Hadn’t gotten my nails done in 5 years but decided to try gel nails for the first time and most people told me they should last at least 2 weeks. So decided to try it out. Got gel nail manicure done and they started lifting up and peeling after only 5 days and I was not picking at the nails at all. Kind of disappointing. I’ve had great experiences with polished in South Charlotte by this one did not live up. After waiting 10 minutes to be given color options, I figured well I’m already here and I’m not going to try going somewhere else. I watched my nail tech the entire time and he never once dipped my nails in the SNS color I chose. Just the base coat that every SNS manicure has. Then slapped a top coat on and tried to send me on my way. when I confronted that he never once used the color, he argued with me. Then the manager said “well he says he dipped it 3 times and it and it’s just a natural color.” Not having time or patience to argue, I paid and left, but will never return. Read Less

Let me start by saying this is the first review I have ever written. I felt compelled to do this because I am so disappointed by the manicure(s) that I have received here. I've tried 3 very separate occasions thinking they all couldn't be that bad.. thinking I would get a good, wishfully thinking , 'great' manicure but I must get the same girl every time and she screws up my nails SO bad.. I try to tell her no, I don't like that and she just keeps going. She cuts into the sides of the nails right where the nail bed begins and cuts off the corner of each side of the nail which she has already clipped the nail almost to the quick.. I told her in the beginning to not cut my nails so short but she didn't give a damn or doesn't understand English.. I walk out of there with nub nails with raw skin on the sides.. painful!! WTF? Cathy was amazing! I've heard of Polished in Atlanta so when I visited NC I went for something familiar- although they aren't related apparently. But am I happy I stumbled across this place. For starters, the place is BEAUTIFUL!!! And then they served mimosas. We weren't even expecting all the fancy treatment. We did have to wait. They appeared to have more clientele than staff but with our feet in the warm water and mimosas between our fingers we really didn't care. Cathy the nail tech was super sweet. She's Cambodian and Vietnamese and she's a doll. Look for the lady with all the tattoos!! :) Great conversation and my nails were flawless. She took her time with everything (and I know my cuticles are a lot of work). Price was reasonable- especially considering the pampering. I can only recommend this place!!! Read Less

I got sns nails and a pedicure from Polished today and overall it was a good experience! The pedicure chairs are nice but worn, and they offer complimentary wine which is always nice! The chairs for manicures are bar stools and much less comfortable. My back started to hurt after a while and felt bad that they had to stay standing to do it. I'm pleased with the manicure but the shaping on some isn't very consistent, and had to remind her to clean the under side of the nail. They only take tips via cash which is really inconvenient, but they've added an atm in the salon. So either you give a $20 tip or ask for change, which felt awkward. Was really hoping for more. The brand and imaging of the website doesn’t match the attitude or customer service given. Was planning to bring my little sister on a surprise treat after exams staff was nice enough to fit us on the schedule but there was little care or attention given they rushed us through as fast as they could. The tech cut one of my cuticles too close causing pain and blood without even apologizing. Accidents happen, I understand but show a little caring. Also did not like that there weren’t any drying stations. Before I left the shop I had already smudged three nails. Didn’t even bother to make a complaint. Very disappointing experience. Read Less

Sooo awesome. The place is fancy, but affordable. I got acrylics and he did great work. I had my eyebrows waxed a few days before and they look great. ($12 vs $18 at the wax spot next to it) They took their time and brought me a mimosa. I saw a little girl getting her nails done with her mom and they were enjoying themselves! Read Less

I have my favorites at all locations. I recently tried the Sns and I'm in love with the product. Mary is the best at gels and and this new dip powder. My nails lasted more than 2 weeks and did no damage to my real nails. I love this product !!! If you are in the Huntersville area and want a quality tech I suggest you try Mary at polished Huntersville she gets the job done and doesn't rush the services. Read Less

Two days prior I made appointments for 3 of us to get pedicures right when they opened Sunday at 1:00pm. I walked in at 1:01 and they had 6 pedicure chairs full already and my grandmother from Michigan and I had to wait for more than 35 minutes and was told they just over book. Worst customer service ever. I wouldn't be back.It seems that a booked appointment should get preference to a walk in. I was told by one employee (nice lady with arm tattoos) that she had to call her 1:00pm client to come in later because the phone guy who takes appointments over booked by too many. She told me no one would be able to see my grandma or I for longer than an hour. If this were the case and they knew before opening they overbooked us, a courtesy phone call would have been appropriate. Or that info as we checked in would've been nice. Instead of sticking us in cold pedicure water for 30-40 minutes with us hoping someone would acknowledge us. If you haven't been here, definitely do not! The owner or manager (older women) came over to tell us 3 employees called out sick the day before - which was when I told her a phone call or even eye contact and that information while we waited would have been appropriate. Will not be going back. The hostess acted like she could not be bothered and barley looked at anyone. She was watching Netflix on her kindle. My tech was good but the adorable chair is not comfortable. It is not adjustable and I am 5'2. They had my daughter lean forward in the pedicure chair to get her mani. If I could give polished a zero I would! To start, despite having an appointment I had to wait. My sister and I went and had called ahead to see that they could do a special design. After saying yes they ruined my sister's nails so bad she had to start all over and was there for 2 hrs while they fixed it, then charged her extra for having them fix their mess up. My nails, I don't know where to start. I have about 4 different shapes, and lengths. I said I didn't want them too thick well they are! They hurt from being so thing and have so much extra polish on the sides it is stuck to my skin. The ends of my nails are thicker than the rest. Over all a terrible experience, and my nails look terrible. I came with a design I wanted and after being told they could do it, they said not everyone can do it like a picture. I understand it won't be exact but it didn't even resemble it. I also had to listen to them complain the entire time! If they couldn't do it i would have liked to know before I spent $70 on nails that look horrid. My husband even thinks they look terrible, and to top it off I go out of town early tomorrow and have no time to re do them or I would go to my normal girl who is HALF the cost! Got a full set acrylic. The guy doin them didn't even get acrylic on the ends so it's still the plastic tip. Super bendy. Probably don't last a week. Took three coats AND they don't have nail dryers. So I had to sit for like 30 mins to dry because it was 3 layers.  Been here a few times in the past. Always regret comin back. Read Less

