Went in on a whim for a pedicure, and got talked into acrylic nails. First off, the guys thumbnail was long and pointy, and poked me constantly. I said " ow" twice, but apparently "ow" means something else in Asian. Also, he cut the sides of my toenails down unevenly, and I got a painful ingrown nail 5 days later. First time I got to experience that little joy in life. However, I realize accidents happen, so I limped through the toe pain - BUT the acrylic nails from the next guy were a nightmare. I'd never had fake nails, so I just let them go at it. They ground off quite a bit of my fingernail, and then applied the acrylic. Two nails were rather bubbly and bumpy, but he said it would smooth out in a day or two. (note: it didn't happen. Surprise, surprise.) The nails were so thick I couldn't do everyday things like put on necklaces or pick up items from flat surfaces. After 2 weeks, I couldn't handle it (having been informed by everyone how acrylics should be) and went to a salon/spa while on vacation to get them re-done. After serious pain in removing, the lady wouldn't apply new acrylics because I hardly had any nail bed left, and to top off the entire learning experience, a lovely nail fungus. Six months later (keeping nails short and applying protein), my nails were normal, but I still had the nail fungus. The doctor said it could take up to a year to bid farewell to that visitor. EGAD.Maybe I am the only one to get a double whammy there, but I avoid the place like the plague now.I gave them one star because the massaging pedicure chair was nice, and there isn't a red warning star on Yelp* I could highlight.
