I have been to this salon many times and am sad to say that what was once a 5 star review is now a 1 star review. The last 3 manicures I have had have been rushed. For one the gel polish was chipping within a couple of days and at the last one I left with bleeding cuticles on 4 fingers. Went there because I had a gift certificate for a Deluxe Mani/Pedi. Told the girl I had the gift certificate she did not explain what was included in the deluxe. I wasn’t aware if it was just a plain mani and deluxe pedi or what. They sat me down The girl who did my pedi was good but I was not happy with the Mani. The girl was nice but to have her do my nails while I was receiving my pedi was not acceptable. I never soaked my fingers, she just cleaned them with a wet washcloth. Bam bam she was done. When I went to pay with the gift certificate the girl wrote on a piece of paper $40.00. So I took it up there and said I will leave the remainder of the gift certificate as part of the tip. She told me Oh The Prices went up and it’s 50.00 now for the services. I explained that the Gift card was for a Mani/Pedi Deluxe and I just got a plain mani she said I’ll just do the 45.00 and ripped the gift card up. Not nice at all. I’ve been going to this salon for about a year now and it’s no secret that they’re very busy most of the time. However, I got there today at 9:30am when they opened and had to wait about 20 minutes until someone came and put my nails in an acetone bowl to soak. I went in yesterday to get acrylics and it was my first time being at this salon. I didn’t feel very welcomed when I walked in. And the people working there didn’t seem friendly to me. I have went to this nail salon since the first day it opened. It was a great place. Service use to be top notch. But now it's not. Mya always does my nail due to I'm a diabetic. The last time I went to get a fill in she was so busy talking and not paying attention to doing my nails and hurt me. She just dismissed it and went on. I did go back in and showed her still nothing. If you don't want gel polish then don't go here!! I came in for a regular acrylic fill in. They didn't use drills which was very strange to me. We served Malamiah Juice as our beverage at our daughter's wedding (it was a dry event). Everyone was highly impressed with the quality of the juices and smoothies! We received so many compliments!! I have always LOVED coming to the downtown market for my own glass of Malamiah Juice, but having a variety of juices and smoothies at a catered event was such a treat!! Teresa does not know what she is doing! She is taking forever on my pedicure. 1) She wasn't able to find the matching polish to my gel. 2) She put two coats of the base gel on before apply the color. She also put 2 coats of the color on. 3) She's getting frustrated because she can't polish on my toes. She's messy! I will make sure I do not request her the next time I come in. *Edit: I honestly don't know what she's talking about: the base coat and the color 'separate' She keeps applying the color and adjusting it. She keep curing my polish. I'm so confused. I told her the polish is not suppose to touch the top of the nail where the skin is. She literally just put a 2nd coat on my big tow and cured it before putting on another coat on my other toes. Ang, however, was wonderful. She gave me the shape of nails I wanted. The salon recently renovated so it's a huge space with plenty of chairs, however, the staff could use some additional training. My technician, Theresa, allowed the tub to overflow onto my shoes and the floor; I'm not exactly sure how that happened. Then she had no idea what the "luxury" pedicure components were - she had to ask her coworker. She also didn't exactly know how to trim and file my nails. She went back to trim them 3 separate times. I appreciate she noticed an issue but usually it doesn't take that much time. She also took a personal call during my service. I found this to be quite unprofessional. I've been to this salon several times and usually have a decent experience so I hope they make sure to train all new staff so they can maintain a positive reputation. Read Less

I went there today for a manicure, pedicure and waxed eyebrows.  Well the same thing happened to me as the other review.  I came out of there with a Black Eyelid. The response was by the owner, Mya, she must have hit a vessel.  I had to ask for ice.  Yes they did get me some.  As I was leaving Mya said tell everyone it is a birthmark.  I am leaving on a plane tonight for a weekend in NYC with my husband and friends.  Not exactly how I wanted to look for my mini vacation.  I even had to pay for it.  Better customer service probably would not have charged me for the horrible wax job! Its always clean and comfortable and to be greeted by your name when you walk in the door to me is good business. They make each customer feel like they are welcome. I have been a customer and fan of Pampered Nails for 10+ years. The staff is friendly, professional and goes above and beyond to make sure I'm pleased with their services. They did a great job! I had a broken foot & my nails had grown out too long. They're so meticulous, and the nails are always nice and thin, no ugly shovel nails here! Mya is an absolute character and has a wonderful personality. I really love this place! I have been coming here regularly for a couple of years and before that I came every once in a while. Tried other places but have always come back here. I'm soooo frustrated right now! I have been coming to this nail establishment for 6 months (since I moved here)...Mya usually takes care of me but today she is out sick and I had to deal with this hothead bulldog!!! I change out my nails almost every 2 months so today is the day I get a new full set...I'm always changed $35 for acrylic and gel polish and Today these 2 ladies and a bulldog beouch wants to fight me about $5!!! Really!!! Isn't it about providing correct customer service and communicating properly. They failed to do that in this business. So needless to say this will be the last time I come here - instead of giving the $5 they chose to lose two customers!! I just stopped by Malamiah Juice Bar and was actually surprised how good the tropical green drink was! I went for the extra green/healthy one thinking it may be tolerable at best. But, the pineapple and mango added just the right amount of sweetness. And Kesia and Gabby were so helpful and kind. The entire building is actually pretty awesome. I have been here a couple of times before but have never been wow'd by the service. I decided to stop in again because I needed a quick pedi and didn't have time to go to my regular place. They were very well staffed and I got in right away. The girl that did my pedi was very nice, but the problem is that they do not seem like they are experienced. She was trying to trim the cuticles on my toes (never had that done before) and she kept poking me I told her it hurt, so.....she kept doing! She put the polish on my toes then she used lotion to massage my legs but kept bumping my polish and had to fix a couple. Polish should be the last thing. At the end, I wasn't even put under a dryer. The are more expensive then my regular place and not as good. Next time I will skip the pedi to wait until I can go to my regular spot. I guess I just wanted that Pampered feeling that's in their name. Read Less

I come here from the other side of town because they are awesome! I've tried other places, but never have the quality or service that they provide here. They also have more gel polish colors than anywhere, almost 250 (and they have a new one every 2 weeks when I'm there)!They are also willing to do any nail art or designs that you want. People in there are always showing Pinterest ideas and walking out thrilled!Update 9/13/14They have over 350 gel colors now.They recently remodeled and added an additional 4 pedicure chairs! I am a regular here. I generally like the customer service. The owner, Maya, is very friendly and goes out of her way to remember the customers' names. Susan is the best for a pedicure and Cindy is the best if you are getting "fake" nails (ie. gel or acrylic fill-in/full-set). When they are very busy, the customer service is not as great. They have a wide selection of polish colors and will serve you wine if you ask. The reasons for not giving 5 stars are: they are not great with honoring appointments & they selectively speak in Vietnamese when they don't want customers to hear the conversation, which I think is rude.