I had hoped this new location in Huntersville would be better than their other locations around Charlotte, but I should have just stuck with my gut and gone somewhere else. Their customer service is severely lacking, the pedicure itself was mediocre at best, the mud wasn't even washed off of my legs, and the polish was messed up before I even walked out the door. The service was so bad I went to another nail salon to have the polish fixed and I will NEVER go to another Polished location again. Read Less

Pretty place, huge color selection and friendly service.  However... the pedicure I got (standard) is second worst ever after the one my son gave me when he was 3...Details? my nails weren't filed right and are still all rough at the ends so the polish makes it stand out, there is color left over from my previous pedicure (it was dark blue, this one is almost white so you can see streaks of blue!), my cuticles are still sprawling happily and I have dead skin getting a sun tan on the tip of my toes. Basically it looks like when I DIY when I am in a rush.  Except I paid $25 + tip for it.  I'm not a picky nail customer but do expect a clean job! Read Less

This place is beautiful place and lots of technicians. I was a walk in for a full set and they were able to take me right way. My technician seemed nice a first but quickly got aggravated when I was asking him about nail jewelry. So i completed my service in silence and like any other nail shop I paid before the started painting and I tipped in cash before completing and his mood seemed to brighten up after giving him some money.he didn't do a great job on my nails but they were a slightly more expensive then your average nail shop. Convenient location but otherwise not a fan and likely won't go back.  Staff was so so..definitely not overly friendly.  Most concerning though was that they don't use plastic covers in the tubs and I didn't notice them cleaning any during tubs the entire time I was there.  The lady that did my nails also cut my twice and didn't put any antiseptic on it?  Questionable cleanliness...so I won't be back. Very disappointed in customer service. I cannot speak for the quality of work they do since I did not even get a chance to go there. I have made arrangement for a party for few of my friends, about a month in advance over the phone. All my information was taken including a phone number. Date, time and package was clearly finalized. Just to make sure everything is all set, I called to confirm a day before the appointment . To my surprise I was told they have no idea about my party. After a prolonged conversation, I was told someone will get back to me to try to resolve this. And as expected, NO ONE DID. What is the point of making appointment if you cannot keep track of it? This review is for the Huntersville location by Birkdale Village. After reading some negative reviews and some positive I decided to just go give them a try and form my own opinion. I went in with a positive attitude and figured if I wasn't happy after the first nail or two, then I wouldn't let them finish the rest. I was immediately greeted with a smile when I walked in on a Friday night around 5:30. They weren't too busy so that was good for me. I didn't have to wait long at all. I was in need of a full set of acrylic nails and so I was met by Cam/Kam (not sure how she spells it). She had a positive, fun attitude. She listened to my nail specs and executed quickly and to my liking. I will return again and would suggest giving them a try so that you can form your own opinion as I personally did not have a bad experience like some others did. Thanks Cam/Kam! Read Less

Similar experience to others here. Today was my first visit to the Huntersville location, have previously had great experiences at locations down in Charlotte & was excited to try this location- I won't go back. The technician completed a pedicure, gel removal & gel manicure in under an hour, which speaks to the "quality" of the work. I have never been so rushed or experienced such roughness during nail treatments! She barely went through the motions and cut my cuticle badly on my left hand- I had to point out to her that it was gushing blood & she grabbed a brush out of her basket to dab up the blood and put some powder on- then brush straight back in her basket for use on the next customer no doubt! Finished product complete with bubbles & dents in the nails, as well as polish on the cuticles (that she didn't cut off!) since she didn't even leave them one full cycle in the UV before wiping down. Seemed surprised to receive no tip. I'll never go back. Read Less

I've been coming to polish for nearly a year. Always have a good experience when I come here. My nail technician is Kathee and she is phenomenal! Ask for her! Does an excellent job on my nails every time. Very close attention to detail, and that's important to me. Lots of polish colors to select from.
