I promise it’s not like me to leave a crappy review for somewhere but..
If your someone reading reviews for Q nails in shelby then you probably what to actually know what kind of work they do so I’m here to tell you, I’ll try to be as respectful as I can but I am going to honestly tell you what my experience was.
About two months ago I went to a nail salon (NOT Q NAILS) and got acrylic nails put on and I kept going and getting them filled in and they did an amazing job, well I am ready to have my acrylics removed and the lady that normally does them is out of town so I figured I would just stop into Q nails to get them remove and get a gel polish because I figured the task was simple enough for them to handle (spoiler alert: I was wrong). If anyone has ever gotten acrylics and had them removed you would know that the proper way to remove acrylics involves soaking your nails in acetone and then removing them. I sit down to have my acrylics remove at Q nails and the woman pulls out a fake nail and starts shoving it under my acrylics and popping them off! I don’t know why I countined to let her do this to my nails but I respected her as a nail technician and figured it was a different technique that I simply haven’t seen yet (spoiler alert: I was wrong again). When she was finished removing my acrylics I look at my nails expecting to see the Long natural nails that have been growing under my acrylics for the past two months and instead I look down and see all my nails ripped and jagged, it looked like someone and been chewing on them. I was so upset because my natural nails had grown out to be as long as my acrylics were and I was very excited to have my acrylics removed and have long natural nails. Again I didn’t say anything I figured the gel polish would fix it and it would all look fine (spoiler alert: I was wrong again). I have never had a worse manicure in my entire life, my nails are still very jagged and the polish is nowhere near even. My tip is to NEVER EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO TO Q NAILS FOR ANYTHING! Wait the extra time and pay the extra money at another place. Q nails prices may be lower but you definitely get what you pay for! I hope that none of you made the same mistake I did!

This is not the first nail place I've been to but definitely my go to place. I absolutely love getting my nails done by Tina. First tried SNS with her and not going back to acrylic ever. But you need to make sure you make an appointment or you will wait forever!! Inside is pretty and normally calming. They offer you something to drink & the conversation among customers is generally good.

Horrible ! I went last week and talk about having the worst pedicure ever ! The water was boiling hot she let it overflow, cut me with the nipper tool , and scrubbed my feet for 30 seconds with cuticle oil and a sponge !!!!!!!!!!!! Also my two year old daughter could've painted my toes better! Lastly as I went over to dry my feet they used the same tools from my feet on an older lady without properly cleaning them !

I don't know if it was the man that was doing my nails or the fact that I was getting an overlay but I was not satisfied with Q Nails. I've gotten overlays before and they never looked like I needed a refill right after. The establishment itself was nice and very clean. The staff was also friendly.As dissatisfied as I am, I am going to leave them as is because I need a hardner on my nails to keep them from breaking so it still serves its purpose.

Up front, the wait was really really long. I waited an hour to get a gel Mani. Then the Mani took 45 minutes.
However, it was 2 hours well spent. Linda was really sweet and did a great job on my nails. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she replicated it exactly! My husband texted me when I sent him the picture of what I wanted and he said " it's super cute, but it might be too complicated". Not for Linda.

Been coming here a while. Have had the pedicures, manicures, gel polish, full set, and dipping powder. So far the dipping powder has lasted about 3 weeks before I need a fill. The staff is friendly. ...
Been coming here a while. Have had the pedicures, manicures, gel polish, full set, and dipping powder. So far the dipping powder has lasted about 3 weeks before I need a fill. The staff is friendly. The prices are comparable to most shops around. I think they do a good job compared to some other locations I've been to around Shelby and King's Mountain.

Best pedicure I’ve ever had. The older gentleman is fantastic. Manicure is good, one of the ladies did a great job with my nails but she didn’t do anything extra. No scrub or massage on my hands.

Was in town for the day and treated my cousin to a late bday pedicure. Not impressed!! The guy doing my pedicure was nice- I guess, he didn't talk much. I paid for the deluxe pedicure and ONE DAY LATE...

I paid for the deluxe pedicure and ONE DAY LATER 3 toes have chipped polish! $35 for a pedicure for the next day for it to be ruined? No thank you!!
