did not have an appointment. I told her when I'd called, what was said, that I'd made the appointment for 4:30, that I'd confirmed with that guy over there who checked the book, etc.She then said they were too busy for me either way and they could take me in an hour. Very disappointed with this salon. Not at all as described on their website!  Did not appear clean, did not provide individual tools for each customer, did not offer even a glass of water, let alone soda or coffee.  One of the workers was sitting at a pedicure station asleep with her bare feet on the soaking tub.  No attempt at communication between worker and customer. Wow. So, we all know i'm the crazy, anxiety chick that is a TOTAL germaphobe. It is truly due to all the 20/20 episodes I watch. One time, I went with a friend to an Aveda salon, and they would not even let her put her foot in anything b/c she had fungus.  I knew right then and there that A - it is super contagious and B- the nice salons don't  even allow the dreaded F word into their spa baths!I went to Amy's for a manicure, thinking well, at least all the tools were metal and they have a higher chance at being sanitized. I left there with 3 of my fingers bleeding from where they cut my cuticles.NEVER again. I have learned the lesson of "you get what you pay for" and man oh man ... I am never going back there again. I've been here a few times in the past, maybe once or twice a year, but went again last week since I was in the area and needed some nail loving.I don't get it....people I talk to love this place. I always walk out feeling like either I have missed something, or like Elaine from Seinfeld when she is all paranoid that they are talking about her. I totally get that when I am here.I walk in and they are limited with the latest colors. I LOVE OPI colors and stay ahead of what has recently come out and been released. This place didn't even have the colors that have been released in the last 6 months. Even this, I can get over. The part that I did not like was that the guy who was doing my nails actually hurt my fingers. He squeezed them really hard and was filing so straight that it started burning my skin around my nails. :( not fun!  The other part I did not like was that there was an older woman beside me also getting her nails done and the guy doing her nails was being really rude to her and when she would ask questions or complaint that he was hurting her, he would look up, laugh, and then speak in another language to my nail guy and they both laughed. I felt so bad for the lady that I just started chatting it up with her.I think I have learned my lesson this time and won't try it again. Read Less

I've been there many times to have my gel nails filled by David and he is very good so I definitely recommend him, but the pedicures my daughter and I had the other day were terrible. It was a Friday afternoon so they were busy and the guy that did my pedicure repeatedly got up and tended to other clients the entire time. He skimped big time because he obviously didn't have time for my appointment. This is why I've given them three stars. The client shouldn't have to wait while the technician answers phones and checks other clients out. If you're truly that busy on a Friday afternoon, then hire a receptionist. Read Less

I had shellac with french tips put on my nails on a Saturday but on Wednesday it was peeling off (it's supposed to last 2 weeks). So I called the manager and he said they would replace it. I was very thankful they had offered to redo it and took full advantage of their gesture. However, 3 days later the shellac was peeling off again. Their product is faulty and the service is hardly any better. They are not very friendly and they talk (complain) about other customers to one another. They were extremely unorganized and unprofessional. I will not be visiting Amy's again. I went to Amy's since it's convenient to my house and seemed less busy than other salons in Raleigh. The staff is very friendly and I love my new gel nails. I had David and he was very good, it didn't hurt at all. The shop is very clean, pleasant decor and has a grade A rating. I didn't have an appointment or anything and only had to wait about 10 minutes. I highly recommend if you're looking for a great place to get manis/pedis or artificial nail enhancements that aren't cheap and done by poor technicians. Go to amy's! Read Less
