The lady that did my pedicure and manicure talked on the phone the WHOLE time I was there and was so rude. I had to ask her to paint my whole nail not just what the brush covered. I Will NOT Be Back. The only reason I gave it Two stars, is because the owners were pleasant, and seemed to know their regular customers on a personal level. The Lady that did my nails was distracted & unprofessional --on the phone & filing with one hand..Not even supporting the other. My polish is uneven & remnants left on my skin. This is the worst visit to a salon I have ever had!!! She spent the whole time on the phone trying to call in other coworkers as if she had somewhere better to be..... then when I went to pay she charged my card and then told me it was declined..my cousin paid her in cash with tip...... went to the bank come to find out they lied and charged me twice!!!! We came here for my sisters wedding to get pedicures and manicures.  Everyone was friendly and very accommodating!!  The place was also very clean.  It is 30 min away from where we are staying...but was totally worth the drive!  I'll definitely be coming back to Star Nails on our next vacation! Finally, a nail salon I can make mine. Having moved to North Myrtle Beach two months ago, I have been trying different nail salons in hopes of finding one I would want to return to. Those that I tried around North Myrtle Beach were some of the worse. I think they are so use to vacationers that they only see once that their professionalism has also gone on vacation. So....I decided to try in Shallotte. It was definitely worth the extra travel.  Star Nails is a family business where they actually take the time to do an EXCELLENT job. I had a pedicure and a gel manicure. And, my husband actually felt comfortable enough to get his first pedicure!  Thank you Tina and Ryan for such a great, relaxing time. I had a pedicure at Star Nails yesterday and couldn't have been more pleased. Ryan spent over an hour turning my toenails into beauties for the sandal season. I went to get a Mani pedi on Friday and they didn't scrub my feet well and left skin around my finger nails also they didn't clean off the nail polish so I had to re fix my nails and toes I wouldn't recomend them to anyone and I have been going to that salon for over 15 years I would just like to know what they will do to correct the problem which I'm sure will be nothing but I'm sorry Read Less

I have never been treated so unprofessionally!!! I had been a regular customer and had made an appointment. Let me also say I had two emergencies (car broke down; Aunt in Intensive Care in another state) back to back but called and explained both in detail prior to each appointment. I was about to catch my flight so I could see my sick Aunt and much to my surprise I was told IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS that my appointment had been cancelled. To add insult to injury I had given Brian my telephone number when I made the appointment. I left that day and did not say anything to Tina because I was not going to sink to her level. Vacationing in NC. Headed to Myrtle Beach but decided to stop in a small town called Shallotte for some pampering. I saw this place on Main Street but I was skeptical as there were no reviews on Yelp. Took my risk and I walked out with full satisfaction! Worth every penny I spent! I got a full set of gel nails and a pedicure and my service was absolutely superb! I conversed with the owner and he and his wife just recently acquired the business. They work hard to provide supreme service and that every client's nails should look healthy and beautiful when they walk out of their salon. I didn't feel rushed as most salons will rush through their services to get more business. He was very meticulous on every single nail.I wish there were more nail salons like this where I live. I am beyond ecstatic that I found this salon! After a disastrous experience, at another local salon, Carol re-did my nails to perfection! Her salon is not a cattle call who rushes one, to unsatisfactory completion, to service another. The former salon refused to correct the extreme crookedness and excess acrylic on my nails and expected me to come back at another time! My biggest "pet peeve" with so many salons is the inadequate sanitation of foot baths between customers. A ...quick scrub with bleach does NOT kill the bacteria lingering from a foot infection of someone else. A ten minute soak is needed for that and her use of, disposable, plastic liners is the best way to assure cleanliness.
