I went in without an appointment to get a regular manicure and eyebrow wax...It wasn't busy at all and needless to say I was there for 2 hours.  I received my manicure first which took about 30 minutes.  Then I was told to wait for this worker to get my eyebrows done since she was doing someone's manicure..I don't understand why I had to wait for that specific worker.  They don't do such a great job with manicure or with eyebrows.  The place itself looks a bit run down.  Needless to say i won't be coming back here. Used to love this place the family was always very helpful and nice. But I went there the other day to get my nails done because I am getting married tomorrow and I wanted my nails to look good I went in there at 10:20 AM. Did not leave till 1:10 pm. The lady was all by herself and I told her what I needed she said that's fine it's gonna be a little wait is that ok I said yeah that's fine well an hour later I'm still waiting and she's the only person there working, at that point I was started to get a little frustrated so just when I was about to get up and leave the girl tells me she's ready for me ok great well I asked for a design on my big toes she said ok, well you could tell she was in a rush cause once again she was by herself so the design came out terrible but I didn't want to say anything then cause I felt bad for the girl... Well I guess I should've just been rude about it from the get go cause three hours later & 71$ down the hole I have ugly toes & ugly nails. I didn't have time to ask them to re-do since I was in a rush didn't know I was gonna spend three hours of my life there so I just said F-it and left figuring since they are always so nice I'll just call up the next day to ask them nicely to fix it but they were very rude about it saying well sorry ma'am you left the store with it like that we can't do anything except maybe fix the designs on your toes. Meanwhile I've been going to them for years always tip them very well all I wanted was my nails to look nice for my wedding. So 71$ wasted plus the tip! This is the newest and best-kept secret salon for nails in my area! Since we have a home in Mebane, actually in the country, it still only takes about 16 minutes from 54-W, via Mebane Oaks Road, to get there. With my GPS and their own website with a map, K Nails will help you find them! It is located on the bottom floor of a new office-type building, and Lowes Building Supply is within view on the same side of 119. The young lady who greeted me, helped me select the Shellac I like to use now that I am getting away from Pink and White style nails, which they will also do. Then I had a real treat in the brand new custom-oriented massage chairs as I had a professional pedicure with polish that has lasted for 3 weeks. This was done by another lovely young lady who took care and was an excellent friendly, professional , as well. The young man who did my manicure and applied the Shellac, a gel-based polish, was very careful, professional, and also a great conversationalist should you care to talk. Everyone here was like this, and would respect your needs and privacy, including keeping the atmosphere nice and quiet or talkative, with a mounted wall screen with interesting things to watch, not just the typical channels on cable that can be irritating in other places. I had great conversations around our travels that we had experienced, and found that he knew very much about areas I had barely grazed when I visited them. I give it 5 stars, and am going back today. It was recommended to me by locals, from this area, but not many have found it yet! Call them and give a time, if possible. Also keep a Waze or GPS on if you are nervous about directions, but it is actually very simple once you have found them! I have been to nail salons all over Mebane and I keep coming back here because they consistently do a good job. I get an acrylic set put on and sometimes a pedicure) and they are always gentle with my hands and never leave them feeling raw and sore. Other places have cut me with the little dremels but never here. The place is admittedly a little run down but the staff makes up for that. The family that owns it is very friendly and remembers me when I come in and they have kids that are cute without being overly loud or obnoxious.Not the fanciest nail salon in the world, but they always do a good job!
