I’m visiting this area for work, and won’t be able to get to my regular nail salon in Charlotte, NC. this Weekend. My nails were in dire need of some therapy. Although I haven’t had good luck in the past with salons I’m not familiar with, I decided to give this one a try after reading the reviews. Today was my first visit to this salon and first gel manicure.  I was happy with the service and the staff. Everyone was friendly.  Their website advertises complementary wine but they did not offer wine or any other drinks.  Not a big deal I didn't care for any.  The problem I had is that five hours later my manicure and pedicure are chipping.  It's not a service worth paying for if it starts chipping the same day.  I enjoyed the staff but won't be doing my nails here. Brought my grandmother to VIP Nails for her first ever Manicure & Pedicure. The salon is clean, modern and well decorated with a great selection of colors. We had Cely and she was wonderful! She was attentive and asked lots of questions to ensure everyone was comfortable. She was friendly and interactive and did a great job on both the moisturizing pedicure and French Manicure. VIP nails is the BEST nail salon I have been too. I've never had a place that I've been so loyal to. I get my pedicures, gel manicure and eyebrow waxing here and I am always happy with the quality of their services. They all do a fantastic job and I love the new decor and setting. I feel like they prioritize their quality, from details like how clean the salon is, how stylish it looks, all the way to the polish that they use. The polish is always fresh and I always feel like the girls take pride in making sure your nails/eyebrows look good. My nails were really well done and the service was super friendly. The person who helped me was really sweet - it seemed like she was a bit new but she delivered good service. VIP has been under new ownership since January 2017. I stopped in after work on a weekday and getting a pedicure was not an issue at all. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. You pick your nail polish color from the plastic palettes in a basket and they match up the number to the OPI and other bottles. The basic pedicure is $27 and there are a few options beyond that. Erica did a fantastic job and got my feet and toes summer-ready. They are located in the Harris Teeter shopping center on Davis Drive next to Viva Mexico. Walk-ins are welcome or appointments. I rarely leave reviews, but always read them before going somewhere so I thought I'd do my part! I came to VIP Nails today for a manicure and pedicure and really enjoyed the experience. First, everything was very clean. They use liners in every pedicure bowl, and get new sterilized/individually wrapped tools which is very important to me. Ive been here multiple times this year and it is my go to place for manicure and pedicure when I want to feel pampered. Cely always does a great job and my gel manicure lasts for a long time. The whole staff is very friendly and attentive and there is usually no waiting time. I was surprised by the negative reviews here but later found out that the salon has been under a new administration since January of this year. If you haven't try it I suggest you ignore the old negative reviews and give this salon a try. Read Less

Friendly staff, but my liquid gel full set (the most I've ever paid, $55), came off after less than a week. They graciously redid the ones that broke (many) however the second round didn't last long either, one flew off three days later when I hit the counter while cooking. Three more came off easily within the week. I called the shop hoping to get a refund or even just have them take off my nails and do something different and the owner insisted that I bit my nails off. He was kind, but was not interested in the possibility that it was anything other than my fault that my nails came off. Would not recommend for liquid gel full set. Read Less

I was visiting the area recently and had a nail crisis. I went to another salon first as a walk in and they rudely told me they couldn't see me today. I went into VIP and they were very busy with 2 ppl waiting but gladly accepted to do my mani/pedi. I then got Cely who did a absolute fabulous job!! What a great place! I will admit, I had not been into VIP nails in a while - mostly because I wasn't getting my nails done as often. I was really surprised when I walked in yesterday and found the salon had been remodeled and looked fantastic. I was greeted by Cely who took care of me and did an outstanding job. I absolutely will not be backup get my nails done. I walked in at 4:30 on a Monday evening. I was greeted by a younger girl and told to have a seat. There was not 1 customer in the place, there was multiple nails stylists sitting around the salon yet, I still had a 10 minute wait. The reason why, the girl was too busy painting her own nails!! After about 5 minutes of waiting she asked if I had picked out a color and I told her yes. She finished painting one hand and took another 5 minutes to let them dry and get he station set up. The first thing she said when she came over to me was that she didn't like the color on her own nails... Then, she looks at my hands and continues to tell me how small my nails are. She asks multiple times if I want to make them longer and I tell her, "no, I would like a gel French manicure". It only gets worse from here.She trimmed my nails, told me how small they were , asked if I bite them, and started on the polish all while she chomped on her gum. I didn't not received a hand massage, futile soak or anything that I had received at other salons for a manicure. Basically I paid $30 for nail polish which clipped off hours after I left. Worst experience I have ever had at a salon. I should've know when the place was empty. AVOID this salon if you want friendly, high-quality customer service. Read Less

