I had recently relocated to North Carolina and was in desperate need of a pedicure.  I was used to going to very nice, modern Beauty Salons that offered manicures and pedicures in very comfortable settings, but always and ONLY performed by women.  Well, I tried extremely hard to find similar salons here in our area of NC, but to my utter dismay, I found out "such" salons do NOT exist in this Crystal Coast area, and I think whoever reads my review will acknowledge this is an unequivocal fact and they will know exactly what I'm talking about!Soo ... I "yelped" nail salons near me, and as Tracy's was located only a 10 minute drive away, and her reviews seemed pretty good, I decided to give it a try.  I had wanted Tracy but she was not available, so I agreed to have someone else do my pedicure.  I don't remember the young lady's name, but she was thin, early twenties or so, long black hair pulled back.  I had a feeling right away this was NOT going to be a pleasant experience as soon as she began cutting my nails.  BTW, the few folks that worked there, both women and men, spoke a very broken, heavily accented English, as did the young lady who did my pedicure.   She looked annoyed from the start, because I could barely understand her English and had to ask her to repeat what she said. That clearly  irritated her, because then she really developed a major attitude!  She held my feet very tightly, and would press them down very hard onto that little stool, and when they would not stay down as she wanted them to, she would literally grab them and shove them down with force.  But the worst part was when she began  scrubbing my nails and the back of my feet.  She scrubbed them with a vengeance, as though she was scrubbing a filthy pot and couldn't get the ground-in dirt off!  My skin was so irritated that it was turning a painful red!    I honestly thought she was going to rip my nails and skin off my feet!!!  I also did NOT like the way she massaged my legs, again she was very forceful, very rough and it was very uncomfortable and very unpleasant.WORST pedicure of my life!!!  I will NEVER return to Tracy's!!!I miss my salons up North!!! The location and employees were fairly nice. The manicure was horrible. I waited for 20 minutes drying it at the location and was very careful not to touch it after. I was packing for my trip 5 hours after the manicure and was getting dings in the paint from packing clothing. I will never go back. Better to have no manicure than one that looks that horrible. Tracy's is a nice, clean nail salon with cordial employees. They don't bring their instruments out on a sealed. They ate fast bit so a nice job on pedicures. I'll keep shopping around for a truly sterile nail salon. Read Less

7 yrs ago, I moved to the area and tried a few salons (with disappointing results) before hearing folks rave about Tracy Nails. It was clear from my first visit this was the place for me. After 19 yrs of experience with getting gel nails, Tracy is the very best nail tech I've ever met. Tracy, Joe and their staff strive to make sure all customers receive the best service. I've been regularly visiting Tracy's Nails for 8 years to have my nails, pedicures and brow waxing done and have never been disappointed. My sister in law and I went here on 6/2/16 and I had a terrible pedicure experience. My nail tech was a gentleman in his fifties. The only thing he said to me to start with was whether the water was too hot (it was) and if I wanted me nails cut (yes, please). He didn't ask which pedicure I wanted or what color polish I wanted but just started trimming. He did a great job clipping the nails & began applying an oil to my legs. I asked if I could have the milk & honey pedicure and that's when things went wrong.He got testy with me, insisting he had already started the basic and I couldn't change now. My sister in law asked if he could just wash the oil off and do the sugar scrub. Her nail tech said something to my tech in Vietnamese and he finally agreed to rinse the oil and do the scrub. With the sugar, he began doing a very strong massage which felt wonderful until my skin started to feel raw and turn red. Uncomfortable, I asked if he would rub more gently. He said he would not because other customers would complain if he gave them a soft massage and he wanted his customers to be happy (was I not a customer, too?) He continued rubbing hard and hurting my skin so I asked if he had any lotion he could use for the massage instead. He got mad and said my skin was red because I had shaved my legs and it was my fault my skin was red. Then he shouted, "You understand?!" several times which caused many other customers to stare at us. It was pretty embarrassing and I politely asked if he would just stop the massage and do the hot stones. He said he didn't think I should have that because I had shaved my legs and he knew what I wanted better than I did. I insisted if he let the stones cool just a little and only used them on my feet (which I had NOT shaved) I'd be ok. He did relent and do the stones but what an ordeal! He also told me the paraffin would be too hot for me because I had shaved. Again I asked if he would just let the paraffin cool for a few more seconds it would be fine. When he finished that he asked where my polish was. I said I wanted my nails to be buffed, not polished. He got irate with me again insisting I should have told him this in the beginning. Annoyed, I told him I was sorry I had ruined everything and he huffed away to get the buffer.Although the nails themselves looked great when he was done, he was so rude and degrading to me that I honestly considered leaving without paying. The only reason I tolerated this service was because my sister in law was enjoying her pedicure and her tech seemed very nice. Since I was treating us both to pedicures, I did not want her tech to lose payment.This salon was average as far as the amenities, the treatments were average and depending upon which tech you get, your experience may be horrible. For God's sake do not shave your legs or you will get the dressing down of your lifetime from this man! Read Less

The establishment itself is very nice and clean. Staff is pleasant. However, both times I went my gel manicure either chipped or peeled off before it was time for my next visit. I will be going somewhere else in the future. Read Less

Tracy does a great job. I have been doing my (gel)nails for many years now in different places but this is by far my favorite. Quick but with a good quality. Been there twice now and even after five weeks it looked great (of course needed refill). Will keep going back there! Read Less

Got a pedicure, eyebrow wax, and my nails filled. Both the employees who worked on me did very good and took their time. The foot and leg massage was good and the chair was nice. My only complaint is that the employees have their children there and they were running around being loud and disruptive. Read Less

Tracy has been doing my nails for 10 years. She's professional and personable. Will do all she can to fit you in without an appointment.  It's worth the trip from the beach, Morehead City or Jacksonville. They do a great leg and foot massage with scrub and hot towels. I checked on my IPhone "what is the best nail salon near me?" And Tracy's Nails came up. So I decided to visit and even though they looked busy I still was able to get my nails filled within 10 min. Of walking in without an appointment. Larry, my nail expert , did a very nice job on my nails! In my opinion Tracy's nails of Swansboro is worth the trip. Read Less
