I used to go to this place all the time when I was younger and it was fine, but recently it has gotten way too out of hand. My time at LA Nails started with a two hour wait, where there after I was seated with one of the more older ladies with glasses. I told her I just wanted regular acrylic nails, and she kept going on for at least 20 mins while my nails soaked off about how I needed to get SNS because it is healthier for your nails. After I kept repeatedly telling her I only wanted acrylic. When she started my nails she asked how long I wanted them and I told her I wanted them pretty long because I liked long nails. She then told me that to keep my long tips that I wanted was an extra $5, and also that "long nails don't have a good look for young woman and short nails is the way to go." This pissed me off because I have gotten my nails done a thousand times and never have I had a nail lady speak to me like that, nor have I ever heard of paying $5 for tips and an extra $5 to keep them long. When I kept asking when did that start happening, and she raised her voice at me saying every nail salon does it (which is a lie, most nail places don't charge to keep the tips long). I then asked her the price for my regular shortened acrylic nails, she told me the price of my nails that I was getting (which I only expected it to be like $25-30 max), she said $10 for removing my old nails, $5 for tips, $25 for the acrylic, and $5 for the shape. That all adds to $45, if I had kept my nails long that would have been $50. When she did the shape for my nails, I asked if I could get my nails squared off. She squared up my nails, then rounded the edges (when I asked her not to), she said the past 3 girls that went before me all wanted that shape and that I should too. Which was extremely annoying to me because I could care less about what the past 3 girls got. I wanted long acrylic nails that were squared and I couldn't even get that. I also asked her not to do one of my nails because the whole nail had come off before and it was just starting to grow back. She told me that she thought it would be fine for my nail and put acrylic on it. I believed her since she was a trained nail technician, but I should have listened to my gut and stopped her. I asked her if she thought it would get infected and she said "hope not". Well its been a week since I got my nails done, and that nail that I was worried about did get infected and painfully popped off. Including my entire recently new grown back real nail, gone. Before I left the salon I asked another lady how much my nails would be and she told me $30. Which, again, pissed me off because the lady I had told me $45, so she was trying to get an extra $15 off me. I will never go back to LA Nails and Tan in Oak Ridge ever again because of how awful my last experience there was. Read Less

I really enjoy going here. I always go to Janessa for my nails and she always does a wonderful job! It's nice that I think she knows I'm not overly chatty so she doesn't try and talk much to me haha so I really enjoy just going there to have my nails done I had a terrible experience many years ago getting a pedicure(in oakville) so I've been scared to get another one but I did and it was awesome!!! Ive always liked this place but am unsure if I will return - went for a eyebrow wax and left with one semi-arched eyebrow and one straight eyebrow. I didn’t have the heart to go back and complain - I will simply try and fix them by myself at home.Read Less

I always go here to get my eyebrows waxed because I like the way they do them best. Sadly I just took my last trip to this nail salon. I arrived on a Saturday and they were not busy at all (which I was surprised by). Several employees were waiting around so they met my needs immediately. Despite this, the lady who waxed my brows RUSHED through them and ended up messing up one of my eyebrows. She also didn't even wipe off all of the excess hair from my face, and she missed a few hairs that I later had to pluck. I still tipped her. I get that I'm young so maybe she assumed I wouldn't care or wouldn't tip. I should have just not paid for it but I didn't have the heart. I'm very disappointed and will not be returning. I am rating this 5 stars because my nail tech came to work here from a salon in Winston Salem and she is THE BEST! I used to be 5 min from her. It's 40 min now, but well worth it! Ask for Saran, you will not be disappointed! She does a superb SNS nail! Read Less

I went in today for a pedi, I am 39 weeks pregnant, and very uncomfortable. I had Caitlin, and she was fantastic! My appointment was right on time, and she took her time doing the pedi. we made small talk and she made sure i was as comfortable as i could be! she helped pick out a lovely colour, my feet and toe nails look and feel amazing! I had my shellac appointment for 10am so it was a pretty quiet Wednesday morning. I had Dee as my technician and she was pleasant to small talk with and did a thorough job on my nails. She took off my old shellac and checked in to see what shape I wanted. The whole thing was very efficient and it was actually nice being able to chat just a little and then watch the food network running on the tv. I generally don't have too much to say at salons so that morning was just my speed. My nails look good! I only didnt give 5 stars because there wasn't much of a connection or a supremely welcoming feel to the place so I'll likely use them again but if I happen on another place that offers that sort of welcoming atmosphere, I may go with them instead. I do not recommend this place if you're looking for a relaxing day at the salon. When I got my pedicure here the young girl doing it was very rude and short with me. She also didn't ask if the water temperature was fine or even how I was doing. She then told me the nail color I got would not look good and then picked out the same color I had before on my nails. I went to Liv's December 14th for my birthday. I had an appointment which I showed up 10 minutes early to.. I did not get seen until 435, my appointment was at 415. I sat in the chair waited another 5 minutes before I was seen. I got acrylic nails and the only time I was spoke to was " what shape do you want" and " is this okay" meaning length. It's now 8 days later , two nails are completely off, and my thumb nail just chipped off at the top.. they're very week and flimsy, nothing like I've ever gotten before. This is the worst place! If you make an appointment they don't honor it, this has happened 3 times to me. The man that works there made sure my friends young daughter and I sat our feet in water for an hour and kept sitting other people who got taken care of right away! And the staff is afraid to say anything to him! Shame on you Thai for not taking care of your customers. This is a problem there and has happened to several of my friends. My mom and i went on saturday. My mom got a pedi and i got a mani and pedi. The woman who did mine was great. The women who did my moms was terrible..she rushed through the process. Took a smoke break between exfoliating my moms feer and putting other stuff on her. When her nails were drying she went on her break..my mom sat in the pedi chair for 45 minutes while i had my mani done.. The woman did not take the toilet paper out from my moms feet, did not dry off her feet from the foot bath.. And made rude remarks because we have never gotten a pedi cure before because we always do it at home. My mom had to ask someone else if she was okay to go because when the lady came back from her break she sat at the front desk playing on her cell phone. Absolutly ridiculous. We will never go again. Went to LA nails a couple weeks ago, loved it. Went back this evening and they were super busy, told me it would be long. I waited for 40 minutes and was getting told it wouldn't be much longer every couple minutes. I finally left after not being helped and several people that arrived after me were helped first. I have been to all different nail salons and have found the best.  The pedicures are wonderful with hot towels and fabulous massages.  Their attention to detail is great.  The staff is always very friendly.  They are up to date on all the latest techniques...so when you come be prepared for the best.  The facility has been completely remodeled and is beautiful.  The owners, Heather and Thai are very engaging and create a wonderful setting.  You can't go wrong!  This place is top notch!