I walked into this salon on a whim one day and it was the best decision I could have made! Eric is the owner and he and the front desk person were extremely welcoming and nice! Eric did my nails and he is amazing he talked to me about the product and did a beautiful job on my nails, he is definitely an artist! The location was great and the salon was beautiful! I recently moved to Cary from California, and I was desperate to find a good new nail place. I had gone to the same salon in Cali for 10 years, so there are big shoes to fill. Anyway, I made an appointment for 2:15 on a Saturday, and when I arrived the salon was not too busy. My pedicure was first. I did not catch my technician's name, but she did a very good and thorough job. My feet turned out clean, soft, and pretty. The only bummer is she was unable to do a design on my toes like I always had done at my old place. Next, I had a gel manicure. She did a very good job of cleaning and caring for my nails. She did a good job on the painting itself, except for my pinky nail on my left hand. Part of it was not covered. Luckily, I chose a subtle color and the spot is on the side so it's not very noticeable. The shop was clean, the staff was friendly enough, and I got a decent mani-pedi. I'm convinced I will never find a salon I love as much as my old one in CA, but I enjoyed my experience and will likely be back regularly as long as I'm living in the area. Read Less

I've always gone to Cameron nails and never had a problem - however I live in Morrisville so was hoping to find a place closer to my home rather than work. Heard mixed reviews on VIP but decided to try for myself.Pros:- Staff was super friendly.- They have a very gentle technique of removing the gel color that didn't damage my nails which was nice.- Manicure was done very well - nails looked great shape wise and cuticle wise.Cons:- I went with a light shimmer color. They put 2 coats on one hand and 3 coats on the other, which made my nails 2 different shades! One hand was darker than the other because of this.- The color only last 1 week before it started to chip off. In the year I've done gel color I've never had it last that short.Overall if you're not picky, you'd be fine with a regular manicure. But the short length of the gel color staying on before shipping off was a let down. Will probably still with my normal salon unless I get in a pickle and need to get a quick manicure then I'll come back to VIP. Read Less

