A friend and I went here a few years ago and were treated so badly that we just decided to never return. The people were so unfriendly and teetered on rude. The services were subpar for the expense. My daughter purchased a Groupon from a place called gentle hands massage and she gave it to me as a birthday gift. Come to find out it's the same place.  I walk in to the salon to find someone say, Oh, you're here for a massage. Just sit and wait, she's almost finished. 20 minutes(10 past my appointment time) later a woman hands me forms to fill out. I fill the forms out, we go over the questions together. Normal questions, do you take prescription drugs, smoke, points of pain.... so on. I'm taken to a room instructed to disrobe to my comfort and she would return.... I do. I'm on the table for a few minutes and she comes in. She immediately begins coughing and making gagging sounds. She asks again if I am a smoker. I truthfully say yes. She says, you have to reschedule and walked out. I was stunned. I know there are sensitivities to smells and smoking is the worst. (I know) I get dressed, feeling pretty mortified I might add, walk out of the room and she is sitting at the counter. without making eye contact she says, you can get a refund at Groupon. Wow. Just wow. It would have been ok had there been disclosures on the voucher but there weren't. It would have been ok had the appointment not taken several calls to actually get. It would have been ok had the person making the appointment tell me of the allergy along with the necessity to tip. She literally told me 3 times that I needed to bring money to tip with while I made the appointment, yet made no mention of allergies. I just felt bad. I wasted 45 minutes of my Saturday to be made feel like I was worth less than the ash of my dirty cigarette. Read Less

My "go to" nail salon.  Started out here a few years ago then visited other places for comparison.  I'm also on the road a bit, so often get my nails done other places.  Raleigh is higher priced than some other metros (Austin, Atlanta, DC) but when I'm home and need a nail job I go here. The techs are meticulous about the manicure. I've had gels look great going into 3 weeks, the only reason I have to get them redone is because of the gap from the nail growing out. Read Less

I have nothing but positive things to say about this salon. I usually get Shellacque manicure and pedicure and never leave disappointed. They get incredibly busy (especially on the weekends) so making an appointment is a must to ensure you can be seen. There is a very positive, friendly neighborhood vibe and there is always a great conversation going on amongst the salon staff and the customers. I have enjoyed my experience here so much that I have turned my mom and close friends to the salon! The owner, Lisa, is very accommodating and makes you feel welcome. Read Less

I received a gift certificate for North Raleigh Spa for Mother's Day.  I looked online to see what their hours were and noticed they were open on Sunday's!  That's an unusual find for a spa.  They open at 12, I got there about 12:30.  There was already a wait with appointments and walk ins.  I decided to go grab a glass of wine while I wait then they yelled for me to comeback in and that they were ready!  I didn't have to wait at all.  Bonus.  The lady who did my pedicure was super sweet and did a swell job.  They have lots of options for pedicures and manicures.  The massage chairs were newer and worked really well. The space was nice and clean. This will be my go to place for pedicures from now on.  Great location if you live in the hood. Read Less

Went in for a hair cut and waxing.  Thought I was going to get a pixie, but I had been cutting it myself and let a mohawk type cut grow out so there were limited options.  The hair stylist was friendly and explained the options for my hair.    I also wanted something super low maintenance.  Ended up just getting little more than a trim and some shaping, but it looks very nice.Got an eyebrow and lip wax.  I don't get waxed often enough to really judge their work.