First time here as a walk based on yelp reviews and I was not disappointed!Got a regular pedi for $27 and it was definitely worth it.  I didn't feel rushed and the pedi turned out nicely.  He spent a decent time with the massage, as well, which I appreciated.  I would've liked him to apply more pressure, but I think he's more used to American sensitivities when it comes to massages. hahaha...  I'm Asian and I appreciate pressure.    Good hygiene- The entire store appears clean and well laid out.  Everything appeared clean and all the utensils came out of their own bag.  My guy wore latex gloves when working with my feet, except when it came time to paint my nails.  Whether or not that bothers you is probably a matter of personal preference, but I don't mind.  DownsidesI would have liked them to exfoliate/slough off some more of the skin around my heels and the balls of my feet.  He was able to smooth out my feet, but I can still feel some hard skin around my heels.  Or maybe I just need to ask for that as an additional service?The nail colors are on those plastic nail samples, which I don't like.  I'd rather look at the polish in the bottles, but those are all the way in the back.I didn't see any of their prices for their services laid out anywhere in the salon, even on a brochure.   I think that is something they should do.  I don't mind paying good money for good services, but I'd like to know what I'm paying for.  I don't like being surprised with my bill.  I'm not saying they cheated me or anything along those lines.  I would just like the prices laid out and accessible.As a note- I walked in on a Thursday afternoon and it wasn't busy.  This place seems equipped to handle a decent crowd (6 pedicure chairs and I think 8 manicure stations), but I don't know how busy they get at peak times.  But this place is conveniently located, so unless you're going at an odd hour, I would recommend an appointment.Final Answer- Definitely worth it and I would come back! I'm surprised this place has such great reviews! Maybe I just went in on a bad day? Me and 2 other coworkers went in the day before Valentine's Day. We called in before hand so we didn't have a wait at all. The decor was cute and the staff was friendly BUT this was probably the worst manicure/pedicure I've ever gotten. 1 coworker got started with her pedicure before I did and by the time she got to her manicure, my pedicure AND manicure was done! She definitely rushed through mine and barely gave me a proper massage and when I looked over at my coworker, her person was doing all this extra stuff that mine wasn't doing (we both got regular pedicures). Here's the gross part: they used the same scrub block for 2 different people. I know our feet our clean but who knows what the people who came in before us had on their feet, eek!! 2 days later, half my manicure was already gone and you could barely tell I got a pedicure. Major disappointment. I usually go to 55 Nails in Apex and next time, will probably go there instead. Read Less

After being disappointed by the workmanship at several salons, a friend recommended VIP Nails. Her nails looked great and I was confident I would receive the same service. My gel nails look so natural. No bumps! The surface is smooth. As the nail grows out, you don't see or feel a gap between the cuticle and the gel. In additin, the nails don't break and have to be fixed or replaced every week. The prices are reasonable and the service is efficient. About a week ago, I visited VIP Nails for the frst time. I had a manicure, pedicure and eyebrows done. I have to say in my past expeirences with different nail salon's it always a hit or miss that was expected. But VIP Nails, they were able to start and finish everything smooth, no pain and exactly what I wanted :) And what made it even better, is the fact their so friendly, they made sure I had a great experience, which I did. I started going to VIP Nails in Morrisville when a friend recommended them. Eric owns the salon and is an artist and perfectionist. They use products that are safe and non-toxic. The salon does not have the usual nail salon smell. Everyone that works there is friendly and very helpful. I had already been getting my nails done and NONE of those salons have come even close to the quality that Eric is able to consistently offer. My nails never chip, never break, and ALWAYS look great. There is not a week that goes by that I don't get compliment after compliment over Eric's work. The salon is nice and quiet and I almost go to sleep sitting there. Also the prices are great! I recently moved here from Canada where I used to get my nails done at a high end salon (at high end prices). Since moving to Raleigh I have had trouble really finding a salon I felt comfortable in when it came to the skill of technicians, cleanliness, reasonable prices and overall relaxing, friendly feel. VIP Nails has all of that and more! Eric and his family run a beautiful business. He uses only the BEST products at VIP and yet I found I paid LESS for a pink and white gel set than I would have at other salons. Not to mention Eric has won competitions for his amazing skills! No airbrushing, no weird acrylic scraper thing. FREEHAND! That in itself speaks volumes. He listened to my requests and I really, honestly could not be happier. After having 3 nails chipped from another nail salon I decided to try some place new and ran across VIP nails. The moment I walked in I fell in love with the place. I do not even know where to start with what all I enjoyed about this place. First thing is the quiet, tranquil atmosphere. Candles burning, beautiful back ground music playing. It is so relaxing. The nail technicians are so knowledgeable about your nails. I had the pink and whites and Eric did a fantastic job. I have been getting my nails done for over 10 years and this is the first time I could not do anything but smile after he had finished. They are perfect!! I then I got the pedicure. Oh my goodness I now know what Heaven is like....it was so relaxing and I noticed how much care she took while doing the pedicure and when painting the nails. This is the best nail place in the Triangle. You will not regret getting your services here. And believe me you will never go anywhere else!!!
